  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 5, 2012 -> 05:55 PM) Just remember that when Axelrod and Stults are pitching the next two days, lol. I remember when Stults shut us down with the Dodgers in 05.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 5, 2012 -> 05:54 PM) Sale and Reed could be the anchors for the best bullpen in baseball for years. They are almost the same pitcher in terms of pitches and velocity. Both are fastball/slider guys. Reed's got more of a hard slider, Sale's is more curve-ball like.
  3. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 5, 2012 -> 04:53 PM) I couldn't believe noah went back out there. I was yelling to take him out the entire time. How the f*** could you not tell he couldn't run?
  4. We have ourselves a real closer gentlemen.
  5. Come on Addison, ace him with a slider.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ May 5, 2012 -> 05:50 PM) Ventura has been very underwhelming Mostly because of his handling of the closer situation. It really should have been Reed to begin with. We knew Thornton wasn't successful at closing last season and Reed is easily one of the best relief prospects in baseball. We're rebuilding, so why not?
  7. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ May 5, 2012 -> 05:48 PM) They always put Reed in a s***ty ass situation like that. Seriously, he shouldn't be left to clean up a mess. He should be brought in to begin with! When will Ventura and Coop stop the experimentation?
  8. Bring in Reed.
  9. You absolutely cannot let Santiago pitch to Jackson.
  10. Please put Reed in. Raburn scares the s*** out of me in situations like these.
  11. I'd imagine Reed will come in for Raburn, if we get there.
  12. Reed warming.
  13. Santiago in. I don't like this. I don't understand it, why not give Reed a shot?
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 5, 2012 -> 05:37 PM) If Sale isn't ready to go today then he ought to be on the DL. Yeah, didn't he start on Tuesday?
  15. I guess it's a good thing whoever closes won't see the middle of the Tigers' order. Avila, Peralta, Dirks due up.
  16. Did I mention that Valverde sucks?
  17. Screw you Valverde!
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 4, 2012 -> 10:00 PM) If this franchise had any f***ing clue, they'd have traded Sale for immense value if they internally did not believe he could hold up. All reports state that he wanted to continue starting. Let him go out there a couple more times, make some wild offer (UM DAVID WRIGHT ANYONE??) and upgrade the roster. Tell me Morel + Sale doesn't get you Wright (prior to so publicly pissing on your player's value?) God, this organization is being run by a dolt. Well, Sale alone should get you more than Wright if other teams had no concern over his mechanics. Plus, Wright's making a ton of money, money we kind of don't have.
  19. Horrible execution, bad coaching. Nobody really stepped up late in the game. Plus, why didn't Watson play at all in the 4th? JL3 did nothing but dribble out the shot clock and take horrible shots.
  20. I was just looking at Sale's mechanics earlier in the year, trying to see if his inverted W was going to be an issue. Not all inverted W's cause issues in pitchers, it's the pitching arm being horizontal (and not vertical) when the front foot is already planted that can overload the shoulder/elbow and cause injuries. I didn't come up with anything too conclusive, but it looks like his mechanics will cause arm issues.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 4, 2012 -> 04:35 PM) Sale is 3-1, with 28 ks in 32 IP, and they do this. WTF. He must have told them his arm wasn't feeling too hot. His velocity was down in his last start.
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 2, 2012 -> 12:18 AM) Whoever missed that game missed a great, fun one. I fully expect the entire Indians infield to be sent down to A ball by tomorrow. How the hell do you miss infield pop ups? I understand one of them was because there was a lot of smoke left by the fireworks, but come on...
  23. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 2, 2012 -> 12:09 AM) That was such a fun game to watch. De Aza absolutely SMOKED that double. He did smoke a pitch right at Jimenez later on, but that resulted in a fielder's choice. I guess things sort of evened out.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 09:05 AM) Also a little more breakdown on the same topic http://fanpeeps.com/-pl9j Yeah, there's a difference in his arm speed and it's quite noticeable. It looks like he's finishing up the changeup a lot slower than the fastball. That's a big no-no. That changeup's location wasn't all that bad, although it was in the zone.
