I was looking at Cease's Savant page, his curve and slider heat map is pretty much all blue. Like it's all over the strike zone and outside the zone. The amount of non competitive pitches he throws is alarming.

Cease gets a lot of his swings and misses on pitches out of the zone. That doesn't mix well when he faces a patient lineup.

The LeMahieu double and that Odor fly ball both carried a lot. Both guys didn't think they hit it well just by looking at their reactions after the swing.

He's never pitched a full MLB season, I wouldn't be surprised if he drops off due to fatigue. Good thing Eloy didn't kill himself there.
