Alright Abreu, time to extend that hit streak with your first HR in weeks. No more f***ing around, we need you to man up and tie this game now. -

QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 23, 2015 -> 05:24 PM) Say what you will about Sanchez, but Flowers is the biggest weak link on this team. His CERA is awful, average pitch framer coming into this season, has forgotten how to take a walk when he was an OBP machine in the minors, average blocker with balls in the dirt, minimal contact rate, below average CS%. At least Sanchez can throw the leather. 100% agree. We can't keep trotting Flowers out there on a regular basis. Soto hasn't been very good either, but I'm willing to give him an extended look as the starter and hope that more playing time leads to better at-bats. It should be clear to all of us that Flowers is not the answer. -

I honestly think we got to get Melky out of the two-hole. Move him down to sixth and see if he can get his offense going. No idea who I'd bat second though. Sanchez is not an option IMO, which leaves you Alexei or Conor/Gordon. -

It's a miracle that we've scored three runs with this lineup. If the Sox can hang around for another month or so, Hahn better find an upgrade at C or 3B. -

And I think most of you are completely wrong about Littlefinger's feelings towards Sansa. Dude is obsessed with her as she reminds him of her mother, the only women Littlefinger ever loved. He would definitely not purposely put her in harm's way, hell he killed Lysa without a solid plan in place to protect her. The idea that he would give her up to Ramsey Bolton is beyond ridiculous. Of course the show uses the "I've never heard much about him" excuse, which goes against everything we know about Littlefinger. This is a guy who is very calculating, there is no way he wouldn't have done his research on a potential marriage partner for Sansa. I'm fine with changes from the books, but this move go against his character and is stupid IMO. -

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ May 20, 2015 -> 05:20 PM) But that response doesn't answer the two biggest issues with Littlefinger's plan. He needs Sansa alive, yet he does no research re: Ramsay. If Sansa is dead, do you really think the fiercely independent North bows to Littlefinger - even if he avenges Sansa's death/routs the Boltons? Littlefinger barely has control of the Vale - and only through Robin Arryn. Again, acknowledging that the books and show are different entities on this point, why would the Lords of the Vale agree to go to war on Robin Arryn/Littlefinger's say so?* On the rape, it's a plot device that, like the Jamie-Cersei rape, halts the momentum it seems like the show was trying to build for the character. Jamie is on a redemptive arc, but then he rapes Cersei setting back any growth he's shown as a character. Sansa finally starts to gain some agency/stop becoming a victim. Half a season into that arc, she gets raped while Theon watches. I get that it's a plot device to replace Jeyne Poole and I've been dreading the scene all season. I'm saying it was poorly done and slows/halts Sansa's character growth. She's back to the damsel in distress that needs to be saved - by either Theon or Brienne. Also of note, don't get me started on how dumb the Dorne scenes were this week. After how well they portrayed Oberyn last season, the portrayal of the Sand Snakes has been comically awful. EDIT: * I acknowledge that Robin Arryn is the ruler of the Vale, but as we've seen in King's Landing, the decisions of a weak leader are not really respected. Littlefinger is an outsider in the Vale - the foundation has not been laid for him to be able to send the Vale to war. Great post. 100% agree with everything here. -
I think his improved K rate is making him a legitimate option for the 4th OF role at some point in the future, but overall his offensive numbers aren't very impressive. Or said another way, he doesn't look close to starter material IMO. However, if he can be even passable with the bat in small doses, his ability as a good to plus defender at all three OF spots will make him a very solid bench player. In fact, I think there's a decent chance he replaces Shuck at some point this year.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 20, 2015 -> 09:50 AM) .279/.466/.861 in May. Huge, huge problem. He is killing the offense. Considering how much you pined for Grady Sizemore, and couldn't have been more wrong, why don't you give this a little time? I think you are wrong yet again. Not only is LaRoche a slow starter, but he has also been adjusting to a new league and the DH mentality. If there's one guy on the team we should give some time before writing-off it's Adam.

QUOTE (onedude @ May 20, 2015 -> 03:53 AM) Last episode is rated the worst episode on Rotten Tomatoes. I agree. Not a fan of this season at all. I knew they needed to change things, subtract here, add here, condense and reestablish things...but the direction they've gone with doing that has not been good at all this season. Going with Dorne as the main new storyline this season has been a failure...especially cutting Arianne, Darkstar, Oakheart, Quentyn, and Aegon. Yeah, they've really botched the Dorne storyline IMO. Too little character development and world building. Honestly, most of the storylines feel a bit rushed this season. I was all for condensing books 4 & 5, but I really think they've gone too far. Also, I find the Sansa storyline completely ridiculous and counter-productive for the character. -
