  1. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Oct 26, 2008 -> 10:52 AM) What are you talking about? Who would scream and why would they scream? Moyer is still producing at a pretty high level, his age has nothing to do with it as he doesnt rely on speed and overpowering hitters Yeah, you're right. His numbers were almost directly equivelent to Buehrle this year.
  2. Moyer is pitching a textbook game. It's awesome, just a pleasure to watch.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 25, 2008 -> 10:18 PM) How bout Swish, Wise and Dotel for Rowand. Go ahead, flame away. Too Easy. We'll leave it at no.
  4. QUOTE (YASNY @ Oct 25, 2008 -> 11:18 PM) I just ran across this critique of Jordan Danks. Scroll down, you'll find him. http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/...equests-part-3/ Back when he was first drafted by the Sox (05, I think)his upside was compared to Paul O’Neill. Who while never great was certainly a well-rounded player. Assuming Danks works out his swing, and continues driving the ball it appears we might have a really good player on our hands.
  5. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 25, 2008 -> 08:44 PM) A UFO would not have lights on it; and if it did, it would be seen more than just at night. What? How do you...? Huh?
  6. The best he'll ever be is on the weak side of a platoon, and a damn good story.
  7. QUOTE (chg027 @ Oct 25, 2008 -> 07:06 PM) If Swish 2009 season is a repeat of 2008, his value will be so low you will not be able to give him away. I am not saying that will happen, but the risk is there. Who knows? Management may be willing to get 70 cents on the dollar for Swish and just move on. We've done this dance. Swisher's 2008 was a statistical abnormality, and we fully expect him to reverse this, and continue along his traditional career norms. 8. QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 25, 2008 -> 09:46 PM) What the Hell was that song they played during rays intros? The fish one, yeah. It sounded really kiddy so i'm guessing Wiggles or some other Barneyesque extravaganza. It was a bit curious, because i understand that the Philly fans have a tradition of getting on the opposing teams nerves, but i never heard of the home teams stadium/staff actually getting in on the act.
  9. QUOTE (scenario @ Oct 25, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) I went to the game today. (Saturday the 25th). Also, an interesting note, the Sags roster showed that Jordan Danks was recently added to the team. And Stefan Gartrell is no longer on the roster. Gartrell had been playing respectably. Not sure what happened. Excellent, Beckham will have some compnay on the bench while he waits for his one day to play. On the plus, i have this insane idea that Beckham and Danks 2 are going to develop in the minors together at a farily even rate so i'd like to see them maintain some sort of rapport.
  10. QUOTE (JFields27 @ Oct 24, 2008 -> 11:49 PM) feel the exact same way .. my mom is a cubs fan so i sometimes watch them .. but Brenly is the man i cant lie about that Yeah, Brenly and Kasper make a good team. Probably, in the top 10 in baseball. I don’t have too much of a personal investment, but there certainly will be a void there.
  11. QUOTE (MO2005 @ Oct 24, 2008 -> 02:07 PM) Byrd sign 1-2 year deal *gives us innings* No, Vasquez gives us innings. Byrd gives us a soft-tossing righty with questionable stuff.
  12. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Oct 24, 2008 -> 12:00 AM) You're right, that they went for it all and missed. But from some of the scouting I have read of LaPorta, some say he might be a good hitter, but not really as good as Travis Haffner before he fell off big time. I guess he is not regarded as highly as one thought. I also wouldn't touch Prince Fielder even though he is a left handed hitter. Fielder= the next Mo Vaughn IMO That’s not bad. I remember that when Brandon Allen was drafted he was compared to a more athletic Mo Vaughn. What does that have to do with anything? Nothing really. Just
  13. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 23, 2008 -> 10:46 PM) Ahh. Closet Cub fan, eh? i feel like you just kicked me in a very unpleasant place.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 23, 2008 -> 04:40 PM) I'm with you. Short, compact, and to the point. I guess maybe i'm more of a style than substance kinda guy.
  15. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Oct 22, 2008 -> 11:58 PM) Wow. Phillies win. I'm shocked. I'm not. I think the games that Hamels start are the only ones where the Phillies have the clear advantage. So, i'm pretty much wrote this one off. That being said if "Big Game" James doesn't come through the Rays are in a bit of a predicament.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 22, 2008 -> 10:20 PM) Cole Hamels in games 1, 4, 7, with the Phillies also at home for games 3 and 5 is a pretty dangerous setup for the Rays. Do you really think they'll let Hamels go three times? Haven't they already announced Blanton as the 4th starter? It makes perfect sense if Hamels can manage though. And Myers's start will be more then servicable.
  17. These teams are better matched then i ever could of predicted. That being said, i think we'll see a noticeable difference towards the back of the Phillies rotation
  18. I know it works and allows him to constantly square up the ball, but I hate Utley’s swing. I don’t know if it’s to handsy or something it just bothers me.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 22, 2008 -> 04:57 PM) You can probably just figure it out yourself. Slide down arm strength, mobility, etc... or you can just download the online roster. Try to put him right around 86-88. Nah, i mean he actually isn't in my game. I have the Ps2 version. That being said i might be able to do what you said by working off last years version.
  20. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 22, 2008 -> 07:59 PM) I mean did anybody think he would tank THIS badly? Billy Beane did too. His decision not resign Zito was not only a financial one, but also one where the organizations projections had Zito experiencing a significant drop-off in the near future. Zito, at his best had an insane curveball to offset a mediocre fastball. The A’s organization reckoned that as soon as Zito lost his finite control of that curve, he would lose his value to the organization as well.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 22, 2008 -> 08:37 PM) Everytime I see Kazmir, I wanna ask Steve Phillips what Victor Zambrano is up to. Poor Steve Phillips still being blamed for messes (and trades) that Jim Duquette made.

    MLB 2K8

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 22, 2008 -> 05:33 PM) From what I've played, I like the show alot better. I got 2K8 due to it's creative similarities to the greatest baseball video game of all time (also known as MVP Baseball 05). Unfortunatley, it's taking me a long time to update the rosters. So, i''m yet to experience much of the game for myself.
