QUOTE (Vance Law @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 12:12 PM) Not that their opinion has any bearing, but here's Fangraphs on what LaRoche would likely cost: "Because his numbers have taken a dip since his strong April, Arizona will likely have to take a B- or C-level prospect for LaRoche." http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/t...deserve-a-shot/ Less that what I expected.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 10:35 AM) I couldn't tell for sure, but it looked like the ball deflected off his face to Borbon so unless he plays soccer in his spare time, I doubt he was trying to do much of anything. Or maybe I just need to watch the replay again It would have been funnier if it went off his face.

TMK! BTW, that ball Vlad hit that Rios almost got to really shows just how much range Alex has. There's only a couple of CFers that can get remotely close to a ball like that. And Hamilton's play in the 9th...that wasn't the best read and he should have trapped the ball instead of trying to deflect it to Borbon.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 03:58 PM) @LeBrontoChicago - Sources: Bulls Have Carlos Boozer locked up if they want him! Link To come! The Link That's good to know. At this point, with Bosh trying to make nothing but money and Amare going to NY for a max deal, Boozer makes the most sense since he won't get a max and we would still have room for LeBron.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 03:57 PM) After looking at this lineup up and down, we need a lot more help than just 1 bat. This offense would still suck if we just added Dunn or Fielder. As for Freddy, whether we are in it or not, I'd be more than willing to trade him for a decent prospect. Some team in bad need for pitching would probably give up something decent for him, and while he has been solid for us, he shouldn't be considered a key piece of the rotation if we make a run for it or not. The only way we are gonna make a run for a playoff spot is with the front 4. If the front 4 don't preform, it won't matter what the f*** Freddy does. You're absolutely correct on the bat thing. We need a guy like DeJesus up top.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 03:53 PM) Oh, I know Quentin is no master at reads or routes either. But from what I've seen, Quentin is better at getting good reads and takes better routes than DeJesus. But DeJesus makes up for that and some with his speed. And his arm is well below average, especially for RF. Accuracy also counts. Carlos might have a good arm, but he's inaccurate as hell.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 03:21 PM) I'm sorry, but I'm not buying the 15 run difference. Would DeJesus provide more range, sure. But he is far from a graceful OF himself and is not that good at judging fly balls and taking good routes. And, as already mentioned, his arm is lacking. I agree that DeJesus probably would save more runs than Quentin due to the fact he has more range and thus cut down on some doubles. But I don't see it being that much of a difference, based on other things: Range = DeJesus Arm = Quentin Reads = Quentin Routes = Quentin If Quentin was actually making good throws and holding runners, I'd probably prefer him in RF this season over DeJesus. However, Quentin, while his arm is stronger, hasn't made enough solid throws and assists from the OF for me to prefer him. However, it would be nice to have a defensive stud in RF. Quentin doesn't get great reads or run the best routes, that's part of why his range sucks. Range ratings are the combination of speed, reads, and route running, they all lend a hand in the equation. And what's all this crap about DeJesus having a terrible arm, it's not even bad... UZR ARM Rating has him as a +6.1 over his career. He has a slightly below average arm for a center fielder and a right fielder, but he has a very good left fielder's arm.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 03:03 PM) Just my thoughts: I dont think the BUlls go after Bosh unless they have LeBron. Oh, I know. But I'm just saying, if no LeBron, then I would definitely take Bosh and Turkoglu.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 01:26 PM) Bernsie just said apparently there is some mumblings about the Raptors being willing to take Deng (plus probably picks and other players) for Bosh and Hedo Turkoglu. Well, that seems like a good backup plan in case James says no. We get ourselves a decent outside shooter and Bosh.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:34 AM) Um, he could get killed. Depends on how much money the cartels had on the game. But he's just at likely to get killed by a random bum. He probably won't die unless argentina advances. He plays for an Italian series A club, it's not like he's piss poor and a nobody.

Mauer's an opposite field hitter. His power is to the opposite field and up the middle. He very rarely pulls his home runs. So that short porch in right doesn't help him as much as Morneau and Kubel.
