  1. That ass hole McRoberts deserved to get kicked out.
  2. Lilli = fielding extraordinaire.
  3. Hansbrough hits Rose in the head...again.
  4. Hibbert should be ashamed that he got rejected on a dunk by a 6'3 guard.
  5. Boozer's defense is so freaking bad. Bulls in foul trouble now and the lead is down to 4.
  6. They need to stop missing wide open 3s.
  7. Deng gets destroyed on a layup by Hibbert, no call. Rose reaches in a bit on George and strips the ball, foul...
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 08:24 PM) That didn't happen. Moving defender during contact and disrupts Rose to the point of tripping him. It's a block Granger got called on something like that earlier in the game. Deng wasn't exactly set and they gave him the call. It wasn't as severe as the Rose foul, but these refs suck.
  9. BScalabrine24 Brian Scalabrine RT: @chicagobulls "Pacers coach Frank Vogel: "We feel like if we win this game tonight, we'll win the series." - Yeah...so do we #gameover lol

Thus far, Humber has looked eerily similar to the pitcher he was last season in Kansas City (although he was pretty much a long reliever last season). The peripherals look almost the same in a similar amount of innings (His FIP and xFIP are off by less than .1 in the two years), with his ERA benefiting from a low BABIP. His pitch velocity is similar on almost every pitch, but he's using the curve about 10% less this season. He's not necessarily throwing more strikes this year either, he's just getting more swings and misses and even those improvements are marginal at best outside of the 6% whiff rate increase on his changeup. If the scouting reports don't catch up on him and he keeps up what he's been doing (pounding the strike zone at a fair rate, throwing his curve and change effectively), I think we might be looking at a guy who can be a decent 5th starter for the entire season. I said before the season that there is some room for optimism when talking about Humber and I was basing that off of his peripherals in a pretty small sample last year and his velocity improvement on his pitches. It seems like he's brought that with him this year and it has provided very similar results.
  11. QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:49 PM) or that he plain stinks .... I also don't blame Walker for Rios, he just has an awful work ethic. How many MLB seasons can a guy be hyped before people realize that he's plain lazy? The guy's a bum, but we're the suckers who bought his contract, so shame on us. Rios does have the talent to be an all-star type player every year, but it's not like he's tanked completely in every season he's played so far. He was good last year, he was bad in 09, and he had good years from 06-08.
  12. Does nobody get on in front of Bautista? The guy has 7 home runs but only 10 RBI.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 09:24 PM) Rios, Beckham and Morel have mechanics that make it nearly impossible to make consistently solid contact. Beckham and Rios both start with their hands low. This stance worked great for Rios during the first half of last year. It appears his hands are a bit lower right now than it was last year. I think it was Walker who revised Rios' stance and it worked great for a while. Don't know what's wrong now, but it might have something to do with Rios being hurt.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 09:10 PM) Which matchup would you rather have had, Jones vs. Sale or Santos vs. Chavez? It's pretty clear that Jones is the much more feared hitter. We should know from experience. He could easily run into one.
  15. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) San Antonio is in serious trouble now. The Grizzlies are really taking it to them. Good for the Grizzlies. Now they can go get destroyed by OKC in the second round.
  16. I think I'm going to pick up Philip Humber in my fantasy league with J4L just to rub it in his face.
  17. So much for Alex coming out of that slump...
  18. That's the second time that's happened this year. Morel got an RBI out of that in KC.
  19. The ump totally missed the high curve to Tex. That actually was a strike...
  20. Pierzysnki hunts first pitch after a walk and Burnett being wild to Rios. Seriously, does plate discipline mean nothing to this guy?
  21. Rios with a base hit? Harrrr?
  22. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 07:50 PM) Did KW make his speech or whatever today? If he did, then it hasn't been all that effective, that's for sure.
  23. QUOTE (Andrew @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 07:47 PM) This is too good to believe. Humber no hitting the Yanks through 6. I expect this to end in the 7th. He's getting near 100 pitches now and he hasn't been on a high pitch count all year.
