QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 12, 2013 -> 11:04 PM) A great game tonight. Just got home from the game. Kaep was f***ing incredible today Congrats, You created a lot of haters here but SF have a great shot at a title this year...personally, I'll be rooting for the Niners since they punked GB like I told my buddies they would. Thanx for making me look like I have a clue :lol

I knew GB's D was garbage all along...SFR will get a good challenge from Seattle next next week.

Green Bay's offense is just too good. I still think SF D can get more stops than GB's D.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 8, 2013 -> 03:57 PM) Lovie Smith may interview for the Chiefs DC position. I'd have no problems at all with that. So Lovie's HC days are def over? That would be a great hire.

Come on Knight, now that's just straight hating. I know SOXOBAMA is annoying with his homerism but the 49ers aren't the worst team right now in the playoffs. I think they'll beat the Pack but Seattle or Atlanta at home might very well knock them out.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 5, 2013 -> 02:05 PM) Not sure I can disagree, but when I thought about those same names, I felt like I was filling out a tourney bracket and putting all the #1 seeds in the final four. That's how it's supposed to turn out based on the records...which makes me think there has to be a surprise buried in there. I'd love for the surprise of this week to be Minny beating GB because of AP, dude deserves to go far in the playoffs, he is such a beast, especially considering the knee injury.

NFL playoffs predictions...I would love Cincy to beat the Texans but it ain't happening. GB beats Minny. Got the Ravens over the Colts and Seattle beating Wash.

That's why Lovie just had to go, the OL troubles ultimately fall on him as the HC, too many years of awfulness from that part of the game...a great offensive line make a Mark Rypien a superbowl champ and an awful OL line make any QB not named Aaron Rodgers look bad. That's why great QBs like Brady, Manning, Brees ect always seem to have a great O line in front of them, I'd love to see those guys try to operate with our O line...

Didn't he get fired because when the Wizards played the Bulls, the top brass asked him not to introduce MJ the way he did during the Bulls glory days and he ignored their request? I think I read that somewhere a while back. Anyways, that sounded off, kept wanting to hear Pip's and MJ's name

Saw this joke in another forum... Eli Manning, Jay Cutler, Tony Romo and Ben Roethlisberger walk into a bar... They see four girls and go to pick them up. Cutler immediately says something stupid and another guy intercepts his girl. Eli is failing miserable and everyone is laughing at him but somehow the girl leaves the bar with him. Romo is just about to score but inexplicably starts talking about the time he had herpes and strikes out. While Romo is leaving he asks Ben how come he is still there? Ben says he's still waiting for the drug to take effect. And if Tom Brady was with them, (wasn't available since he's in the playoffs) he would've left with all four of the hotties!

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 04:39 PM) And has for a number of seasons. I got a chance to listen to some sports talk today....my god there are people who were surprised/shocked Lovie got fired? Some even angry? WTF? Missing the playoffs 5 times in 6 years, 6 times in 9 years is f***ing pathetic. Lovie was incredibly average as a coach and his record supports that - beat the crap teams, lost to the good teams. Good f***ing riddance. Made it to the SB with Rex Grossman...I still believe that if the Bears had a healthy Tommie Harris and Mike Brown in that game, Bears win IMO. That Bears D wasn't the same after those two went down.

2012-2013 NFL Thread
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 09:50 AM) Well one of the things I have never really understood about our offensive playcalling is why we don't ever seem to be able to 1) call a slant or 2) execute a slant successfully. Green Bay runs a crapload of slants and other quick inside crossing routes that allow Rodgers to get rid of the ball quickly. They also roll him out quite a bit more than the Bears roll Cutler out. Now it's pretty clear that Rodgers is better on the run than Cutler (and probably the best in the League, honestly), but we just never seemed to call the offensive game according to the limitations of our offensive line (outside of that Dallas game last year and maybe a few other instances I am not recalling). So I agree with your general point, but I don't think that is a Cutler issue, as he has shown a really incredible ability to avoid pressure within the pocket and he has shown he can really be athletic when he gets outside of the pocket. I think it is more of a failure of our coaching staff to design and/or call the correct plays to try and deal with a subpar offensive line. I love this post, especially the bolded part... I also can't stand the fact that the Bears really really suck at HB screens or creating plays to get Hester in open space to best utilize his speed/quickness.

I've always liked Lovie, sad to see him go and if he goes somewhere where they have a solid offense and need help on the defensive end, he could be really successful. Unfortunately, the offense in Chicago has mostly been garbage under his tenure, some of it his fault, some of it not. I hope the Bears don't mess this up but like some posters have pointed it out already, my money says they'll f*** it up like always... Good luck Lovie, the meathead Bears fans are idiots, hope you are successful at whatever you do.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 30, 2012 -> 07:16 PM) I like Lovie as a coach, but I cannot support bringing him back. He'll get another job next year or the year after, but his time with the Bears should be up. I ageee...I like Lovie but we need HC that knows what an offense looks like.

When I said that Green Bay's D was mediocre a couple of weeks ago, I was being very generous. They won't win the SB unless Rodgers and Co. light up the scoreboard, their D is atrocious...

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 05:23 PM) That's precisely what I'm saying though. Every team practices just as hard very single week in the NFL. Unexpected results occur when bench players start, folks get injured, opponents come up with out-of-the-norm game plans, etc. Fair enough

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 05:11 PM) Wasnt that Kapernicks 1st game as starter? Couldn't that have something to do with it....Cambell was also starting that game so it's no wonder they lost like they did. Yeah, I remember there were a few people here who thought it was going to be a low scoring game because of that. Turns out that the Bears D couldn't stop the 49ers O to save their lives. All I'm saying is that I think the Lions aren't not going to show up, the Bears need to play the game as if it were a playoff game since it essentially is and hope the Pack can help us out.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 28, 2012 -> 04:56 PM) But do you really think they lollygagged all week leading up to the game? Coaches were slacking and the players left practice early each day? That's not what I'm saying, maybe it was more of not scouting the opponent enough, I don't know but the 49ers ran a lot of plays that looked like the Bears were totally not expecting, I recall the MNF TV crew also mentioning that.
