  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 11:21 AM) FWIW, UZR is not very helpful over a 60 game span. Borderline useless, really. When it's -11.2 in 66 games, it's pretty telling. DRS also disliked him at -5. It doesn't mean he's never going to be a good outfielder again, it's a red flag though.
  2. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 11:20 AM) I think he had a nagging injury last year didn't he? He got hurt early in the year and he didn't look like the same guy from 2012 afterwards. Very discouraging IMO. Especially for a speed guy like him.
  3. Eaton didn't do anything well last year. In fact, UZR hated his defense when he only played 60 games. Last season certainly isn't encouraging, but if you told me we could get Eaton last year for Santiago, I would have been pretty happy about it. I think we should get more than Eaton for Santiago.
  4. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 11:45 PM) Don't worry, ESPN and idiots on twitter are all over Romo, saying he choked somehow, saying how bad he sucks in December, ignoring how bad his defense is the fact that since 2009 he has 30 TD and 5 INT in December. Romo is probably the most underrated QB in football when you factor in how bad he is hated and treated for no reason. He gets credit for nothing, blame for everything. Romo didn't play well tonight. There were throws he should have made to keep the Cowboys at least in the game. Instead, they had a few crucial three and outs that shouldn't have happened. All the Cowboys had to do was run with DeMarco Murray all night and this game would have been a hell of a lot closer. Instead, they chose to throw the ball too many times on crucial downs. That said, you can't blame Romo for this loss. He could have played like Peyton Manning and they still would have lost because of the defense.

This would have been an awful deal. Good thing it wasn't true.
  6. The Bears scored on every possession tonight except the last one (on-side kick). Pretty amazing.
  7. The Cowboys sitting their starters in garbage time decided who I'll play next week.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 10:19 PM) As long as they aren't Cowboys defenders. They do have Ware, Lee, and Carr. Scandrick's pretty good too.
  9. You know your defense blows when Michael Bush is averaging 5 yards per attempt.
  10. You gotta wonder if Marshall is playing hurt a lot. He always ends up limping off the field at least once a game.
  11. Wow this Dallas defense is awful. It's kind of funny how Marinelli left the Bears and our defense sucks. Then he goes to Dallas and the defense there is even worse.
  12. This defense has blitzed extremely well today.
  13. Bad special teams strikes again.
  14. That works. 21 point lead with a little over a quarter left.
  15. Sean Lee's out for the game. Now's the time to run the ball.
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 09:40 PM) I think he's been listening to all the praise in here and getting a big head. Back to the basics Josh. Exactly. His game is in the mid-range. He doesn't have the arm to keep throwing deep. It's also a lot easier to defend the big play when that's all you run.
  17. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 09:24 PM) At MLE-level salary, you only need to be better than people like Landry Fields or John Salmons for it to make sense. Eh, the Rudy Gay of this year and last year haven't been much better. Give Fields or Salmons the same volume of shots and they might actually be better.
  18. McCown's almost thrown two picks so far in the second half. Two dodged bullets.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 09:24 PM) A bit higher and that's a td I think the 06 line was better. They made Rex Grossman look really good for half a season.
  20. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 07:57 PM) Geez, quote from a Zach Lowe article... I get not wanting his contract, but not even for the MLE? Unless you have Lebron, Durant, Melo or George, he's easily worth that risk, especially when you look at the kind of guys that frequently get more than that. Considering all the articles about how Rudy Gay hates the idea of advanced metrics being brought up, I'm not surprised some GMs are souring on him. Hell, he banned advanced metrics summaries from being distributed in the Toronto locker room after the game. I know he doesn't like to hear how he's not a good player and all, but if you're not looking to improve your deficiencies, you don't have the drive to be an all-star in the NBA.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 09:10 PM) That works out to be four rookies. Who are most likely going to be replacement level players. If Paulino is even remotely healthy, he's easily a 1-2 win starter.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 09:13 PM) I don't know that I would go there, but that is yearly highlight material. Jeffrey is a better big play receiver I think. Marshall is obviously more experienced and trustworthy on the routine plays, but if you need a big play, you go to Alshon.
  23. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 09:08 PM) Money seems like a lot for what we will get...but hopefully it works out. $2 million in the free agent market these days is chump change.
  24. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 9, 2013 -> 09:03 PM) Jeffery might be the best WR on this team. Also, I see no need for Jay Cutler on this team. At some point, the way this team is playing w/ McCown stops being a fluke. I think Cutler deserves a shot when he finally does become healthy (if he does this season at all). If he plays like he did before he got hurt, then yeah, I don't see a need for him. McCown's been one of the best QBs in football since taking over. If Cutler can't do better than a 34 year old journeyman in this system, then he'll never live up to his talent.
  25. Alshon Jeffrey might just be better than Brandon Marshall.
