  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Mar 9, 2014 -> 11:57 PM) Lance Stephenson plays like that guy that joins your pickup game, says he hasn't played basketball in 10 years, and just makes lucky shot after lucky shot And you know he's like that because he'll brick a few shots really badly in between.
  2. What a game for Jo. 13/12/14.
  3. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 1, 2014 -> 05:17 PM) So win out, win a game or two in the tourney, dare we say NCAA berth Beating three straight ranked teams to end it would definitely strengthen our chances. I still don't like the odds though.
  4. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Feb 28, 2014 -> 09:42 AM) Sources say Bulls close to signing Fredette. Jimmer can definitely shoot and the Bulls need that. He can be a quick jolt off the bench when the Bulls go into those horrible dry spells on offense. It looks like the Bulls are probably going to grab the 3rd seed. They definitely won't get passed the Eastern Semis, but maybe they'll be entertaining again in the playoffs.
  5. QUOTE (ptatc @ Feb 27, 2014 -> 09:15 AM) Players are used to racists in locker rooms. Players are not used to gay players in locker rooms. It's all about player comfort levels. They are?
  6. I'm definitely getting a Demarini J3 now. Hit a HR opposite field with almost no effort. Amazing bat.
  7. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 07:42 PM) That's just something that doesn't concern me, as I've had every iPhone since the start and have never broken one of them, despite not using a case. They're phones not hammers, don't be careless with them. I don't throw my expensive watch around, either...it's not a baseball, it's a delicate instrument and though made to withstand some punishment, the wrong drop at the wrong angle can destroy it, so it should be treated as such. If a shatterproof phone is what you need, they make them, and they're huge ugly monstrosities. Oh, I don't throw rubber balls at my plasma tvs, either, because they'll shatter. That being said, IF that's such a concern to you, buy the insurance which is available for any device you buy and then you can shatter them at will. I personally have never broken a phone due to clumsiness. I've come close (dropped my uncle's iPhone 4 from about chest high straight onto hard flooring and it somehow survived) though. However, you can't account for situations you just can't control sometimes. In those cases, I'd rather have a phone that's less likely to break if I do drop it. I use cases though, so usually that's not an issue. I've dropped my Nexus 5 with the case on a few times and it's still in perfect condition.
  8. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 07:02 PM) We agree on that, I think a flagship phone needs to be made of some sort of metal/alloy these days, I'm not a huge fan of plastic stuff at these prices. But that'd still be incremental. It doesn't even need to be like the HTC One. Sony's phones are absolutely gorgeous (see new Z2), although I don't know how shatter-proof they are.
  9. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 06:45 PM) In Samsungs defense (I can't believe you have me defending Samsung here), the smartphone market is technologically mature now, and there isn't much other than incremental updates to add/tweak at this point. It's not unlike what the desktop market became over the years, where a bit more speed was the only real differentiator. Until a battery breakthrough is made, which is an obvious improvement, or a yet unknown and much less obvious idea emerges, there isn't much they can really do at this point. If people thought the S4 was a bad incremental update, then this is a far worse incremental update. I think the best thing Samsung could have done was improve the build quality of the phone. I don't think that requires anything groundbreaking to do. But they really didn't manage to do that. Instead, they made a phone with a slightly better feeling back that's bigger than the previous iteration in every way.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 02:42 PM) I came to this thread wondering if anyone had commented on it. I take a lot from the fact this was the only comment I see. Samsung's getting pretty complacent.
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 02:46 PM) It's good and they at least tried to do something about crap build materials. I'm glad they didn't add resolution as that s*** is getting out of hand and is a major battery suck. There had been a rumor that this might come in at a lower price than most flagship phones as carriers are applying pressure to OEMs to make phones affordable for non-contract purchasing (who thought we'd ever hear this? thanks T-Mobile!) I'm sort of disappointed that these two early flagships (HTC One and S5) are going to use the Snapdragon 800 and not the 805. And yeah, I really didn't see the point of a 1440p display on a 5 inch display. They did good getting rid of that awful glossy plastic, but the phone is heavier, bigger, and thicker than the S4. That's a step back IMO.
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 09:46 AM) I use a wood bat since I play mostly 16in. I use a 34 or 36 oz. Jesus Christ that's heavy.
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 24, 2014 -> 11:01 AM) There are a few Jeff Halls in our teams bat collection, those are also pretty fun to swing. Our teams best hitter plays with the local combat tourney team, so he has a few combats in his bag too. Personally for some reason I really like the two piece bats. Maybe it is how they are weighted, but they feel great when you hit the sweet spot. But they seem to fizzle out quicker than the one piece bats, and the sweet spot is smaller I really like the Z2000/3000s. Those and the J3 are the only two piece bats I like. My friend has a Combat Wanted, but I've never liked how end-loaded it is.
  14. Samsung Galaxy S5 = MEH.
  15. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 23, 2014 -> 10:20 PM) I'm a big fan of the Freak+ I don't think I've ever swung a Miken before. With the new ASA regulations, the new Combat bats are hot as hell, especially last year's Derby Boys. I just swung a Demarini J3 today, almost fresh out the wrapper and it felt amazing. I'm seriously thinking about dropping $250 on it right now.
  16. What bats do you guys swing?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 21, 2014 -> 10:53 AM) Kevin Spacey and his group went around and proposed it to networks, HBO, Showtime, etc, and were declined. Then they went to Netflix and Hulu and Netflix wrote them a blank check for two seasons. He told that story on The Daily Show this week. I imagine it'd be hard for a major network to carry a show that's this dark and air it every week at 8 PM. They get to be a lot more explicit on Netflix and that's probably a good thing.
  18. chw42 replied to Kyyle23's topic in SLaM
Netflix has incentive to release episodes every week as opposed to all at once. It keeps viewers interested and it keeps viewers subscribed longer. For all I know, a lot of people probably just get the one month trial and never subscribe afterwards. I do love binge viewing though.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 21, 2014 -> 09:48 AM) The Political undertones are my favorite part. I watched 8 episodes this week already and plan on killing season one tonight and maybe tomorrow. The plot is awesome and I can already see some foreshadowing that will get exciting later on. 8 episodes in season 1? You've seen nothing yet.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Feb 20, 2014 -> 08:15 AM) I just started watching a couple days ago as well. I'm two episodes in but so far am underwhelmed. It's alright but nothing has really grabbed me yet. Maybe I just don't care about political thrillers? I'll probably at least watch through the first season For me, it isn't about the politics. It's about how diablolical the main characters are. Francis Underwood almost makes Walter White look innocent.

I can't believe I didn't watch House of Cards until 3 days ago. It's been on my watchlist for a while and now I can't stop watching.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 15, 2014 -> 03:48 PM) It was the USB, I did hours of dicking aroudn because I didn't want to go to the car to get my other one. ALso fun, because i killed the battery on my PC, I can't use the cyanogenmod mac installer because my phones on 4.4 now. Long day. If you find the htc one sprint img for 4.3 let me know. I think they have some Xposed mods for Sense. I don't even flash ROMs anymore, I just use stock + Xposed. It gets me pretty much everything I want from custom ROMs without having to wipe my data every time I flash a new ROM.

    We have enough outfielders.
  24. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 12, 2014 -> 10:19 PM) Luol Deng is such hot garbage. This is like the 2nd time in a couple weeks he's gone 0/9 from the field. That was your "All Star", Bulls fans. Thank Christ the Cavs have terrible leadership. Luol has been highly overrated these past few years. He's a good, not great player. I have no idea why he made the all-star team last year.
