  1. QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 22, 2012 -> 10:42 AM) Graduated 85% of his players No recruiting violation, no booster violations, an 80 year old man went to his bosses when there was a problem. I'm not disgusted by the love. He made a huge mistake in not calling the police. I don't see him burning in hell right now. Hey God, what are my chances of going to heaven right now, mind you I never covered up a child abuser so I should be a shoo in, right?
  2. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 21, 2012 -> 10:05 PM) Carmelo is an incredibly gifted scorer. He's also incredibly overrated. Yes He's entertaining and irritating to watch at the same time.
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 20, 2012 -> 08:50 PM) Only sport of the big four* D'oh. Forgot Hockey... All sports have different skill sets for different positions , big difference between what a Center does to what a PG does as in what a starting pitcher does to what a SS does...even in hockey.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 20, 2012 -> 01:38 PM) Dude, I like you a lot immediately. That's awesome. Yes, SOXOBAMA is an awesome dude even if he's a 49er fan
  5. The 49ers are solid but I think NY is the best balanced team of those remaining... Giants 23 49ers 20 I hope Baltimore can pull the upset but the Pats O will be too much. Patriots 27 Ravens 23
  6. Yeah, meanwhile there is still a team named Redskins...nice.
  7. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 20, 2012 -> 09:24 AM) I have never wrestled in my life and have no interest in watching it but from what little I have seen and been told about MMA if you know how to wrestle you can pretty much kick some serious ass. I am not sure how it is not the exact definition of sports as I believe it is the oldest recognized sporting event and it takes smarts, strength and quickness. It's kinda gay looking, maybe because it started in Greece?
  8. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 20, 2012 -> 09:00 AM) Racing is a very physically and mentally demanding sport. They may be athletes but they shouldn't be no where near the GOAT atlhlete's discussion. I drive alot and I'm still fat (not huge, but I need to lose 20 lbs).
  9. IMO, MJ is the greatest NBA player ever, all the other players that are mentioned in the GOAT debate (Wilt, KAJ, Bird, Magic) are bigger players, MJ at 6"6 dominated a sport that the rule of thumb was you needed a big man to win, he changed the way the game was played and opened the door for the Kobes, Wades, TMacs of the world. MJ, greatest ever.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 03:57 PM) I actually think Walter has an argument for greatest football player ever. Yeah he does, Sweetness could block, catch, outsprint you or knock you on your ass. I 've never seen another RB who could do all that like he did.
  11. SOXOBAMA, you sir, must be high...and I love Sweetness but stop.
  12. The GOP nomination process and the Colbert Report are always good for some sh*ts and giggles.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 12:14 PM) Noah's been awful. But Omer Asik as a full-time starter with nothing behind him isn't too appeasing. Noah has shown signs of life recently though, not ready to give up on him this season just yet. I wouldn't send Noah for any of the Celtics.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 11:44 AM) I really don't think I'd give up that Bobcats pick for Allen. I agree, that's gotta fetch more than Allen at this point of his career.
  15. On a serious note, Hill could've helped a ton, he would be the creater on the Bench Mob and we would see less of KK Watson Brewer Hill Taj Asik that's a filthy 2nd unit, and Rose would get some help on ball handling duties=more rest. And Deng too
  16. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 11:12 AM) Another reason he doesn't regret his decision Money > Winning 99% of pro athletes agree with Hill, not gonna hate on him for that, besides, I'd rather have White Mamba
  17. If only Twitter exsisted back in the 60's, the Paul McCartney is dead rumor would've been nipped in the bud...
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 07:30 AM) http://www.csnchicago.com/blog/bulls-talk/...tm_medium=email Not if it meant the Bulls would have to cut Scal White Mamba>>>Hill
  19. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 06:09 PM) Welcome to Soxtalk! Ha!
  20. I just wasted a few minutes of my life reading this page and learned NOTHING
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 02:11 PM) And don't be surprised when people treat you both like trolls, because that is exactly what has been going on. Most posters here are respectful, look at the comments during and after the Packers/Giants game, if we had meathead Bears fans here they would be posting stuff like "suck it Green Bay!!", but they're no posts like that... Of course us Bears fans were happy just like when the Lions got knocked off (it's called rivalry) but no point in rubbing it in to the Packer fans here who don't troll.
  22. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 01:25 PM) The 49ers are actually my second favorite team and have been since the early 90s and I was never in this thread badmouthing them or not giving them a shot to win, yet I have to come in here and read "98% of Bears fans this" or "Every Bears fan I know that" from the two 49ers fans. I realize this isnt a Bears forum but at the same time the White Sox play in Chicago, so of course the majority of the White Sox fan base will also be Bears fans. That said, the Bears fans on this board are actually some of the more knowledgeable and realistic fans you will come across on the internet. As the end of the season came and the playoffs began I found myself basically wanting the 49ers to get knocked out of the playoffs just because of how annoying this thread has been and because I was worried it would become unreadable if the niners won. To me its very similar to the Tim Tebow coverage on ESPN, if guys like Skip Bayless werent so far to one extreme that it basically forces other people to take on the other extreme and despise Tebow he probably would have been a lot of fun to root for. For example, Id be willing to bet if there were 0 niners fans on this board that well over half the people on here would vocally be rooting for the 49ers, me included. I hate the Saints personally. Also, it wasnt "hating" to think the niners were gonna lose. They were underdogs at home in Vegas and one of the biggest question marks about the niners is how would their offense handle getting into a shootout with one of the 3 big time offenses this season, and they certainly answered the question and Im sure in the process they impressed a lot of doubters. Also, a lot of the jabs you guys have taken at the Bears were just for the sake of trolling so a lot of the heat you took was reactionary. I know every fan base is littered with idiots and Im sure you do indeed have to listen to dumb Bears fans somewhere in your life but from what Ive seen it really isnt that bad in here. great post If these two Niner fans get crap from outside Bears meathead fans, they shouldn't take it out on us. I didn't know it was an insult to pick the Saints over the 49ers... For me personally, the "I wonder who the Bears fans will blame when they continue to suck under the new GM" statement riled me up...hey Niners fans, you guys are hosting the NFC Championship game, one win away from the SuperBowl, just like we were one year ago. BTW, a cousin of mine is a huge 49ers from way back so if you guys do pull it off, at least I'll be happy for him.
  23. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 01:21 PM) I never said Alex was an elite QB. He has beaten many elite QB's this year though. Unless Smith also plays defense, that statement is more a testament of SF's solid D this year.
  24. SOXOBAMA, you realize you're coming off as a homer? Alex Smith was a beast on Saturday, is he elite? No, one great playoff game doesn't make him great. I think that's all Steve is trying to say.
