Colby Rasmus Trade Rumor
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 03:46 PM) Jackson and Teahen to the Cards for Rasmus, Quentin and Pierre to Atlanta for Beachy and someone else? If this was the case, I'd be looking forward to next year ALOT.

Colby Rasmus Trade Rumor
QUOTE (Paulstar @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 06:10 PM) Love this, if it happens. Rasmus could turn out to be our CF for the next decade. Question then becomes, how the hell do we get rid of Rios? You don't. Nobody's taking that contract. You let him sit on the bench for the rest of the year, this season's lost for him anyhow.

Colby Rasmus Trade Rumor
I think I'd be in. We have an abundance of left handed relievers and I'd be happy to get something for Jackson. Rasmus has Sizemore-like potential and he showed a lot of it last year. Unfortunately, he seems like a pretty high maintenance guy at the plate, which could translate into bad results here in Chicago, especially if Walker's still the hitting coach.

McKeon: "GUILLEN WOULD BE AN IDEAL FIT"
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 04:15 PM) It's pretty obvious he will be their next manager. They want him and our fans want to run him out of town. Easy to figure. He'll be very popular in Florida. And we will begin the 3-4 year cycle of managers again. Who will be the first guinea pig to take the Sox job? Nobody gives a s*** about baseball down in Florida.

Tigers acquire our old friend Wilson Betemit
Wilson Betemit is meh at the plate and can't play defense. I know Inge has been Adam Dunn bad, but this isn't that much of an upgrade.

7-20: Sox (47-50) vs. Royals (39-58); 7:10; CSN
Danks continuing his pre-injury dominance.

7-20: Sox (47-50) vs. Royals (39-58); 7:10; CSN
At least Matt Treanor's not at the plate...lol. There's always one POS player the Royals have that kills the Sox. I remember when Esteban German would go 4-5 against us and drive in huge runs. Then he'd go back to being absolute crap afterwards.

Now Francouer's on second. Watch Hosmer tie this up.

2011 Cubs Thread
I went to the game today for a company outing. We were on one of the rooftops. I swear, nobody there was actually watching the game. I know nobody cares since the Cubs suck, but seriously, you're at a baseball game, at least take a damn peak. I did enjoy the free food and booze though.

7-20: Sox (47-50) vs. Royals (39-58); 7:10; CSN
QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 08:21 PM) Maybe he pulls off a Gil Meche and sees that he sucked so bad for the team and do something good by not taking the money Meche walked away from $12 million. Dunn's amount is nearly 4 times that.

7-20: Sox (47-50) vs. Royals (39-58); 7:10; CSN
QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 08:06 PM) How many ppl here want Dunn to retire? I do, sadly. There have been rumours swirling that if his struggles continue he will walk away from baseball. So that does mean we dont owe him the money on his remaining years of the contract. We can certainly somehow retool the roster with that money, especially 3B or sumthing There's no way Dunn walks away from $44 million.

QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 08:17 PM) Prior to the game, Morel hits .183 vs LH Morel's just a bad hitter in general.

Marmol on the bloc, should the Sox be calling?
The bullpen is the least of the Sox' worries right now.

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 10:34 AM) 23rd in defensive efficiency, though... (balls put into play converted into outs). 19th in UZR and 14th in DRS. So we're pretty middle of the pack.

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 09:58 AM) Fielding percentage is a misleading statistic though. While obviously it is really good not to make errors, other teams have better range overall than us and thus, make more balls put in play outs. And our ability to stop a running game is atrocious. Look who you is talking to bro.

2011 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (SpainSOXfan09 @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 12:14 AM) Sox are now League Leaders in Fielding PCTG with a .988 Average!!! Gordo and AJ have the best %'s. Also 12th in ERA with a 3.79 AVG. I can see us dropping that to about 3.5ish and winding up in the top 10. The fielding percentage is surprising, considering we have Pierre and Teahen on the team. A.J.'s no defensive wizard either.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 16, 2011 -> 06:07 PM) He pitched like Buehrle today. He got ahead, kept the game moving, and pitched to contact. Maybe this is what he should strive to do more of. Because when he doesn't have his good stuff and tries to blow hitters away, it usually doesn't do him too much good.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
I noticed Quentin's gone back to the single toe tap on his swing. I think wite had a post earlier in the year detailing that - about how he's been successful with it. He went away from it during the 100 AB streak where he didn't hit a home run and sucked. He really should just stick to the single toe tap as it looks like it's worked wonders.

POLL:Gordo, is he breaking out of that season long slump?
Even though Beckham's 4-8 in the past two games, he's still looked lost in certain at bats. Like he struck out the two times he got out last night and it wasn't pretty...
