One thing mentioned in the chat was that Danish was in the top 10 at one point, which means he was probably #10 before we traded for Davidson. Danish at #11 is pretty reasonable ranking. Still surprised he wasn't ranked higher than May, but Manuel really gushed over May's tools (including his 80 speed) and admitted he was surprised by him after watching him play in the White Sox organization.. Another interesting note from the chat was Manuel explaining why Carlos Sanchez was dropped from the top 10. He basically said it wasn't that the fact that Sanchez struggled at AAA, but the reasons why he struggled. Apparently he gained some weight last year and lost his quickness. Manuel said Carlos wouldn't be able to play a decent SS in his current condition, which would hurt his chances of making the majors.

Viciedo posted a 114 wRC+ in the 2nd half of last year. Had he been that productive over the course of the full season, he would have led the team in that stat (Garcia has a 109 wRC+ with us). What's funny is that he has the potential to be way better than that too. His BB% has plenty of room to grow, he just needs to learn how to be more selective on a consistent basis. At times last year he appeared to be making progress in this area, but would quickly return to bad habits and become overly aggressive. I still have faith he will improve his plate discipline at the major league level because of the significant improvement he demonstrated in 2011 at AAA (8.9 BB% and 16.4 K%). Like any other young player making adjustments, he simply needs more ABs against good major league pitching. The physical talent is clearly there, not giving another 600 PAs and a chance to work with Steverson would incredibly short-sighted IMO.

If we trade Dunn, does Konerko become the everyday DH? Or do we platoon someone with Konerko and if so who? Not a lot of internal left-handed options. While I'm fine with moving Dunn, I'd at least like to give his at-bats to a young player. Simply dumping him to clear more ABs for Paulie seems counter-productive to me.

Shocked Barnum hasn't made a list yet. He had a really nice September with a .914 OPS and a BB:K ratio of 7:10. I know it was an incredibly small sample size, but it's still a very promising sign IMO. Another sleeper I'd go with is Rangel Ravelo. He had a really nice year at Winston-Salem and while his HR numbers leave a lot to be desired for a 1B, he demonstrated excellent gap power last season. He should start 2014 as a 22 year old in AA and maybe we'll start seeing some of those doubles turn into HRs in the near future.

Let's assume it's Ramirez, we could be looking at something like this next year: 1. Adam Eaton, CF (25) 2. Marcus Semien, SS (23) 3. Avisail Garcia, RF (22) 4. Jose Abreu, 1B (27) 5. Dunn/Konerko, DH 6. Dayan Viciedo, LF (25) 7. Matt Davidson, 3B (23) 8. Insert Catcher Here 9. Gordon Beckham, 2B (27) Outside of the DH spot, everyone in the lineup is 27 or younger with some potential. If you can get someone like Grandal for catcher, that lineup quickly becomes very interesting. Gotta love what Hahn has added in the past 6 months.

But unfortunately for him, the kid who killed his family was a rich, over-privileged white kid and accountability does not aply to them.
