  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 03:40 PM) Gallo and Profar would be interesting as pieces 3-4 in such a deal. If you stuck Mendez in there (MLB.com's #55 prospect) to make it a 4-pack, you've got a deal that intrigues me enough that I'm sitting down and talking to my scouts about it. Yeah but if the offers are really 95% of the Sale offers, then I don't know how competitive that kind of offer is.
  2. QUOTE (daa84 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 03:39 PM) jeff passan from yahoo on with waddle and silvy said the sox are getting offers about 95% of what they got for sale. some teams preferred Quintana. Sign me up for that. The key to all this is to sell high on these guys, and now feels like the peak value for Jose. Same with eaton. Absolutely. Sell on Eaton now. He'll never reach 6 WAR territory again. He's just not that kind of player.
  3. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 03:37 PM) I am just not a fan of the Rangers system. Gallo yuck. Profar has like 3 years of control and has Boras as his agent. I'd be all for a Mazara package though. Had they not given up half of their decent prospects for Lucroy and Beltran, their system would be way more interesting.
  4. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 03:36 PM) Giolito, Robles + for Q and Robertson. Could it get done, if that's what was on the table for Sale? Sale went for more than that, so I think that's fair for Q and Robertson. Q has more years of control and Robertson fills a big need for the Nats. I think one thing that I'm realizing is that now with Sale off the table, that's one less guy you can acquire. Teams are gonna be flocking for Quintana and might end up overpaying for him.
  5. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 03:18 PM) What about the Rangers? Mazara, Gallo, Profar are interesting pieces. Mazara is the only remotely interesting guy out of that bunch. I think Gallo is a lost cause. He just doesn't make enough contact. Profar's been around for a while and still hasn't panned out.
  6. QUOTE (South Sider @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:44 PM) They'd better be willing to pony up if they want Adam Eaton. Eaton is never going to be more valuable than he is right now. He's coming off a 6 WAR season when his true talent is probably 3.5-4 wins. It's doubtful he can repeat his defensive season last year. With the Cards' history of developing really good hitters out of their system, the Sox can probably get a top 5 guy and then a few complimentary pieces that can develop more than their tools show.
  7. Eaton could get at least one top 5 Cards prospect outside of Reyes. Maybe Weaver/Bader as the main piece?
  8. Could Q possibly fetch Robles? We're definitely not getting both Giolito and Robles, but I feel like one of them MIGHT be possible if we package Robertson in too.
  9. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:21 PM) Top three prospects in baseball since MLB Pipeline showed up: 2011: Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, Matt Moore 2012: Jurickson Profar, Dylan Bundy, Wil Myers 2013: Byron Buxton, Oscar Taveras, Miguel Sano 2014: Byron Buxton, Carlos Correa, Kris Bryant 2015: Byron Buxton, Corey Seager, Lucas Giolito We should just forget about 2012. And also, the #2 prospects are actually better than the #1s lol
  10. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:12 PM) So our two best hitting prospects strikeout a lot but also have a good eye at the plate. Hopefully they can cut down on the strikeouts because those worry me A LOT Didn't seem to matter for the Cubs.
  11. This is kinda funny because the Dodgers basically had Frazier last year.
  12. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:09 PM) I've been holding my breath waiting for that funky delivery to finally catch up with Chris. Hope I'm wrong, hate to see him get hurt, but at least if he does the Sox dodged a bullet It might never catch up with him. The guy's a freak of nature. I don't think injury risk was that high on the minds of teams that were willing to give up half their farm system for him. He's never had any issues with his arm, especially not as of late. He had some dead arm periods/starts when he first converted to a starter, but that was it.
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:08 PM) The Sox totally f***ed the Nationals last night. KW hates Mike Rizzo. They either leaked to Rosenthal and Heyman or the Nats did after thinking they had something locked up. Good. Screw Mike Rizzo. He's still a dick for that EJax Adam Dunn stuff.
  14. QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:03 PM) Apparently our targets were Betts and Benintendi + in July, that's why no deal. Buster Olney ✔ @Buster_ESPN White Sox get a big haul from BOS -- and it's a step down for what they asked for in July, which included Betts and Benintendi. Yeah that wasn't going to happen...
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:52 PM) Let's see where Devers, Robles and Basabe are three years from now. White Sox BA Top Ten just added three top five or six guys now. With Moncada, Collins and Basabe...three guys who could be real impact hitters. Then Kopech, Burdi, Fulmer and Hansen are all at least intriguing. At the bery least, we're stockpiling the best future bullpen in the game. Our system moved up 5 ranks today, easily. We should have a top 5 system at the start of the season if we play our hand right.
  16. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:29 PM) Moncada starts with the Sox next year, correct? Any chance he starts in AAA? He's never played in AAA before. I think he'll start in AAA.
  17. QUOTE (Sockin @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 12:28 PM) Trade Quintana to Nats now and get Giolito There is no way we can get Giolito for Quintana.
  18. Red Sox would need to give one of Benintendi/Moancada for this to work IMO. I like JBJ, but, he's only got 4 years of team control left.
  19. Giolito's stock really plummeted after he was awful in 4 starts last year. He's got the tools, but who knows if it'll translate well to the Majors.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 05:21 PM) Just finally discovered it, but the BBC version of Sherlock might one of the greatest shows ever. It is so incredibly well done. I just love it. We binged all three seasons in about a week. Just in time for the new season on new year's. Lucky you. I think the best part of British television, especially Sherlock, is that the episodes are long and they're done airing in a few weeks. Oh and make sure you watch the Christmas Special The Abominable Bride.
  21. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 04:40 PM) I don't get the benefits of the PS4 Pro over the regular PS4 other than 4K capabilities. That's a big deal for a lot of people. Once you see stuff in 4K, everything else looks like s***.
  22. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 10:50 AM) https://mobile.twitter.com/ChrisDeLuca/stat...813157398777856 Never change Rondo... If it took Rondo to get Wade to sign here, then whatever. But he should be gone next year.
  23. I hate Rex Ryan and I hate Mike Gillislee. Shady could have 2 TDs right now, but got both vultured after he got them into the red zone on both drives.
  24. QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 06:12 PM) Link Chris CotilloVerified account ‏@ChrisCotillo Diamondbacks non-tender Wellington Castillo. I find this one interesting... Sox should jump on that. Castillo has good power.
  25. What the f***? Why?!?!
