Ozzie did saythat he feels like Jerry knows who the guy will be to replace to KW based on that end of season comment. I kind of agree with that. I think Jerry has someone in mind and has likely begun discussions with them.

They should hire him as President of Baseball Ops…been saying this for a while now, but can’t imagine you can just pluck a front office member mid-season without their permission. Hopefully I’m wrong there because Chernoff would be a fantastic hire.

Mid season though? I would assume it would require the Indian’s consent until the season is over.

To be fair, what other internal candidate would there be? I’m guessing this is just posturing to make these guys feel warm & fuzzy until a new Baseball Ops leader is brought and can decide Chris’ fate.

Late to the party here, but definitely feels like it has to be someone not tied down to another organization presently and zero chance Jerry goes with Getz or an internal given how important this hire potentially is to the value of his franchise. As such, it has to be a former GM currently not employed. Anyone have any ideas?

If Jerry ever moved the Sox out of Chicago, then baseball would officially be dead to me. I would not give the league a single second of my time or a penny of my money. As someone who is addicted to this god-forsaken franchise, being away from it when I lived in Nashville was impossibly tough. And while my fandom stayed strong through MLBTV, Soxtalk, blogs, Fegan, etc., not being a part of the live experience was hard. And that experience is all about Chicago, our fans, and our culture. There is something unique about this franchise that has kept me loyal through all these down years and that can’t be replaced with a bunch of Nashville assholes. I know many fans here aren’t local, but the White Sox that we all love only exist within the confines of Chicago and no one should be cool with Jerry taking that away from us.

Well that would be ideal and given his wife’s passing, maybe reality is finally settling in for him.

It really is weird timing. It’s almost like Jerry has turned full heal and wants to destroy what little love for the franchise us Sox fans have left.

I was talking with my good friend recently who is a diehard Cubs and we were trying to come up with an owner worse than Jerry. Ultimately we settled on Donald Sterling and maybe the Pirates owner. It’s definitely short company and Jordan is definitely camouflage that hides how bad he’s been.

But seriously, f*** Jerry Reinsdorf. What a fucking asshole and I can’t wait until the day this franchise is finally free of his terror.
