Fire Robin. Bring Back Ozzie. Do It Now
Y2Jimmy0 replied to sin city sox fan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 25, 2016 -> 05:20 PM) This team doesn't care because it takes after the personality of its manager. We need leadership for these 25 players who gives a damn about winning and losing. Every team goes through a few dry spells each season, but ours last longer than most as we don't have a manager who will throw gas on a spark and light a big ass fire. Ozzie is the answer and its time to stop pretending that Robin can get the job done. I loved Robin as a player, but he's truly one of the worst managers to ever wear a uniform. The fact that this team has the record it does shows that we could run away with the division if we had just average leadership. Come on JR, don't you want another world series title on the south side? Than do what is necessary to make it happen. So with a different manager and the same players, would the Sox still have 24 games with 3 runs scored or fewer? -

QUOTE (harkness @ May 25, 2016 -> 04:17 PM) An example of one person venting by staring an argument with other people's venting. This team looks the exactly same as the teams the past 4 years... I mean its a striking resemblance. I suppose you remember how those 4 years went. I don't make proclamations about teams until 60 games in. 12 more to go.

QUOTE (The Mighty Mite @ May 25, 2016 -> 04:29 PM) I'm not sure, I say put Saladino out there everyday until Anderson is ready. Release Rollins, why the hell did we sign an over the hill SS to begin with. And while we're at it, it's time to say goodbye to Ventura. Rollins is actually really good vs LHP.

QUOTE (greg775 @ May 25, 2016 -> 04:15 PM) LOL. For weeks the toast of baseball. A 3-7 homestand follows that pathetic road trip. This team is severely flawed. Fire or demote somebody, please! Oh wait, team is still in first place. No need to panic. Started 23-10. 4-11 since. At least Abreu is back.
-
No but we are going to see him soon. Probably during the next homestand.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2016 -> 01:27 PM) I had hoped Zobrist was old and last year was the beginning of the end for him. Instead, he's one of the best in baseball this year (5th in fWAR). He's always been awesome. Last 2 years may be pretty bad on that deal though.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 25, 2016 -> 02:12 PM) It was never a matter of rebuilding ...it was a matter of building and amassing sufficient young talent. All they needed was another offseason or 2. But after a reasonably successful effort in 2013, Williams and Hahn reversed tack and went for the veterans....which is essentially what williams had been doing (and failing at) for years. At this point, I would ride it out, while using Charlotte more to try out a few players. With a loss today, are they 4-11 since that loss in Texas? They were 23-10 at the time.

QUOTE (Dunt @ May 25, 2016 -> 02:03 PM) You've got to hand it to the Indians, their approach this series is incredibly impressive. They've put together great ABs the last 2 games and absolutely demolished our best pitchers pitch counts so they have no chance of going deep. They are playing excellent defense and throwing strikes. Im kinda jealous actually, it seems like they were actually prepared for this series and realized how important it was. Yep. Cooper preaches first pitch strikes and Cleveland isn't wasting any time swinging at the first pitch.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 25, 2016 -> 01:59 PM) I'd rather rebuild than watch this garbage. They're not going to rebuild with Quintana, Sale, Rodon, Eaton, and Abreu locked up for cheap. They are playing like s*** but it's a little early to want a selloff. I mean seriously people? Even with a loss, they are 6 games over and right in the race. It's not ideal because of their start. It's actually extremely frustrating because of their start but they haven't been this close in years. They are definitely staying the course.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2016 -> 01:57 PM) Can't put anyone away the last two games. Credit to Indians, they're playing much better than the Sox. And their lineup is horrible. I can't believe this Indians team is doing this. It's eerily similar to how the Sox are traditionally put together with cheap veterans.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2016 -> 01:50 PM) Getting to the point where Hahn can't go for it all in trades, as it's looking just as likely they'll be sellers. I think there is zero chance that they sell. With the guys they've acquired, they are in now. They'll try to acquire more and make another run next year. Next year's trade deadline could be the start of a rebuild though.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 25, 2016 -> 12:25 PM) Chicago Sun-Times @Suntimes 12m12 minutes ago Just in ... Joakim Noah telling #Bulls teammates he's gone http://wp.me/p7fJAs-VCb Randy Brown is the assistant coach that runs to Forman. What a disaster. I hope Noah leaves because bringing him back would be a mistake but good lord talk about about dysfunction.
