  1. That would have been the perfect swinging bunt.
  2. He just sawed him off.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) Different arm angle though...I'd say Hudson throws harder but McCarthy had better curve. I don't like Hudson's mechanics. Too much bend in the elbow.
  4. With the base open there, you might as well just walk Cust.
  5. That change just dropped off a table.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) I think that's what happens when he's not 100%. More and more, I think his timing depends on his health. We saw that after his wrist got hit, that was the perfect example. His hand hurt, and suddenly he was a little off on his timing. That makes a lot of sense. Let's hope that wrist heals up soon.
  7. Hudson's changeup is super, super nasty when he's got control of it.
  8. Carlos has been so close to hitting these balls hard. He's just missing them, kind of like early in the year...
  9. Paulie's mastering that opposite field double.
  10. Alexei with a nice hit.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 02:33 PM) Not that I disagree with anything you said, but do you think the voters even know what WAR and wOBA is, let alone use that as a basis, for whether they vote somebody in or not? Sabermetrics have come a LONG way in the last 10 years, but they're not quite yet that mainstream. And they may never affect hall of fame voting since most of the voters are really old school. But Dawson getting in isn't the worst thing to happen, that's all I was trying to say.
  12. Let's hope we can be 4 games up on the Tigers by the end of the day. That, along with their injuries and tough schedule should make this a two team race pretty soon.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 02:34 PM) That sure didnt look like it was going to be a homer... Musta been the wind.
  14. Lyle Overbay! 5-3 Jays.
  15. Downs gets out of a huge jam by striking out Sizemore and Larish. Tigers and Jays tied at 3.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) It's worth noting that the pitchers have given him a lot more help this year too. Gavin's gotten a lot better at moving to the plate, D1 and MB have solid moves to 1b, etc. And he's NOT catching Freddy.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 01:24 PM) Use Firefox. Download "Adblock". Right click on his signature. Select "Adblock image". Thanks. I already had Adblock, it finally becomes useful.
  18. Kim Jung Il is a Bulls fan. http://www.deseretnews.com/blog/73/1000956...ear-Threat.html
  19. A.J. has a +2 in Plus/Minus Stolen Base Runs, good for 5th in MLB and first in the American League. Not bad at all.
  20. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 01:07 PM) Pierre LF Ramirez SS Rios CF Konerko 1B Quentin DH Pierzynski C Viciedo 3B Jones RF Beckham 2B Hudson P And I also like this lineup.
  21. Toronto up 2-0.
  22. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 12:42 PM) Twins starting lineup today does not have Span, Hudson, Mauer, and Morneau. Obviously Morneau hasn't been playing but missing those 4 players in your lineup today to start the game is big. Please get a win Baltimore! Wow and I thought Ozzie's Sunday lineups looked bad.
  23. We've seen Braden once before. In that game, he went 7 innings, giving up 3 runs, 7 hits, a walk, a home run, and 4 Ks. Vs. Current Sox Splits
  24. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 01:08 PM) I'm certain Viciedo is involved in any Sox trade talk right now. They have to keep his value as high as possible. If he goes 0-10 with 6 K's, Kenny's plan, whatever it is goes out the window. You really think 10 at bats is going to change a team's mind about a prospect?
  25. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 25, 2010 -> 01:36 AM) I know it was discussed when the voting results were announced, but I just wanted to take one last chance to say that it's a joke that Andre Dawson is going into the Hall of Fame. Dawson wasn't a great offensive player. His career wOBA is .352. If .352 gets you into the hall of fame, then there should be a lot of people in the Hall. The thing with him is that he was a great fielder. He has a career total zone of +69. That makes his career WAR at 62, which is almost hall worthy if you ask me. To me, the hall of fame cut-off is 75 WAR. Because if you put up an average of 5 WAR for 15 seasons, you are one of the best the game has seen and you deserve to be in the hall.
