White Sox vs Royals - 7:10 PM
Linebrink's literally a one pitch pitcher right now. He can't put hitters away without a secondary pitch.

White Sox vs Royals - 7:10 PM
Ozzie doesn't think we can win.

White Sox vs Royals - 7:10 PM
We're probably going to lose this game by 1.

More proof that Ozzie can't manage a bullpen.

^The problem is, Jones has been so damn bad recently that Kotsay's actually a better option right now. Down the road, Jones is probably a better choice, because he's most likely going to start hitting better.

NBA Offseason Thread
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 06:32 PM) K.C. Johnson - "And with the local product currently making Chicago his free-agent recruiting base, league sources told the Tribune the Bulls are finalizing details on a Thursday meeting with Wade at the United Center." This is too crazy.

Kotsay runs like Paul Konerko from what I've seen.

2010 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) When you factor in defense (he's throw out 52% of attempted base stealers this year), there hasn't been a better all-around catcher in baseball. His catcher plus/minus is a +9. Insane.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 02:59 PM) Who would you rather be playing today? I hate how people continually do this. Alexei would be lost against Greinke, Jones has been beyond brutal and our other option is Lillibridge. I still want Alexei in there for his D. Play Vizquel at 3B and DH Viciedo.

Damn it, why does Ozzie ALWAYS play Kotsay?

QUOTE (Real @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 01:52 PM) IsDunn servicable at 1B? Just scares me a bit with Alexeis low throws When anybody asks you about Dunn's defense, you always respond with "terrible" or a similar synonym.

The history of the Soxtalk Whipping Boy
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 01:03 PM) C- Toby Hall 1B- Mark Kotsay 2B- D'Angelo Jimenez SS- Orlando Cabrera (Not really sure here. Can't possibly hate Valentin or Graffanino, Alexei is boneheaded but likable. Others like Alex Cintron were too irrelevant.) 3B- Wilson Betemit OFs- Darin Erstad/Dewayne Wise/Nick Swisher/Rob Mackowiak/Timo Perez SP- Javier Vazquez SP- Danny Wright SP- Orlando Hernandez SP- Scott Schoeneweis SP- Batrolo Colon (mainly round 2 and his mysterious disappearances) Bullpen...Where to begin? Well, with Randy Williams obviously, but we have had some awful relievers over the years Randy Williams Cliff Politte Mike Jackson Rick White (not really a whipping boy, but man he was bad) Billy Koch Scott Linebrink Mike MacDougal Jose Panigua Jose Vizcaino (probably not as bad as the rest, but when your nick name is the "Jizz Can" you gonna have a spot here) Damaso Marte (another one who who wasn't terrible, but a whipping boy in 2005 he was) Where the hell did he end up?

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 11:58 AM) They're overdue for a stretch in which they are extremely unclutch then. For some reason, it doesn't always happen with them. They're a really weird outlier.

There was an article on FanGraphs the other week about them being extremely clutch. Kinda makes sense.

The Angels have been extremely clutch... Yes, clutch.

Rays Designate Hank Blalock For Assignment
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 11:40 AM) And the guy has pretty much saved our asses this year. So if he can do that, we should probably sign Blalock too.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 11:41 AM) Rangers, Angels, Braves, Mets, etc The Braves have one in Glaus. The Mets have one in Ike Davis. The Angels I can understand. Same goes for the Rangers. But there's also guys like Fielder on the market. I'm sure nobody's looking at Adam LaRoche as option #1. If Kenny makes him the #1 priority, it can definitely be done.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 11:34 AM) Which should make him a lot more desirable for quite a few teams one would think. How many teams need a 1B or a DH like we do?
