  1. You know the trade is a total fucking disaster when Harold can’t even show his face to defend it.
  2. Just got out of a meeting, how does the return look??
  3. lol…but honestly, they’ll have to spend it on something. I can’t see us rocking a sub $80M payroll even when rebuilding. And if they dump Benintendi, we’re basically sitting on nothing. I just don’t see the allure of signing the tier of free agent that will likely fall off a cliff before you can ever be competitive again.
  4. We’re on pace for 120 losses. We need a talent infusion, not an extra $16M to go buy Santander before he turns into a pumpkin.
  5. Officially under 30 hours to go! Hopefully Getz got his adderall prescription refilled because he’s got a long night ahead of him!
  6. Smoke from where? Haven’t seen a single person outside this board suggest the Sox are trying to dump Benintendi by packaging him with someone of value.
  7. De Paula for Fedde straight up would be a no brainer
  8. I gotta disagree with most of what you say here. Fedde is 100% gone. If the value isn’t there now, it won’t be there come the offseason. Pham is 100% gone as well. To say a contender wouldn’t want a guy with a 140 wRC+ against LHP is just silly. Kopech I’d put at a 95% chance of being moved. The Sox probably won’t just give him away, but I think they are highly motivated to move on from him and in this market someone will offer something of value. I’d put DeJong at 75% chance of being moved. You will only get a lottery ticket for him and perhaps there is a small chance the Sox decide to hold him for posturing reasons, but I seriously. Hell, I’d probably put Flexen at like 50% of being moved, although you will practically get nothing for him since he’s more or less just an innings eater.
  9. Jon Morosi has to be the worst insider in the game right now. Trying to hype up Stowers in a potential Skubal package lol
  10. Yeah, Brebbia is getting moved. He has been incredible since June 1st with a 2.86 ERA, 1.56 FIP, 13.5 K/9, and 5.5 K to BB ratio. Someone will want him and hopefully give up something a bit more interesting than your standard lottery ticket.
  11. LaRussa would never tank his resume being the manager of this s%*# show.
  12. We are now under 34 hours to go and still no moves from Getz. The SP market is basically at a standstill, but once the first big move happens there we should start seeing all the dominos fall. I’m not worried about Fedde being moved and Crochet is likely going to be a buzzer beater if anything actually happens there. I’m just surprised we haven’t seen a smaller move yet. Outside of the big three, Kopech seems like he carries the most value because of theoretical upside and the extra year of control. With the demand for relievers and the activity there already, you gotta hope they can do something with him today. Same applies to Brebbia and potentially Banks to a lesser extent. As for Pham & DeJong, sell these guys now before potential suitors settle on other options. These guys never had that much value to begin with and should not be held until deadline day hoping for some sort of overpay. Move them today and give yourself more flexibility on the bigger ticket items that likely require a looming deadline to get over the finish line.
  13. The amount of sheer volume this early seems to exceed anything that has been done in the past. You don’t think that’s true?
  14. He may not be as valuable as Fedde, but he’s not valueless.
  15. The Dodgers have stuff that makes sense for Fedde and can help facilitate a trade to the Cardinals if they are the most interested team. Obviously Edman isn’t coming to Chicago in this hypothetical three way.
  16. Now this would be sweet!
  17. 62%…how the f*** can this org not teach these guys to elevate the ball?!
  18. Is that a true stat? Thought I heard that on the broadcast today and said no fucking way that could be true.
  19. Not suggesting I support a Walker trade, but at least he has youth on his side unlike those other two
  20. I think you are underestimating the delicacy of the situation. We are few bad moves away from a decade of futility. Hiring an unqualified GM from what is one of the most insular orgs in all of baseball doesn’t inspire much confidence either. Why should Sox fans be optimistic at the moment exactly? And just because Jerry may have not been the worst owner in the past, doesn’t mean he isn’t the worst right now as a stubborn 80 year old who is willing to undermine the authority of his key decision makers to do things his way. Our org is becoming more & more outdated by the day because our dinosaur of an owner refuses to evolve to the modern game. We are literally handicapped in a way few other teams are and him willing to spend like an upper middle market team doesn’t change that fact.
  21. Larson is certainly interesting IMO, but he’s a boom or bust type prospect and it’s scary that’s all we have to show for Santos less than a year after making the trade.
