2010 AL Central Catch-All
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 06:35 PM) What's crazy is, if they REALLY wanted to, they'd have enough pieces in the farm to acquire Prince or Dunn and slide him over to 1B in place of the garbage Chris Davis. And Bengie Molina is somehow hitting again. Andrus isn't a bad leadoff man either.

Staying Pat
QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 06:34 PM) They gotta do something...this is the most frustrating 1st place White Sox team of all time I'd say 03 was a little more frustrating. That team had so much talent and absolutely just tanked. They were wildly inconsistent on offense and every 5th day was a struggle because they'd have Felix Diaz or Arnie Munoz pitching. I hate how Kenny felt the need to go get Roberto Alomar when we had pitching issues.

2010 AL Central Catch-All
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 06:30 PM) Is there a more terrifying 2-6 in baseball than what Texas throws out there every night? Young Kinsler Hamilton Guerrero Cruz I would hate to face this team. The fact that Cruz hits 6th is scary. This is like our 06 offense, but even better.

QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 06:31 PM) Contract year. Makes perfect sense. Your skills usually don't increase at age 34 no matter how hard you try.

Highlight Vids from 05 and more
QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 06:28 PM) Nope. I think I remember 3E8 saying he couldn't make the last 3. I can't remember why. We were all disappointed cause they were awesome. Damn, the first three were great.

Highlight Vids from 05 and more
QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 06:20 PM) I added a couple more. ESPN's opening montage from 06. DJ's famous "GONE", the 'regular' intro that was played at opening day 06, and I just found the banner reveal that somebody recorded from 2006 opener. I wish I could remember who that was. There's no July, August, and September highlight vids like the April, May, and June ones?

Why are the Cubs so comfortable with letting a piece of crap GM ruin their team some more?

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 06:00 PM) Balta, Am I reading your post right that you think Konerko is "overachieving"? If so I don't agree. Paulie has shown consistency in numbers and was an all-star before this year too. Konerko is overachieving. Nobody expected a .400 wOBA season from him like this. If this season were to end today, Konerko would finish with the highest wOBA of his career at age 34. It doesn't make sense.

Beckham Back to the 2 Hole?
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 02:55 PM) You know what's scary though? If someone told you before the season Pierre had a .329 OBP, one would probably assume he was hitting .290ish. He's at .258. If his average continues to rise, hopefully we'll see that OBP move up too. His OBP is padded by HBP, don't get too excited. He doesn't have a great control over those. His walk rate is still low.

Adam Dunn Trade rumor thread
I don't think Rizzo has too many suitors outside of the Sox so he's just trying to drive up the price.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 08:42 AM) I still think Shaq is a very bad fit for the Bulls roster. Griffey was a horrible fit for the Sox back in 08 and a lot of people were still okay with it. I want to see Shaq in a Bulls jersey for the hell of it TBH with you.

Really like the Watson deal. He's a solid backup who will put up nearly average PER numbers. Get one more big and the team is set.

Does Kenny dare to consider making this trade?
QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 10:18 AM) People need to understand the trade was great, the extension was a bit rushed and looking bad now. Can this change? Yes, I still think Mark can produce. He has the ability to be more than mediocre. But until then, he's very mediocre. If he was mediocre on offense and mediocre on defense at 3B, he'd be a pretty valuable player. But he can't defend for s***, so yeah...

2010 AL Central Catch-All
If the Tigers don't make some moves, they're as good as done with the schedule they have for the next 28 days. They have 14 road games against the Yankees, Red Sox, Rays, and the Sox. Talk about the possibility of getting your ass whopped. They're also 16-29 on the road, so...good chance they're done by mid-August.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 09:28 AM) He re-injured it while sliding into 3rd on sunday. So he's still day to day?

Beckham Back to the 2 Hole?
You have to start moving Beckham up in the lineup. You're wasting his bat in the 9th spot.

Does Kenny dare to consider making this trade?
QUOTE (hawksox13 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 09:49 AM) Obviously Teahen isn't the number one option out there, but he can probably be had for a couple mid level prospects. Aramis Ramirez is still owed a lot of money and has two years left on his deal. I don't think the Tigers will want to give up good prospects and be obligated to pay Ramirez what he's do the rest of this year and next. I think they said on the radio he's set to make $14M next season, where Teahen is going to make $5M. The pricetag on Ramirez should make him cheaper, if anything. The Cubs are looking to dump salary, they're not going to ask for too much I imagine.

The Tigers would rather go after Aramis Ramirez or someone of that sort, not Mark Teahen.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
So is Quentin's wrist still bothering him? It appears Hudson had a good game (I'm looking at his pitch f/x charts), he threw his fastball, slider, and change for strikes nearly 65% of the time and got a good whiff rate on his change and slider. Good to see him bounce back, even if the Mariners can't hit.

Beckham Back to the 2 Hole?
QUOTE (soxfan-kwman @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 05:13 PM) You know a guy by the name of Joe Crede batted 8th for us & gave our line-up a lot of clutch hits. I'm still torn, not sure if Becks should stay in the 9th hole. Joe Crede hit 8th because he was a very mediocre hitter who didn't get on base enough and would hit the occasional home run mixed in with a bunch of infield pop ups. Yes, he thrived under high leverage situations, but there was a good reason why he hit 8th. Gordon Beckham is not the same hitter as Joe Crede and I'm glad he's not.

It's pretty clear at this point...
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 19, 2010 -> 05:13 PM) Those guys all signed with the Rays though, so they didn't have to give up any players to get them. What chw42 is saying is that the Royals will give up players to bring these terrible players into the fold, and that really is a shame. Their bullpen would look a hell of a lot better with Leo Nunez in it, I can guarantee that much. Leo Nunez and Ramon Ramirez are good pitchers and he traded them away for Mike Jacobs and Coco Crisp. Jacobs was about to be non-tendered by the Marlins and he actually gave up talent for him...
