Sox at Twins 8/9, 7:10
I'm eager to see how Lynch does tomorrow. The Yankees aren't an offensive juggernaut right now with their COVID issues, but they usually destroy inexperienced pitchers.

36 degree launch angle was just a little too high. If it's a few degrees lower, it's probably gone. If Hernandez had this kind of batted ball profile with the old ball, he would have hit 30+ homers every year.

That Carlos Hernandez is holding the Yankees to 0 runs and 2 hits through 6. Turns out he's just good now.

Cesar just missed that

Seby's putting together much better ABs than when he first came up. He's still limited, but he at least makes pitchers throw more than 3 pitches now. It's also pretty telling what the team thinks of Collins when he can't even get a start with Lucas starting and a righty on the mound.

Shitty way to lose a no hitter.

That ball is nowhere near gone in Wrigley if it gets into that deep corner. I think RF at Target Field is actually shorter than GRF, it's just very tall.

Lucas actually throwing that curveball for a strike in the zone?

Did he really throw 3 change ups in a row and expect Kepler not to hit it hard?

2020 Abreu would have 30+ homers by now.

Cincy would probably be even closer if they had any semblance of a stable closer.

It's crazy how he's gone from throwing 1/3 change ups to maybe 1/5 change ups.

I haven't been watching, how's Gio looking? I saw he had a few lineouts the first time through.

Poor Burrows man. First we made him puke on the mound then we put up 7 on him in 1.1 innings.

I wouldn't have as much of an issue with it if Vaughn didn't also just get a day off on Saturday.

FanGraphs Details Vaughn's Adjustment for his Turn-around
https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-adjustment-that-stopped-andrew-vaughns-whiffs/ I vividly remembered how Vaughn's hands looked very different pre-swing in early July. Turns out I wasn't the only one who noticed. I also remember posters like fathom saying his swing was loopy earlier in the year. If you drop your hands like he did pre-adjustment, I can definitely see how you end up with a loopier and more upper-cut swing. While he may be giving up some power by having less motion in his load, he's getting much better contact. He was already hitting the ball hard as-is, he can afford a little bit less exit velocity for better quality contact. The article says that Vaughn's pitch recognition hasn't necessarily gotten better, he's still swinging at breaking pitches out of the zone. But I think if you've been watching him for the past month he's done a much better job of taking off-speed pitches opposite field and not trying to pull everything.

The last time Burrows threw against us, he barfed on the mound. We also miss Maeda and Pineda this series. Let's get a series win before the real tough stretch starts.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
It was so great to see us absolutely destroy the opposing starter. We've been letting bad starters throw 6 innings of 2 run ball for way too long. Hopefully this gets us going for a very rough 3 weeks coming up on the schedule.

I don't think so. Color guy will probably be Perez. Ravich might be PBP.

Did we really strike out 15 batters a game? Goddamn.
