QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:19 PM) Just because that guy on twitter said it? If it was going to be at Allan Houston's house (now apparently, it isn't), then it probably would have been the Knicks. Is LeBron gonna go to Houston's house, who played a whole decade for the Knicks, and say I'm not going to New York?

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:10 PM) You're under-selling the Bucks quite a bit. They won 46 games last year with a rookie PG, Bogut missing 13 games and Michael Redd playing only 18 games. They also went 22-8 after Salmons joined the roster. With Jennings getting another year of experience, a wing trio of Salmons/Maggette/possibly Redd and Bogut up front, they have a legit shot at 50 wins. Considering the Bulls don't have a shooting guard or a legit scoring big at the moment, they're hardly a lock to beat Milwaukee. Salmons also tanked with us after he did something similar with the Bulls the previous year. I don't expect him to put up anywhere close to the numbers he did last year. Milwaukee's a good team, but I don't know if they're a 50 win team.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 02:08 PM) why? the celtics were the worst team in the league, and added 2 superstars and won a championship....lebron has long wanted to go to new york for financial and marketing reasons, them getting amare provided him more basketball reason to go there i dont think people realize that lebron doesnt need much to win a championship...amare is certainly enough IMO...he had absolutely jack s*** in cleveland and still nearly won one With Wade and Bosh in Miami now, yes he does.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:50 PM) Just for reference, Paulie was in the home run derby in Milwaukee in 2002. His splits that year: Pre ASG: .328/.379/.571/.950 Post ASG: .270/.332/.402/.734 20 of his 27 home runs were pre ASG as well, and 71 of his 104 RBI. Yup, this is the reason why nobody should participate in the derby.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:55 PM) I just have this feeling Lebron is going to be a Knick. That the Bulls had him but Amare swayed him. Letting Amare Stoudemire sway you is weak. I might have thought differently before his injuries, but not anymore.

The only good thing that comes out of LeBron going anywhere but Cleveland is that the Bulls will easily win their division.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:44 PM) The Angels broadcasters yesterday mentioned that Paulie was going to be in the home run derby. I hadn't heard that anywhere else. Can anyone confirm? Maybe they know something that we don't? Do not want. There's a reason why Hamilton isn't doing it this year.

Why can't Viciedo hit behind Quentin? And good to see that Carlos can play.

QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) If I was Lebron, I'd MUCH rather go with the Nets than the Knicks. I don't think most people realize the potential power Prokhorov brings to the table in terms of helping market players globally. IMO, if LBJ wants to be a billionaire, the Nets are his quickest path there. And they're in a better situation. They have good, young talent. Devin Harris is one of the best PGs in the East. Brook Lopez has potential. A 30 win Knicks team w/o Lee and w/ Amare probably makes them an 8th seed playoff team at best. That's nothing interesting.

We're in no position to trade Hudson with Peavy going down. This is very interesting.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:34 PM) I respectfully disagree with that point. Chicago is enormous, but New York on it's own planet. How many New York Knicks went world wide like MJ? Ask somebody in China about Patrick Ewing and they'll have no freaking idea. Ask somebody in China about Michael Jordan and their faces will light up.

Why the hell would LeBron go to New York? Their team sucks, even with Amare. And endorsement money wouldn't be much different than if he went to Chicago.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 11:13 AM) I will tell you one thing. If LeBron signs with the Heat as well, the NBA will become unbearable for the next five seasons. It'll be one, big, major suckfest of the Heat on ESPN and TNT for an EXTREMELY long time. And they still won't lead the league in attendance.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 11:03 AM) completely different sport and structure both in salary and competition, if the White Sox got to those positions they automatically have a chance to win a WS, the Bulls can continually get to the playoffs as a mid to low seed for the next 5 years and maybe even pull an upset or two in the East, but still be very far away from winning an NBA title. Cardinals from '06, i believe, are a good example of a team scraping into the playoffs and everything working right for them and they win a WS, Marlins have never won a division but have won 2 WS titles, however when's the last "out of nowhere" NBA team that won a title? I think I was just so sick of what I saw for 5 years from 1999 to 2004 that I don't ever want to go back to that again, that's no entertainment. That said, the Bulls do need to play this smart. They have to have enough to re-sign Rose and Noah.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:53 AM) Really? I would rather them be one of the worst teams in the NBA than get stuck in that cycle. Watching any sport is supposed to be entertainment. So you're saying if the Sox couldn't win a championship, but kept on getting to the ALDS or maybe the ALCS once or twice, you'd rather be the worst team in baseball instead of that?

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:46 AM) Derrick Rose, Carlos Boozer, and Joakim Noah isn't winning any NBA titles. I'm not sure how you can say they will. At this point, I'll be fine with winning in the first round of the playoffs and a chance at the eastern conference finals.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:38 AM) You're not winning an NBA championship with Carlos Boozer as your 2nd best player and making either near max or max money. We'll be like the Utah Jazz of the East, lol.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:27 AM) Why would Ray Allen leave the Celtics, the team he's won a championship with and feels confortable with, to come to the Bulls? To play with Carlos Boozer, and Luol Deng? And do you really think that this team would compete with Cleveland, Miami or Boston? I don't think so. Ray Allen would do wonders, but yeah, he's not leaving a great situation in Boston.
