  1. I wrote a few weeks ago that I though last year's Packers 10-6 team was better than this year's 15-1 team soley on the fact that GB's D was awesome last year, while this year they were awful, all it took was a team that was solid on D and have a more than capable O.I'm shocked though how eay the Giants beat the Pack, if it wasn't for two awful ref calls, it would've been more of a beatdown. If the 49ers and Ravens make it to the SB, that would go against the "passing offense wins in today's NFL" thinking, wouldn't it?
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 05:56 AM) Reading posts about the Bulls there is no way you would be able to conclude they would be anywhere near 11-2 with their back to back to back out of the way and 9 road games, and without Hamilton most of the time, and without Rose for a game. Some around here, if the truly are Bulls fans, need to quit nitpicking and enjoy. This. x 1000 No Rip, no CJ, Noah MIA, bunch of back to backs and mostly on the road and they are 12-2? GTFO here with the complaining.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 08:07 PM) LOL, enjoy the week. They out-Sainted the Saints at the end, but the key was all the hard hits in the 1st half that led to those fumbles and the 17-0 lead. If NY upsets GB, SF will have a hell of a shot to get to the SB, they ain't gonna outPacker the Pack in GB.
  4. QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 07:52 PM) I repeat, Who's got it better than us? NOBODY!!!!!! Congrats.
  5. Well, I knew New Orleans was gonna light up SF's "great" defense, but never figured Alex Smith was gonna go nuts. Glad for Jim Harbaugh, I liked him when he was our QB back in the day.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 14, 2012 -> 04:53 PM) That TD throw should be illegal. There is like no way to stop that throw. Saints are -3 in the turnover battle and only down 3 points, can't complain about that. If I were a SF, I'd be very nervous about that. No doubt Sean Peyton is gonna make adjustments...9ers defense gonna have to earn the paycheck in the 2nd half.
  7. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 09:56 PM) Pierce hasn't been that good as of yet, but Deng is an obvious top10 SF Yeah, I know but I won't say who said this but he said said Pierce was one of 15 SFs better than Deng.
  8. Deng took Pierce out of the game and I don't ever want to hear that Deng is not a top 10 SF.
  9. I'm not a big Melo fan, he can score but he's a bit of a ball hog, once he has the ball, he's gonna shoot. There's no way I'm gonna buy Melo as an average defender, he sucks at defending in Denver and now in NY. He also comes off as a selfish player IMO.There are a lot of SFs I rather have than him, scoring isn't the end all be all of basketball.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 04:20 PM) Oh my goodness. Get out of here. Melo >>>>> Deng I don't think you understood me, of course Melo is way better than Deng, Melo is a scoring machine. What I was wondering was if Melo score 25 pts in a game, what is the opposing SF pts that night...that's why I said it might break even, what Melo score to what the player he's defending scores since Melo is basically a turnstile on D.
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 04:12 PM) Ooof. I'd personally say Gerald Wallace and Rudy Gay should be rated well above Deng. Caron Butler is having a nice start to the season, but I'm not willing to forgive the past few years based on a couple 20 point outbursts. He's below Deng. You also forgot Carmelo Anthony in the "clearly better" category. Melo clearly better O wise, but D wise, Melo doesn't even register...I wonder what Melo is giving up on defense, it probably breaks even, lol, he's so bad on defense.
  12. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 04:08 PM) All around game considered the only clear cut SF's better than Deng are: Lebron James Kevin Durant Danny Granger I think you have to group Deng with the Caron Butler/Rudy Gay/Gerald Wallace bunch. Seems about right, that's why I consider Luol an easily top 10 SF considering both ends of the floor.
  13. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 03:55 PM) Deng is one of the best wing defenders in the league. He's quite, quite good. His offense isn't great, but it's tough to ignore his defensive prowess. His mid-range jumper has been solid for a while and he's good in the open court.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 03:42 PM) SF's better than Deng: LeBron Durant Melo Pierce Gay AI2 Wallace Granger Marion AK SFs arguably better: Wright Gallinari Butler Hedo Hill Deng is somewhere in that third-tier. lol@ that list... Are you saying just offensive wise and not including defense, because if we are talking both ends of the court, your list sucks.
  15. Deng is a top 10 SF (considering both off. and def.). I have no idea how Noah can remind anybody of Longley, totally different types of players...
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 02:39 PM) You just proved my point. It's OK that Rose at times takes bad shots because there's nobody for him to defer to. Who's to say Rose wouldn't have similar difficulties meshing with such an uber-talent like Durant? Rose is not Nash or Paul or Williams. He looks to score first. He was that way at Memphis. I would love for us Bulls fans to have that "problem" OKC has.
