  1. I don’t disagree on the dangers of a crowd rush. I’m just saying doing nothing doesn’t seem like a good response either. There should be some tactical way to de-risk the situation without inducing mass panic.
  2. I’m not sure I’m following your point here? Three people were hurt in a crowd rush? If there was an actual active shooter, that would be a small price to pay for saving many innocent lives. And I’m not suggesting they should have sounded a panic alarm and told everyone to rush for the exits. But I certainly wouldn’t have left people 20 people away from a shooting for the remainder of the game with no explanation of how it actually happened. Also, do you think if that random stray strikes the woman’s head and not her leg, the game would have gone on? There were literally kids hopping up the stairs seconds before the bullet struck. If it hits one of them do they stop the game and take it more seriously? In your mind, what would it have taken to trigger some actual action?
  3. They didn’t know the cause of the shooting, which is the entire point I’m making here. They may have guessed it was a random stray, but as indicated in their release this morning they’re still not quite sure what happened. How did they know more bullets wouldn’t come flying in? They didn’t know where the shots came from, so they didn’t know the motive of the shooter and whether it was intentional. Why in the world you take any chance and leave fans there? Yes, I’ll take my sons to future Sox games (if they are ever good again…lol), but last night I would have no doubt left immediately if there was any chance some fucks were purposely shooting into the park. And guess what, the Sox didn’t give me a choice because they didn’t inform anyone of the shooting until well after the concert was cancelled. They made the call there was no immediate threat despite having no fucking idea what had actually happened. And that there is the entire problem with how they handled things last night.
  4. The goal is to avoid “more causalities” and yet they let people continue to sit within 20 feet of where three people were struck by bullets. How did they know more bullets wouldn’t come raining down on fans? Like I don’t even get the argument here. Doing nothing is 100% unacceptable.
  5. I think we need to see if there will be an actual process or if Jerry basically has his mind made up already like Nightengale is suggesting. I’m pretty pessimistic on the former, although it’s possible he has few guys in mind for the role and there will be actual interviews amongst those select few. I don’t see him taking his time and interviewing a bunch of up-and-coming executives from other organizations though. Just doesn’t feel like his style.
  6. Biggest White Sox mystery since the clubhouse napper case. But yeah, it seems pretty far-fetched physics wise (if it did indeed strike three people) but more likely than a shot going off during the game and no one actually reacting.
  7. But that’s the thing…they don’t know or at least didn’t know where the shot came from at that time. But you really think if there is someone firing bullets into the park from the outside, the best course of action is to not stop the game, keep the fans and players where they are, and assume more shots won’t be coming in? There is no way for them to know for sure there wasn’t an active threat at the time and they did absolutely nothing to protect the fans or players. I get masking the cancellation of the concert with a made-up “technical” issue to prevent mass chaos, but I don’t find it particularly cool that a bullet flew into the LF bleachers two innings before I was walking my nine & six year old boys around the LF concourse. That’s fucking bullshit and honestly I find it way worse than if someone had snuck a gun in and security had actually apprehended a suspect.
  8. Here is the link to the article above: https://www.bleachernation.com/cubs/2023/08/26/white-sox-shooting-incident/
  9. Very hard to believe a bullet fired a mile away could somehow achieve the necessary trajectory to both land in the LF bleachers and strike three people. Regardless, these assholes were going to keep rocking and rolling with this overpriced, shitty product until the CPD declared the park a crime scene.
  10. Seriously, this statement from the Sox is more embarrassing than a Grifol presser. Imagine thinking that somehow, someway a person was shooting into the park from the outside and struct a fan in the leg (plus grazing another) and you just assumed said shooter wouldn’t keep firing? Like I’m now legit fucking pissed. This is gross misconduct and the Sox are lying through their teeth if this is story and they kept on playing. What a fucking s%*# show.
  11. Official Sox statement. They claim they don’t even know where the bullet came from, but somehow felt there was no active threat to fans? I’m sorry, but this makes them look way fucking worse for not shutting the game down. What a bunch of assholes.
  12. The White remain radio silent. Maybe they’re hoping if they simply ignore the story, the news will quickly go away…lol.
  13. Pretty wild the Sox aren’t releasing a statement tonight. Can’t wait until the national media gets ahold of this and rips these fucks to shreds.
  14. I don’t know man, I seriously doubt many people try to sneak their guns into a Sox game. How would you plan to get a pistol through a metal detector?
  15. I’ll be honest, it’s going to look fucking horrible if there was a shooting in the park and they kept playing. Even if it was an accidental discharge, the fact a gun was allowed inside should have resulted in an immediate shut down of the game. Brooks Boyer must be working like crazy behind the scenes to come up with a story that doesn’t make our org look like completely fucking idiots.
  16. Lol…either do I, unfortunately I was there tonight and didn’t have a choice but to watch in disgust. I left around 8:00ish, which I was believe sometime in the 6th inning. Where did you see the time of the shooting?
