  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 07:47 PM) Only real regret about way bullpen was used was Thornton not starting the 8th with 3 lefties coming up. He used Ohman perfectly. Hudson's error in that inning was pretty big.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 07:46 PM) I agree...but Nate Jones was sick, so he didn't want to burn Crain or let Ohman pitch to the righty. In the 6th, it really didn't look like this would be a 12 inning game, either. What's the worst Ryan could have done? He was hitting .175 and had one lucky hit today. I thought he should have left Ohman in. Worst comes to worst, you walk Ryan and you pitch to Ichiro. Jones looked like he was breathing a bit hard out there today, I was surprised he was still bringing it. Apparently he had food poisoning.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 07:36 PM) 5-6 in one run games 13-14 at home 1-3 in extras 9 blown saves Lots of room for improvement there. Game should have been over when we were up 7-5 in the 8th, but Crain just wasn't able to hold it. Some really bad defense from AJ/Hudson...bad baserunning from DeAza getting deked by Ryan into thinking he might drop it, you have to get back to first and prevent the double play there. At worst, it's a forceout and there's a runner on 1st for Dunn, although with the way Adam hit in this game, maybe it wouldn't have even mattered. Key hit of the game was obviously the Ryan double. Still, great to to see more homers from Viciedo (one of the most impressive of the entire season) and Beckham's hot streak (9 games with at least one hit) continues. Yeah that was just bad on Alejandro's part. Go back to first. Ryan won't get Gordon out if he lets it drop. Provided that Gordon actually runs down to first.
  4. I don't want to go sit in a s***ty seat for $5 on a week night. Give me more half price mondays for EVERY seat and I'll go. I'd much rather pay the $30 for some lower deck seats on Stub Hub.
  5. Bad day for the bullpen. Guys have been overused. The only reason the M's were able to even threaten in certain innings was because we kept giving them leadoff walks. I really didn't like how Robin handled the bullpen today, especially in that 6th inning. He used 3 guys to get like 4 batters out. Truth is, he should have never used Stewart. Hopefully, Danks will be back for the Toronto series and Quintana won't have to start a game.
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 11:49 AM) I was thinking Floyd and Quintana for Youkilis and one of their better lower level starting pitchers. But I hope they pass for now. That's overpaying by a lot. Floyd is worth way more to Boston than Youk.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 10:49 AM) www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/danny-knobler/19226561/red-sox-intend-to-trade-youkilis The White Sox and Dodgers have both been reported to be scouting Youkilis per Jon Heyman. I figured a central thread to the Youkilis rumors will be good for discussion. Youk would be owed around at least $7 million (~$6 million for rest of year, $1 million buyout next year). Hudson's doing alright IMO, unless they offer him for the cheap (somebody like Quintana for instance), I don't think we should budge.
  8. It sure looked like there was a lot more than 19K at the game today. Maybe it's because the crowd sat in a very concentrated manner. Nobody was in the outfield, it appeared.
  9. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 10:20 PM) I was shocked to hear that the Sox are 20-3 against Seattle in the last 23 games, amazing. We're like the 2002-2010 Twins to them.
  10. Come on boys, get some runs.
  11. That same pitch to Smoak will go a long way...
  12. Huge out there.
  13. Wow, this sucks.
  14. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 09:14 PM) I don't think I've ever seen a ball hit as hard as Dunn hit that ball in the 5th. Now you're starting to sound like Hawk.
  15. Nicely done Matt.
  16. Thornton's had the most appearances as a reliever in White Sox history now. Interesting stat.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 09:01 PM) Shades of the Tigers game here At least it's not Ohman pitching.
  18. Not liking this...
  19. Better have that bullpen up and ready.
  20. Felix getting pounded.
  21. Paulie just missed it.
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 03:45 PM) Too bad we can't slip an angry looking Hawk in there somewhere. Steve should give angry Peavy a caption cloud and have it say "WHAT ARE YOU DOIN' WEGNER!?"
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 03:39 PM) Here it is, your moment of Zen. Yay for more fireworks! I like the happy Peavy better. The one on the left makes him look like one of those zombie things in I Am Legend.
