  1. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 02:30 PM) I think it's just time to come to grips with the fact that this is just not a good team. I've kept a much more level head this past week & watched objectively. They are just not good. Sucks to say but seems like a reality at this point. The problem is we only have four guys who should be really good hitters. The front office passed on a bunch of free agent upgrades this offseason, despite being a buyer's market. Instead, they went dumpster diving at a bunch of spots (with the exception of Frazier) and those additions have basically provided nothing. Our offseason plan was horribly designed and I'm not sure if that should fall on Hahn/KW or Reinsdorf, but the team is a very tough spot right now.
  2. Lawrie with a 31% K rate, up 50% over his career average. Absolutely mind-boggling there hasn't been a coaching with all the guys with s***ty approaches at the plate.
  3. I feel bad for that baby having to sit through this garbage performance from our offense. SCORE SOME f***ING RUNS!?!
  4. And a double play takes out our first base runner of the game.
  5. Shuck breaks up the no-hitter!
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 01:58 PM) Burdi with quite the end to his career. Ouch What happened?
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 01:55 PM) They should fire Ventura first and see if that does anything for a few weeks. They definitely should, but they won't. They also need to add another hitter ASAP. This team is going nowhere with a 5-6-7-8 of Lawrie-Avila-.Garcia-Shuck. Too many bad players in the lineup right now.
  8. Ventura strikes out the side, two on three pitches. This offense is a f***ing joke.
  9. Quickest strikeout ever for Lawrie.
  10. Offense needs to start doing something and do so soon.
  11. QUOTE (chisoxt @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 01:28 PM) But you're probably right -I should cut him some slack I watched him pitch plenty and he's no doubt been frustrating to watch, but I think you went a little over the top there.
  12. QUOTE (chisoxt @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 01:21 PM) I hate high draft choice pitchers. On top of it, we rushed the kid. With Boras as his agent, he'll figure it out when He hits free agency Lol...all this because of one run.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 10:58 AM) Funny, when Avila does that, he is washed up. Trolling ain't easy.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 12, 2016 -> 09:27 AM) Must win. Agree, can't afford to lose another series to an AL Central opponent.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 11:51 AM) Hahn is 50% crazy just for mentioning May and Engel as possible options. No opposing GM would take that seriously. Not like mentioning them will give him more leverage, since they're not close to ready for the big leagues. When did Hahn mention them as possible options?
  16. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 11, 2016 -> 10:59 AM) Engel really struggled at AA at first. They had to send him down to A for a regroup. It worked he's hitting better now, but if you think he'd come up to the bigs and hold his own you're crazy. Engel is a guy that should stay at AA the rest of the season. Absolutely no reason to rush him.
  17. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 10:10 PM) Meanwhile Junior Guerra lowered his ERA to 3.31. We're fine for starter depth though so it was definitely smart to put him on waivers. Hey, whatever happened to De Aza? Seems like you don't pop in here anymore bragging about him.
  18. Alright Robertson, no base runners! You're allowed to give one hit this inning as long as no one else reaches base!
  19. How many outs have we run into tonight? A perfect example of an area where a manager directly impacts the game.
  20. Insurance runs please! Or at least one more Tim Anderson at-bat!
  21. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 09:51 PM) Reminds me of the time when Timo Perez was a DH for a game or two. Reminds me of the time Mark Kotsay was our DH for a season instead of Jim Thome.
