  1. I’m not trading Vaughn & Kopech in the same trade for Soto. Just way too steep of a price IMO, especially if you’re trying to compete over the next couple years.
  2. Maybe 2 WAR season? The dude basically averaged 4.6 fWAR from 2017 to 2020 if you prorate his 2020 stats. He solves multiple needs if healthy (LH bat, power, OBP, average RF defense). I’m not even advocating for him because the health is a question mark and I’d like someone who can help us right now, but comparing him to 35 year old Josh Harrison is fucking ridiculous.
  3. Lol…he put up 2.0 fWAR in a 60 game season! He was on pace for a 5.4 win season!
  4. Holy shit - Reading your posts is like a written depiction of Rick Hahn’s thought process and it’s very terrifying.
  5. Probably should contract the franchise based on this outlook.
  6. Revised post draft rankings: Colson Montgomery, SS* Oscar Colas, OF* Bryan Ramos, 3B Noah Schultz, LHP* Lenyn Sosa, 2B Norge Vera, RHP Jose Rodriguez, SS/2B Wes Kath, 3B* Peyton Pallette, RHP Sean Burke, RHP Christian Mena, RHP Outside of adding the two draftees, Ramos has jumped Sosa and Popeye leaped several spots due to his positive regression at AA.
  7. I think if Vaughn had an extra year of control, him being the centerpiece for Soto would be much more appealing to the Nat’s. Instead we wasted a year of control to have him play in like three games over the first two weeks of last season.
  8. I’m not challenging it, but just curious how small of a sample we’re talking about first round talents who happen to be that tall.
  9. How many guys his height have been drafted in the first round over the past 10 years or so?
  10. The Athletic had an article outlining potential trade packages and threw out Eloy, Vaughn, Montgomery, Colas, & Vera for the Sox. They then said that wouldn’t be enough and a package would need to start with Cease & Robert. I think we can safely close this thread.
  11. That’s 31st overall value, which seems in the realm of possible. Not banking on it, but just saying there is a path.
  12. Punt our 3rd & 4th round picks and you should be able to give Toman $2.4M.
  13. He’s clearly signing bro. Him being local probably helps a ton.
  14. Going to be interesting if Prielipp, Gilbert, & Toman are all there. I still think they go with Gilbert though.
  15. Seriously? How much time between picks in the 1st?
  16. Man this would have been a lot more fun with that compensation pick. Oh well, at least we’ll see two picks tonight.
  17. Best path forward is hoping Eloy & Vaughn can cover LF & DH. At this point, Pollock should be additional depth in the event Eloy can’t stay healthy. And then go out and a get a RF who hits LH and can be at least average defensively.
  18. I honestly think a Pollock for Gallo swap could have worked, but AJ has been so bad as of late that his player option becomes a legit risk of being accepted. After that, I really struggle who might make sense. Naquin is probably the best cheap rental option for RF, but’s not going to be a game changer for us.
  19. He’s not vaccinated? If so, even more reason to go in a different direction.
  20. It’s pricey when you have multiple kids in your system who can give you similar production for $600k and it’s dumb when he’ll be 36 years old and likely coming off a low 1 win season. But I know how you love your veteran UT guys Rick!