  17. When I think about St. Louis, I think beer so it can't be that bad...
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 02:23 PM) I have no recollection of the specific instance you're referring to. I agree that KD should always be the first option at the end of games (depending on what the defense throws at you). But Westbrook gets way too much crap for playing with Durant. Statistically, standard and advanced, he was every bit as good as Rose last year save 3-pointers. His shot-selection and decision-making is suspect at times. But so is Rose's. You got a good point there but Rose doesn't have anyone like Durant alongsides him, sometimes he needs to force a shot up since he's basically the player who can create his own shot on the Bulls. All I'm saying is Westbrook shouldn't be jacking up forced shots while he has KD on the floor with him...
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 01:56 PM) KD has won the last two scoring titles. How many more shots is he supposed to take? It would help OKC if the more efficient and better scorer would get more shots at the end of a game...I remember a game last year when OKC rebounded the ball during the final seconds, Westbrook pushed the ball up, had Durant open at the wing and still Westbrook forced up a shot (he bricked it) while KD had this look to his face like "there you go again", lol. I wish I could remember what game it was (maybe the Grizzlies series?) but Durant's dismayed expression stuck with me...
  20. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 01:37 PM) 1. Derrick Rose 2. Derrick Rose 3. Omer Asik 4. Derrick Rose 5. Derrick Rose 6. Derrick Rose 7. Derrick Rose 8. Derrick Rose 9. Derrick Rose 10. Luol Deng Even in top 10 lists, Luol Deng is underrated. Aw, come on dude, you're not gonna get flamed for not putting DRose at #1 At least not by me, I have Rose at #5 while most lists I've seen by NBA analysts on the net have him near the top...
  21. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 10:26 AM) Don't know if anyone saw it but ESPN's Ric Bucher came out with his top 7 NBA players list and it goes like this... 1.Kobe Bryant 2.Derrick Rose 3.LeBron James 4.Dwight Howard 5.Dwyane Wade 6.Dirk Nowitzki 7.Russell Westbrook Personally I think his list is crazy, (Westbrook, really?) mine would go like this... 1.LBJ (really, there shouldn't be a debate about #1) 2.Kobe (I'll give the old guy the nod at 2) 3.Durant (not even in Bucher's top 7 list, which is insane) 4.Howard (the best big man in the game has to be in the top 5) 5.Rose (the way he's improving each year, he'll be top 3 very soon) 6.Wade (yup, I think Rose is better than Wade now) 7.Paul (not the player he was a few years ago but still one of the best) and to round out the 8-10 spots in my opinion... 8.Carmelo Anthony (acoring machine but a big minus on D) 9.Russell Westbrook (my beef with him is that he takes too many shots away from KD) 10.Deron Williams (I won't hold it against him that he has garbage to play with)
  22. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 01:05 PM) Zach Randolph rebounds in a similar way as Kevin Love. It's not about getting the ball when it's at it's highest point, it's about using your legs, hips and strength to get your opponent out of the way, then catching the ball on it's way down. Love is probably the best in the NBA in getting in position to make a rebound and if you watch him consistently, his rebounds in traffic usually involve either tipping it to himself or grabbing it without actually jumping. Love will also always lock arms with the opponent which causes it to look as if they're fouling him, which the refs have somehow yet to notice but routinely call on the other player. I haven't watch Z-Bo as much as some, but he seems to be in the same school of rebounding. It's more about brute strength and positioning than actually jumping to the highest possible point. For this reason, he always gives Love fits on the glass. He's one of the toughest matchups in the league for Love when it comes to glass cleaning. As far as the top 10 lists go, I'm not sure I'd put Love in there. He's definitely top 15, but his inability to create his own shot (and his lack of a great post game) really holds him back. I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up next year with a highly refined post game, though. He's made significant offseason improvements to his game every year since entering the league. Felix, who would be in your top 10 NBA players list?
  23. Don't know if anyone saw it but ESPN's Ric Bucher came out with his top 7 NBA players list and it goes like this... 1.Kobe Bryant 2.Derrick Rose 3.LeBron James 4.Dwight Howard 5.Dwyane Wade 6.Dirk Nowitzki 7.Russell Westbrook Personally I think his list is crazy, (Westbrook, really?) mine would go like this... 1.LBJ (really, there shouldn't be a debate about #1) 2.Kobe (I'll give the old guy the nod at 2) 3.Durant (not even in Bucher's top 7 list, which is insane) 4.Howard (the best big man in the game has to be in the top 5) 5.Rose (the way he's improving each year, he'll be top 3 very soon) 6.Wade (yup, I think Rose is better than Wade now) 7.Paul (not the player he was a few years ago but still one of the best)
  24. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 01:22 PM) I honestly wouldn't be surprised if smoking too much weed during the lockout has had some effect on him so far. I'm just not seeing anything physically wrong with him that would explain his problems this season. I'm hoping as the season drags along that Noah will work himself into the energy freak we all have come to know and love, but yeah, more Asik.
  25. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 12, 2012 -> 12:01 PM) Since everyone can get behind LeBron bashing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32o8uHmX36o Oh I wouldn't call it LeBron bashing, more like constructive criticism and that travelling is more on the refs.
