NLDS: Giants vs. Braves
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 11:10 PM) We might be in for an epic NLCS with these two pitching staffs (Philles/Giants). Lincecum vs. Halladay will be beautiful. Philly has a better starting staff and is the better team though.

Video Game Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 10:43 PM) ive been a big PES supporter for a while but lately it has let me down.. the good reviews for this years version are promising.. and on PS3 you can download patches as well to get all the premier league unis in the game and all that jazz. FIFA 11 is a great game and a pretty good sim at that.. i always liked PES for its arcadey qualities.. much easier to pick up and play and have fun with.. is john champion still the commentator? i love how excited he gets over the games. all that being said looks like ill have 2 "soccer" games this year Yeah, John Champion is doing the commentary still. Last year's PES was an improvement, but it was too arcade-like. This one brings some of FIFA's qualities (like a passing system with a meter) and blends it with the arcade gameplay of last year's game. I scored an awesome goal with Xavi today. Iniesta kicked a pass/lob near the middle of the box and Xavi slid and hit the corner of the net. You don't get that in FIFA much. Thing is, PES still lacks a lot of the tricks and modifiers you can do in FIFA.

What a start by Lincecum. 12 Ks. That's the Tim Lincecum I know...

Video Game Catch-All Thread
Finally played PES 11 today. There's roster patches for the PC version, so it almost puts it on par with FIFA. I have to say, the game is ALOT more fun than FIFA and the gameplay is vastly improved over PES 10. It has just the right blend of tactics and straight up blazing with the ball up and down the field. FIFA is far too much passing around and it gets boring after a while.

The only thing I don't like about 2K11 is that there's so many turnovers on passes. Sure, you should be turning the ball over if you air it across the court, but on a fast break, it's so frustrating to have your pass batted in the air because you accidentally passed to the wrong guy who was too far ahead or something.

White Sox targeting Carl Crawford
QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 06:08 PM) LF-Pierre SS-Ramirez RF-Crawford CF-Rios 1B-Daric Barton (acquired from OAK for Quentin + ?) DH-Viciedo + C-AJ 2B-Beckham 3B-Morel With Carter coming up, I wouldn't be surprised if Beane does trade Barton. Barton's a nice player, but you would like more power at 1B than what he provides. Barton's a lot like Mark Grace actually.

Twins Collapse with Home Field Adv.
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 08:22 PM) Peter Gammon's did. Twins can't overcome the Yankees. Nothing new in that. Buster Olney also got a boner when the word "Twins" was mentioned. He ranked their offense over the Yankees' at the start of the year...lol

ALDS: Rays vs. Rangers
If I remember correctly, Garza's had a very good track record against the Rangers. I think Maddon thougth he was at least going to win one game at the Trop. You'd rather have your better pitcher ready to go on the road against a team he's had success with.

Twins Collapse with Home Field Adv.
QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 08:10 PM) Since 2003, the Twins are 2-14 in the postseason. How is that possible? I'll give you last year, they had no business being in the playoffs. But this year you would at least figure they would be able to make it a series. It would be nice if we could actually win the division as many times as they have. We might have a couple of World Series rings by now. Not just one.

ALDS: Twins vs. Yankees
Series is over. The Twins just can't win in the playoffs against NY.

White Sox targeting Carl Crawford
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 05:44 PM) Yawnnnnnnnnnnnn. And that's not a diss at you, Bucket of suck. You're just reporting what you heard. We've got no chance at Crawford. I ain't about to get excited about this. Pretty much.

ALDS: Twins vs. Yankees
Pettitte was getting squeezed that inning. It's rare to see the Yankees on the wrong side of close calls.

Trade Candidates for Kenny this offseason
Ludwick is up for arbitration with the Padres. Maybe we can trade for him to play right field after a disappointing offensive half with San Diego. The guy can field pretty well and he's a lock for an .800 OPS at the Cell. That has value.

NLDS: Phillies vs. Reds
Now that's an impressive no hitter.

Video Game Catch-All Thread
Just played it. It's a lot more difficult than last year's game and the level of control you have in dribbling is pretty cool. That said, nothing beats playing with MJ. In the game they initially start you off with, I dropped 30 some points with him with 5 minute quarters. He scored more than half of my points.

I hope the Yankees offense does enough to cover for their bad staff after Sabathia.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 10:05 PM) I almost want Hanie in there so he gets planted into the turf a few times to shut up the backup QB is always better crew. Oh wait, then we will have the trade revisionists who will want Orton. Because Orton + this line = success. LMAO Orton would get a real concussion after about 2 series. Not just symptoms of one.
