QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 03:51 PM) The cops aren't magic and aren't always within a close proximity. So let's all go back to the Wild West days where everyone is packing heat and we can take care of our own problems. I'm not an anti-gun nut, I own one but I keep it in my home for protection, I just don't like the fact there are jerkoffs like Zim running around determining who is suspicious or not and taking a police officer's job into his hands, when there isn't an obvious crime happening (unless it's against the law to be young, black and wear a hoodie).

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 02:59 PM) You've obviously read none of this thread. Not all of it but enough to see some really goofy posts, including some of yours. Let's blame the victim! Doesn't Martin have the right to SYG? Some creepy guy kept following him around while he was trying to get away...seems like he has a right to defend himself, too.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 02:16 PM) So if I see someone lurking around a local playground, I shouldn't be allowed to follow him around to see what he's up to? I should run away to avoid any possible confrontation? Call the police because, you know, it's their job...why the f*** have cops if we are gonna do their jobs?

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 01:56 PM) I'm glad you finally responded, because now I can make my point. Sorry, but that racial charge was me jumping to conclusions...and before I wrote what I wrote, I guessed you were Hispanic due to your avatar, which I assume is your daughters face. Point is, jumping to conclusions with little to no evidence, other than circumstantial (which is all you're going on), which is what most of you are doing, is bad...for the reason you helped me highlight. It's my son ...it's not a very complicated case, if Zimmerman stays in his car and waits for the police to handle the sitiuation, Msrtin would be alive today. Zimmerman acted like an overzealous idiot and is the reason a kid is dead. Simple.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 01:51 PM) From my point of view...if he doesn't have the gun, he never starts this. The psychology on what having the ability to kill does to a person is pretty clear, they're consistently more aggressive toward conflict. Take the gun away, and he doesn't get out of his car pissed off at the fact that "These assholes always get away".
-
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 01:38 PM) You should invent a jump to conclusions mat. It's obvious you want Zimmerman to be guilty, unfortunately, that's not how the law works. You also reek of racial bias, by the way. I'm hispanic just like Zimmerman so I don't see how I'm racially biased...I see this as a simple case of some nut who's biggest fantasy was to be a cop so he goes around pretending to be one, sees a "suspicious looking person" (young black kid in a hoodie) and started a confrontation against NW protocal. The kid ends up dead and this asshole can get off because of a stupid law. Not complicated at all.
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 01:29 PM) Sure we do. Zimmerman followed him around the neighborhood and chased him on foot. He doesn't do that, no one is dead. Common sense...the dispatcher told him to not pursue and he ignored that order, Zimmerman obviously started the confrontation.
-
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Mar 27, 2012 -> 01:18 PM) So we can fight over more ambiguous language like "when it's safe to do so?" Let's apply that here. Zimmerman was just tailing the guy because he thought he looked suspicious. Nothing wrong with that. Next thing he knows, Martin's on top of him beating him up. He shot. Was it reasonably safe for him to leave (and when exactly would that duty start here?) Would the duty to retreat even apply? BLOW IT UP! GET RID OF IT! TERRIBLE LAW! Let's just ignore the fact Zimmerman got out of his car on his own, he wasn't pulled out or has he tried to claim that? Zimmerman initiated a confrontation and he got one, if you are being stalked by some nut who isn't a cop, you aren't going to defend yourself when cornered? The kid DID NOTHING WRONG but be a black kid with a hoodie. This case is a simple case of cold blooded murder complicated by a stupid vauge law.
-
The way I look at it, if some wanna be cop jackass can stalk an unarmed kid, get in a fight and shoot him dead and turn around and cover himself with a law, then that is one flawed ass law. I don't know how he can claim self defense if he initiated the confrontation when the kid wasn't threatening no one or anyone's property...makes zero sense.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 07:19 PM) Its NCAA time, NBA can wait until April. I don't approve this messege. I think DRose being out is a blessing in disguise, this team knows it can compete with any team without it's MVP and their starting SG...how many teams can do that? If Miami loses 2 of their big 3, they ain't winning 9 of 13 games. This TEAM is a joy to watch. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 16, 2012 -> 07:58 AM) D-Rose will likely miss an extended period... I could see that being anywhere from another 3-6 games. There's no sense in rushing a groin injury. Dude was sitting on a pad on Wednesday night so who knows. Can we rent Phoenix's training staff? I need health! You're right, let Rose heal, the Bulls have proven they won't fall apart without him and the Heat as good as they are, they aren't going undefeated the rest of the way. -

QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 09:35 PM) The "best team in the NBA" won 1 game in the ECF with home court. This years team is, somehow, even less healthy and has 0 positive additions and once again must rely on a superhero performance from Rose to win in the ECF again. Hooooray bulls management. The Bulls problem last year was that they couldn't score enough points, they were #11 offensively while this year they are 3rd, they can score, they are 8-3 without Rose and just come off beating Miami... Let's not pretend Rose didn't suck last year in the ECFs. A healthy Bulls team with HCA beats Miami this time, the Heat are still flawed, they are top heavy and the rest of the team once you get past the Big 3 don't impress me. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 03:12 PM) However, we can be confident that people in Chicago will continue to blame the Bulls' GM for not getting a deal done for Gasol to help out the team this year. Whenever you trade with the Lakers, you should know you'll get the s***ty end of the deal, they do not trade fairly, that's for sure. f*** LA -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 12:54 PM) The Hornets are going to buy out Chris Kaman, and we all know where he'll wind up. I don't understand why the f*** teams keep giving the Heat players. Kaman to the Heat is a very bad thing for the Bulls. They can afford him with those 3 big contracts?
