If you’re into thrillers, Searching is both excellent & unique in its presentation.

Dodgers & Reds trade (Kemp, Puig, & Wood to CIN, Bailey, Josiah Gray & Jeter Downs to LA)
The Reds are getting a couple of decent players (Puig, Wood) while the Dodgers are not. As such, I think L.A. should be getting prospects back. The problem here is what does this actually accomplish for the Reds? They’re still not going to be good next year and then they just lose all these guys. From a big picture standpoint, it just seems like a dumb move.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
That is article is pretty convincing that they have to adhere to a budget.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Lol...I think there’s no hope there.
-
Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Gun to my head I’d say no, but I definitely think it’s a possibility and can’t think of a better way to instantly make the White Sox relevant again.
-
Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Don’t think they frees up enough to get Harper if they take on salary.
-
Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Contreras isn’t enough for anyone to take on Heyward’s contract.
-
Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
100% agree. And honestly, I think we land both Harper & Machado and then tell east coast biased media types like Chris Russo they can suck a big fat you know what.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Friedman ain’t spending $350M+’on Harper despite what the Boras hype machine wants you to beleive.
-
Machado: Update - Manny, do you officially like us?
They’re trying to land Machado & Harper, they won’t be trading Abreu or Alonso at this point.
-
Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Another reason why Kluber + Pollock makes way more sense for them.
-
Machado: Update - Manny, do you officially like us?
Seems like a guy who might jump at the opportunity of a closer role.
-
Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
I think this guy is living off the Darvish leak, but that’s obviously just me guessing.
-
Machado: Update - Manny, do you officially like us?
With Machado not signing until next year, I wonder if the Sox address the pen before 2018 comes to a close. Adding Ottavino to be the closer would be a fantastic move IMO.
-
Machado: Update - Manny, do you officially like us?
100% agree. But if he’s as dominant in AAA as he was in AA, then I want him up here for a few months until he hits his innings limit.
-
Machado: Update - Manny, do you officially like us?
Nothing meaningless about getting Cease some major league experience given his importance to the 2020 club.
-
Machado: Update - Manny, do you officially like us?
Yonder could be our 2018 MVP and not play a single game for us.

Dodgers & Reds trade (Kemp, Puig, & Wood to CIN, Bailey, Josiah Gray & Jeter Downs to LA)
Which makes sense. They need a legit ace much more than an expensive OF upgrade, although I do think they’ll end up with Kluber & Pollack and accomplish both goals.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
The Reds didn’t really take on that much money and moved a completely useless player in the process. The Cubs would have to move Heyward and not take any money back, which is going to be exponentially more difficult to pull off.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
I don’t care what anyone says, Harper is totally signing with us.

2019 MLB draft thread
Vaughn is definitely intriguing. I know in a perfect world you’d want an up the middle type player or a pitcher with ace upside at #3, but I’m not passing on a 1B if my scouts are confident he can be elite.

Let's buy a contract (Ideas)
This is all about leveraging our financial resources to add impact talent. Tim Anderson (at least right now) isn’t going to prevent me from adding a 27 year old, stud SS.

Let's buy a contract (Ideas)
The plan shouldn’t change if we miss out on Machado & Harper. Next year we simply go after Arenado, Rendon, & Bogaerts. Definitely puts a ton of pressure on us to land one of those guys, but that’s still better than taking on a bad long-term contract IMO.

Dodgers & Reds trade (Kemp, Puig, & Wood to CIN, Bailey, Josiah Gray & Jeter Downs to LA)
How in the world is that even remotely as impactful?
-
Dodgers & Reds trade (Kemp, Puig, & Wood to CIN, Bailey, Josiah Gray & Jeter Downs to LA)
You can’t honestly think they added Alonso for any other reason but to improve their chances with Machado right?
