  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 09:56 PM) Kahnle and Purke are just reminding me that it's sad Erik Johnson isn't good enough to be on a 12-man pitching staff. 13 man pitching staff.
  2. Grab Some Bench! ‏@Grab_Some_Bench 3h3 hours ago Carlos Rodon had two awful starts (0.1 IP vs LAA & rain delay game @ TEX). Take those out & he's good for a 2.86 ERA & 1.25 WHIP. #WhiteSox
  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 12:45 PM) I'd rather have Corey Ray and Gavin Lux. I'm also taking into consideration how bad Shark was. Also, wouldn't rather have Phegley, only assuming on Bassitt and I'll take Anderson and Lawrie over Semien. Sox didn't like Phegley defensively. Bassitt had TJS and Semien has no defensive position.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 11:37 AM) Win as many games as u can. Tanking is ridiculous It's not. If you are the Brewers, Reds, Braves, Phillies, etc right now, there is no reason to try and win games. Get really bad to get really good.
  5. QUOTE (JLarucci23 @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 10:51 AM) Seems like nobody knows whats going to happen outside of the first couple picks. Id bet thrilled with Ray! I don't think anyone even knows the first couple picks.
  6. Here is Law's Mock 3.0: http://espn.go.com/blog/mlb-draft/insider/post?id=2754 Has the White Sox taking Zach Collins and Gavin Lux. Rutherford is on the board at 10 as well.
  7. They could take me with their 2nd rounder and I'd be ecstatic if they got Corey Ray and Gavin Lux in round 1. What a haul that would be.
  8. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 3, 2016 -> 03:43 AM) What team did Livingston play for in Peoria, was it Manual, Central or another one? All I remember was reading a book once about Steve Alford and he and many top collegiate coaches were recruiting that kid HARD when he was already in middle school...projecting a combination of Magic Johnson, Penny Hardaway and Marcus Liberty/Jamie Brandon in their primes. Tyler and Cody Zeller coming out of Indiana were the other big-time recruits around that time period, if memory serves correctly. Peoria Central
  9. SP-Ervin Santana: FIP under 4. Should be really cheap to acquire. DH/OF: Carlos Beltran. OF: Colby Rasmus LHR: Sean Doolittle LHR: Will Smith RHR: Arodys Vizcaino Don't need them all. Just some names that would interest me.
  10. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 08:12 AM) Is he any good these days? Just always hurt. Would be their best option to be the 3rd OT though. They'd have: OT: Massie, Leno, Long, OG: Long, Whitehair, Larsen, Ramirez C: Ramirez, Grasu That's pretty solid.
  11. One of Mully and Hanley's producers thinks that the Cubs would struggle to win a WC with Ventura as manager because they are so young still. LOL. That team would win 95 games still.
  12. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 2, 2016 -> 07:40 AM) OT Jake Long working out with the Bears today. They do have a roster spot as well after releasing OT Tayo Fabuluje yesterday. Not that they couldn't just cut someone and create a spot anyway though.
  13. Neither option is very good. Latos: 4.02 ERA, 5.28 FIP, .268 BABIP Gonzalez 4.09 ERA, FIP 4.54, BABIP .327 In Comparison Shields: 4.28 ERA 4.41 FIP. Last start did hurt a lot.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 01:54 PM) No, but they should get to the point where PEDs are as big of a penalty as gambling if there is proof of trying to cheat. The party is over and I think a lot of players agree. It's going to be interesting to see if changes come in the next CBA. Meh. I can't build up outrage over something I don't really care that much about. We have no idea who used and who didn't and who is using and who isn't. I also want to be entertained and like seeing humans do superhuman s***. My favorite sport is football and I love the NFL. Kind of hard for me to be outraged about PED's.

Is Chris Beck a reliever now? He came in in relief of Scott Carroll tonight.
  16. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 09:27 PM) Jon Jay would be a welcome upgrade to the Sox. They lack a quality backup OF'er who can play CF. He also bats lefty, which might allow you to play the match-ups with Jackson. I'm not advocating the Sox rush out and make a deal like this but he would bring something the Sox could use. I'd like Jon Jay and someone like Beltran personally. Could DH Beltran or someone else and platoon Jay with Ajax. Much better team.
  17. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 12:51 PM) Multiple outlets saying the same thing. I hate that guy. He really has no reason not to though. If he weren't on steroids, he wouldn't be on a team. He can just retire anyway when he gets caught. Makes sense to me.
  18. Hanley said that the Padres would be eating $30 million and they want to include Jon Jay in the deal. It wasn't said anywhere that the White Sox want Jon Jay and they never said anything about eating $38 million.
  19. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 11:27 AM) They were talking about it like it was fact but I am not sure where they got it from. When he said it I was thinking damn, that I havent heard yet. Oh okay cool. Thanks.
  20. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 11:19 AM) I believe it was Hanley who mentioned it. Was it being speculated? Those guys don't really break news like that. Not calling you a liar, just curious about context.
  21. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 11:12 AM) On the radio this morning they were saying the Padre's will pay $38mil of Shields contract but that the Sox want Jay in the deal too. TIFWIW Who said that?
  22. QUOTE (SI1020 @ Jun 1, 2016 -> 11:08 AM) I thought it was a fair question too. This is not a playoff caliber team. After a decade of floundering and 6 losing seasons out of 9 nothing should be left off the table. Whatever the Sox have been doing it hasn't been working. New ownership is not on the horizon. Hopefully new and better strategies are. I like Frazier, but the Sox aren't going to contend this year, there is precious little on the farm so it's time to see if you can do any good with what you do have. Nobody, not even Chris Sale should be off limits. Times are tough. These threads are posted every season. It's not happening. I don't think they'd sell or trade off assets until next year's trade deadline at the earliest.
  23. Todd Frazier's BABIP is 191. Should normalize at some point to his 280 career average. That will be fun.
  24. The White Sox are far more likely to extend Frazier than trade him.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 31, 2016 -> 08:20 PM) Delmonico hit his first AAA home run tonight. He is looking pretty damn good Delmonico is also playing the OF a bit in Charlotte
