QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 09:20 PM) 3 of our top 4 guards were down...and we won. Man the Wizards are bad. Need to be Bullets. Who did they lose from last year to make them THIS bad? They weren't this bad last year. Boozer and Noah...this is a night they needed to step up and earn their $10 million + contracts. Yet both disappeared, again. If Noah keeps playing this badly, Asik could steal the starting spot from him.

That game was almost uglier than the first Atlanta game. Yeesh, I'll take it though.

SCAL! And the Wizards are going to score under 70 (most likely). That's 3 teams the Bulls have held under 70 this year.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 09:13 PM) Dude almost has a triple double, but yeah... The Wizards are a f***ing joke. He's put up nearly 30 shots though. AND he's played pretty much the entire game. He should have at least a double-double being the only PG for the Bulls.

Technology catch-all thread
I'm looking to get a new phone. I'm kind of torn between the Galaxy S II and the Sensation 4G (Sensation already has ICS). The only thing that's stopping me from already deciding is the fact that the Sensation has an S-LCD screen, not an S-AMOLED. So for any of you that have had phones with both types of screens, is there a big difference? I know the AMOLED is far better with contrast and viewing angles and the S-LCD is slightly better in sunlight. But from daily use, do you notice anything that stands out?

QUOTE (sircaffey @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 07:35 PM) Don't worry. Lucas is doing his Rose impression. 7 shots through the 1st quarter. And everybody thought Rose took bad 3 point shots. Lucas is 0-5 from 3.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 02:29 PM) It should just be called "Derrick Rose forever has turf toe". It's never going away, it'll just get worse at certain points. He's a beast, and I'm sure they'll just inject the area prior to tipoff as they did throughout the entire postseason last year. When did he get turf toe?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 11, 2012 -> 06:53 AM) Reds Sign Madson Only 1 year at 8.5 million? That's a steep drop from the 4/44 he was supposedly close to signing last year. Looks like Boras botched this one. Anyway, great deal for the Reds. They've had quite an off-season. Wow, sucks for Madson. He was due for a big payday, but only got 1/5 of the contract Philly had on the table.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 08:08 PM) There was no movement off the ball during that run for the Bulls. Everyone just stopped and watched, and settle for jumpers at the end of shot clock. I wish Rose would stop heaving the ball, that shot will never go in. It doesn't hurt to try. There might be a 1% chance Rose makes that shot, but there's a 0 percent chance if he doesn't shoot it.

I don't think the Bulls scored for the last 3 minutes. They've been horrible at closing out quarters in certain games this year.

QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 10:50 AM) This certainly adds another thing to consider, and it is interesting to see the difference in his overall percentage when factoring his buzzer beaters/heaves in. However, I'm not completely sold that you can just discount them without a second thought. I feel like you'd have to look at the tape for each of them to really decide how it applies, as I'm sure there were instances of him getting the ball with 10 on the clock and just settling for a three instead of attempting to drive. I'd also be interested in seeing the league numbers on those shots. I think that's what Synergy Sports does. They have video of every play of every game and break things down for you. I'm pretty sure they classify heaves as shots from 40-50+ feet with little or no time left on the shot or game clock.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 07:19 AM) Korver played 32 min last night and scored 8 points on 2 of 7 shooting. I can see why he's playing so much. He's been shooting better. So eh...

2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
An idea popped into my head today... Why not use Game Score (Hollinger stat) as the scoring for fantasy basketball? It seems a lot better than most generic fantasy scoring systems and is more in-depth than Efficiency. So I made a H2H points league (only way to do it) on Yahoo if anyone is still interested in drafting a team (in case yours sucked). This league's purely experimental. I'd like to see how it goes and maybe adopt this model for future leagues. Draft is this Sunday at 8:45 PM CST. League ID: 154244 password: basketball

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 09:18 PM) lol. First of all, LeBron wants his MVP back. So that's that. Second, somebody needs to let Derrick know that he's NOT a 3-point shooter and has no business taking 5 a night. He had to force two of them up today.

QUOTE (SouthSideTeacher @ Jan 9, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) He's truly OFF lately. Watching him run up and down the court, it's like yeah, he's there, but he's not ALL there. It's like zombie-noah or something. Anyone else catch him taking smelling salts before the tip? Is this something that he usually does? I've never seen it before tonight. Are they all THAT tired? He got high before the game.
