  1. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 09:45 PM) Signing Cespedes, the hottest free agent OF available, complete with the international hype machine surrounding him would certainly extend attendance interest beyond local Cubans. Most people probably don't know who Cespedes is. More Sox fans probably know about Juan Pierre than him.
  2. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 09:43 PM) Has Ronnie earned the right to be in discussion for starting over Rip when he's healthy? Eh, I'd say no. He's been incredibly inconsistent. One night he might score 15 on good shooting. Then he might disappear the next. Rip will at least give you some scoring consistency. Brewer when limited to 20-22 minutes should be good when Rip gets back.
  3. SCAL IN...THE RETURN!
  4. Joakim with a double double. First time in a while.
  5. I have a bad feeling about tomorrow's game against Toronto. Their offense always gives the Bulls fits (Bayless kills Rose). Plus it's a back to back. So it's not looking too good.
  6. Rose really turned it on in the 4th. Turned a bad game into an acceptable one.
  7. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 09:11 PM) Boozer was passed to a few feet from the basket and his first move was to look for someone to pass it to. Luckily he found Rose, but why didn't he take a shot? Afraid to get blocked. Duh.
  8. Wow, Garnett looked like he blatantly fouled Boozer and no call.
  9. Wow...where did the offense go? I hate it when the Bulls go on dry spells.
  10. Please take Korver out. If he's not shooting, there's no use to playing him.
  11. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 08:59 PM) I heard Rose ran into Noah and they called a foul on Rondo. That sounds hilarious to me. Rondo did trip him though. After the fact he ran into Noah.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 08:57 PM) I just do not think nba officiating has any actual guidelines or rules. Just by your whim Yeah, pretty much. I see travels on almost every play.
  13. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 08:27 PM) Also have Betances and Banuelos waiting in the wings. Great depth. Somebody brought this up on another forum. But the Yankees should have traded Felix, not Pineda. You let the Yankees pay Felix what he's worth the next 3 years (60 million over that time) and you keep Pineda, who's cheap and has the potential to be just as good. In return, you get a boat load of the Yanks' prospects, including Montero, Betances, Banuelos, etc. This frees up a lot of money for them to go sign Fielder and you build your farm even more. Of course, there's no guarantee that the Yankees will give Seattle their entire farm for Felix.
  14. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 08:06 PM) The Wizards are surprisingly not good at basketball. Who'da thunk it? John Lucas nearly put a triple double on them. Granted, he did take 28 shots, but still.
  15. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 08:02 PM) Kuroda is one year for $10m Fair value. He's a 3 win-ish pitcher. So he's worth about $15 million in terms of WAR $.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 07:40 PM) Dollar value? Wow, the Yankees rotation just went from crap to good. 1. CC 2. Pineda 3. Kuroda 4. Nova 5. Hughes/Burnett/Garcia That's solid.
  17. Why is Rose taking fade-aways?
  18. And Joakim is finally playing good defense.
  19. Damn, Boozer just faked Bass out.
  20. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 07:19 PM) Rubio started tonight! Now we just need to get Darko and Wes Johnson out of there and we'll be cooking with gas. Williams should be starting. Love could play the 5.
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 07:15 PM) Dumb D-Rose 3 attempt #1. He made up for it with two great passes.
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 05:58 PM) So anyway, f*** the Celtics. Go Bulls! D-Rose to play. Good, it'll actually be worth watching then.
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 09:06 AM) The AMOLED is about 100x better looking. EDIT: and that's coming from a guy who doesn't have one, but has friends with them. I also learned yesterday that the Sensation gets a lot of dust under the screen, which never happens with an S-AMOLED since the screen is fused with the glass. Yeah, I'm definitely leaning towards the Galaxy S II. I can't stand dust under a screen, especially if I'm going to spend $400 on a phone.
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 05:41 PM) Not sure what that stat is, is it assist/touches? The other things that will play into it, at the percent level, are what kind of guys each player gets to pass the ball to and where guys fit in the offense. No one is going to leave Derrick Rose open to double Luol Deng, whereas a great number of people would leave someone open to double Melo, thus creating an assist opportunity for Melo in a case where Deng has a clean shot. (And yes, this still does not mean that Deng is better than Melo, I'm only disputing the use of that statistic). AST% = 100 * AST / (((MP / (Tm MP / 5)) * Tm FG) - FG) So it sort of takes touches into account (with FG), but not completely.
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 05:34 PM) Now wait, I actually agree with you that Melo >>>> Deng, but there's a layer here you've forgotten...and that's touches of the ball, and how the ball is in people's hands. If Carmelo is in an offense where the ball is in his hands a lot more (almost certainly true), and the team builds the offense around Carmelo as an offensive threat, then Melo's assist numbers are going to be higher simply from him having the ball in his hands more. Carmelo does have a higher assist % (by like 4%).
