Garret Crochet was removed from the March 31 game against the Reds with arm trouble. Put any updates in here.

It's absolutely criminal how they handled Crochet.  You can't have such a young pitcher throw at max effort under the intensity of a big league game and expect his arm to hold up.  There's a reason wh

They did Crochet a disservice with the way they chose to him develop.  They did what was best for the organization instead of what's best for the player.  He should have been sent tp the minors and gi

This sucks buts it’s hard to make the argument that it’s anyone’s fault, in particular. Until we make some serious advances in injury prevention, this shit just happens a lot to pitchers, especially w

Not good. Amazing how bad that draft is looking if this ends up being worse case scenario.

Ughhhh.  Guess now this makes Rick overinvesting in relievers look a little better?  Hopefully nothing serious.

Based on the description the Reds radio gave, I will be pleasantly surprised if he pitches this year.

Basically no young pitcher who throws that hard makes it all the way through without needing TJS.

It is what it is.

The off-season that keeps on giving.

Made it sound like he was headed for TJ didn't it?

They didn't do any tests on the field. Not a good sign.

I believe we are all thinking that.

He's never getting out of the bullpen now. If only the Sox could have restrained themselves in 2020.

Doesn’t seem like he was ever going to handle being a starter.

shocker

?

Ugh, felt like TJS was inevitable for him, I just didn't expect it to be this soon. Seems like he's gonna stay a reliever.

They've taken four lefties who were relievers or profiled by scouts as relievers in the first round, Royce Ring, Aaron Poreda and Crochet.

Of course, the other was Chris Sale.

There's nothing to test in a meaningless ST game.  Pull him out immediately is the right call regardless of the result.

The AT will typically do a couple of tests to see what may be going on. He just talked to him for an extended period of time then left.

Would be nice to have Jace Fry back, but we'll just have to wait and see how Sousa does.

Another option would be Keuchel in the second half.

Everything is speculation right now. Still waiting for the official statement

It's the White Sox, so we pretty much have come to expect nothing short of amputation, avascular necrosis or the need for new surgeries yet to be invented...although Andrew Vaughn seemingly bucked that trend.

He was hurt in 2020 after throwing 7 innings. This was inevitable IMO. Making him a starter was always a pipedream , but he can still be very valuable in the bullpen if he can stay healthy.
