Imagine if he had gotten that excited, just for Leury to rob that homer. Had they not put the wood on top of the fence, Leury might have had a chance. Instead he jumped straight into the wood at the top of the fence. I almost wonder if he hurt himself there cause he got pinch hit for by Mendick.

Rust and terrible pitch selection. I'm not sure why we kept thinking we can get Judge out on high and outside fastballs in the zone. The dude is 6'7 with like a 7'0 wingspan. His plate coverage is insane. Letting him just extend his arms on velocity is incredibly dumb, especially when you already went to that pitch once in both at bats that he homered in. I'm also sure Liam didn't want to hang the slider to Stanton, but I think you gotta realize that Stanton's bat speed isn't what it used to be. If anything, you challenge Stanton with velocity and you don't speed his bat up.

Could you guys have imagined how miserable tonight and tomorrow would have been had we lost? Having an off-day after a loss like that would be torture. Thank you TA!

That was easily Liam's worst game in 3 years. He had said leading up to this that he hoped he doesn't give up the first homer in Iowa. I think also he said as long as it's not a tying homer, it's ok. Well, it appears that kind of mindset isn't real helpful to a closer. I'll chalk it up to him being a little off this game, but we really should think about trying Kimbrel in the closer's role to see if he gets some of his velocity back. He just doesn't have the it factor in the 8th it seems.

My wife doesn't know a lot about baseball, but when TA hit that homer, we both started jumping up and down. That had to be one of the best moments of the year.

Besides the Sox, the real winner tonight was Major League Baseball and Rob Manfred. From a neutral standpoint, could that game have been any better? Lots of dingers and a walk of homer by an extremely marketable guy on a young playoff team.
