QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 10:00 AM) No way. That intensity is what makes Rose special. Oh I agree, but he needs to pick his battles wisely or he's gonna wind up getting hurt...

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 07:41 PM) Carlos Boozer a couple of nights ago: “Everybody asks me about my numbers,” Boozer said. “Who cares about numbers? Are you kidding me? We’re (15-3). That’s the number that matters. A lot of us could be averaging 25 points on another team if we got to shoot 25 times a night. But we’re balanced. And all that matters is our record. Our leaders are unselfish. Derrick could shoot any time he wanted to. He could be Allen Iverson and shoot 30 times a night. He doesn’t. That trickles down to the entire team.” Just posting this because people seem to flip out when Boozer has 8 points on 7 attempts (in a win) like that actually means anything. This W is the most important stat of all

Ummm, Barcelona is pretty good... 2 nil over their biggest rivals at halftime with 2 gorgeous gols, especially from Dani Alves.

I doubt LBJ and the Heat go ringless these next few years, too damn talented not to. About Deng, the Bulls will be ok, you could move Rip to SF and have Brewer as SG, you don't really lose much on D because Ronnie can play the better offensive threat of the opposing SG or SF. Please, someone remind TT we have Jimmy Butler on the roster! As long as Lu is healthy come playoffs time, I'm not worried (he could also get some rest because Thibs loves riding him hard).

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 11:53 AM) Ricky Rubio's shooting is starting to resemble what many predicted... erratic. But man, does that dude have vision. He should take a page out of the early in his career Jason Kidd and not shoot...I have no doubt he'll improve but Steve Nash he's not nor ever be.

A shame a Bear great like 54 will probably retire without a SB ring, an above avg offense and he'd have at least 1.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 04:16 PM) I'm not sure if he's right, but he's the kind of guy who would know what the "insiders" are saying, as this Steve Schmidt guy was one of McCain 08's top 2 strategists. I'm not sure if I want to see this happen or not. As a democrat, Yes please!!

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 10:29 AM) Exactly. The players may have always thought he was a d-bag, but most fans barely even knew who he was before Kim. I have no idea who he is, I take it he's some marginal NBA player, where he plays, don't know, don't care.

I know everyone is down on Kyle Williams but if Alex Smith wouldn't have done his imitation of Tebow, Niners would in the SB.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 24, 2012 -> 09:14 AM) Brewer finding a consistent 15-18 foot jump shot has been a big change too. Don't forget about Booz, although not the post player we were hoping for, he's much better right now than what he was last year at both ends of the court.

PENN STATE SCANDAL
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 22, 2012 -> 05:59 PM) Damn straight I mocked his death and I'll continue to do so. You can look at it anyway you want, the bastard enabled child rape. f*** him. This I bet those who still think he was a great guy who could've done more would be singing a different tune if it were their kid who Sandusky was raping.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 08:15 AM) Whoever "Insider Advantage" is, they're first in line for having a post-Carolina poll out for Florida (for the Republican magazine Newsmax). They polled Newt with a 34-25 lead over Mittens. Goes to prove Republicans really really don't like Mittens that they'll give Newt a chance. Mittens is the worst candidate you can run in this climate, it shows just how tone deaf the GOP is, a billionaire so out of touch with your average working American.Romney has NO chance at beating Obama in My opinion unless the country goes off the deep end economically this year and people just want to get rid of Obama. Short of that, Mittens won't sniff the White House.

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 23, 2012 -> 12:22 PM) Damn the Niners have to face the Saints, Packers, Jets and Pats on the road next season. Plus face the Giants, Lions and Bears at home. I see the 49ers winning the NFC West with a 11-5 record. You can go ahead and put an L on the Bears/49ers game

Official 2011-2012 NFL Thread
I'm not gonna goof on HeGone or SoxObama because the way the 49ers lost was really horrible, but you guys also have to realize the way we lost to the Packers was also demoralizing, we lost Cutler and our D kept us in the game long enough for our 3rd string QB to make the game interesting, we could only imagine what would've happened if we had our QB all game long. We might've won or maybe not but we'll never know for sure.

QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Jan 22, 2012 -> 10:22 PM) Well, it was a great game but have to give credit to the Giants, they deserved to win. The future is bright, just need to get Alex some receivers and we will be back. Still upset with Kyle but starting to feel bad for the guy... The offense had 4 chances after the first screw up. Congratulations, you guys accomplished what we did last year, lose at home in the NFC Championship game

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 22, 2012 -> 05:48 PM) I like to think that, but I'm not sure. Because the Packers locked up the division, the Bears had two potential opponents as the wild card: 1. Saints: Unbeatable at the Superdome this year 2: Giants: Not the best home team, but the hottest team in the league Then a game at GB or SF, would have been tough This I agree with SoxFan1, Bears were playing as well as any team in the NFL prior to Cutler getting hurt but that scenario you lay out in your post is spot on, it would be tough to go to those places and beat the home team. Not impossible but not likely...

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 22, 2012 -> 05:42 PM) Also as a Bears fan, I can't help but feel that we would be in this NFC Championship game if Cutler was healthy. I don't know about that, no doubt we would've made the playoffs but I don't think we would've beaten NO, NY or GB.

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jan 22, 2012 -> 05:31 PM) Brady sounded pretty somber during the AFC trophy presentation. He knows he didn't play well today. "I sucked pretty bad today." he said. Sounds like he feels he dodged a bullet. If they go on to win the Super Bowl, it won't matter. But still, questionable decisions by Tom-Terrific today. Brady knows they had no business winning that game...
