You’re selling him at low point. His swing may be a mess right, but he’s more likely to fix it than not and immensely increase his value. -

They’re better than what they’re showing, but we’re definitely going to get exploited against tough righties. Pretending that Leury is somehow better against RHP than our actual good hitters doesn’t help. -

Great hitters underperforming will eventually regress to the mean. Batting a legit bad hitter 2nd or 3rd is terrible decision-making and there is reason to be concerned that this type of shit will continue for the rest of the season. Doing it now just adds insult to injury. -

Your need to defend the manager or GM’s poor decision making is something. -

We all knew Tony would overuse the shit out of Leury the moment we brought him back, but never in a million years did I think he’d bad multiple 2nd or 3rd in the lineup three games in a row. God help us all… -

Leury hitting left-handed doesn’t make him good against RHP. If Tony could look up splits he’d know but at that would be asking for too much. -
How Concerned Should We Be?

Has anyone in the media questioned Tony on his reasoning to hit Leury 3rd? Seems like something James Fegan would be all over. The rest of the media not so much. -
Yeah no thanks…dude should be criticized for making epically bad baseball decisions and not get a free pass because the team is talented to still win despite his best efforts.

Holy shit is Omar Vizquel managing for us again? I thought we were done platooning top prospects in the minors.

How Concerned Should We Be?

The first three have also gotten super unlucky. Here are their wOBAs vs xwOBAs: Robert: .242 | .426 Abreu: .294 | .448 Grandal: .179 | .323 Those guys should normalize at some point, especially Grandal’s walk rate. Add Vaughn, Tim, and the return of Pollock & Moncada eventually and we should have plenty of offense to destroy LHP and beat up on weak RHP. Tough righties will still be a challenge and Eloy really need to figure his shit out soon because he’s typically been one our best hitters against RHP. Still feels like a left-handed bat somewhere (2B?) would be very helpful. -

And that’s the frustrating part. Early in the offseason Hahn acknowledged that we needed help against LHP and did absolutely nothing to address the need. And coming out of the lockout he said adding pitching depth was a priority and his big move is signing Velesquez. Nothing he can do about Tony, but Hahn completely ignored our two biggest needs and it could eventually cost with enough bad luck and/or health. I like some of the moves Hahn made in isolation, but overall it was a really bad offseason. -
How can anyone watch this kid and not see a top 100 prospect? The bat looks legit special.

Don’t win them, but you certainly can lose them when you throw away winnable games. -
How Concerned Should We Be?
Chicago White Sox replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Here’s the thing. Dallas Keuchel may be approaching the end of the road. Even if Lucas comes back soon, how do we survive with a rotation that only has three good starters? Beyond that, Hahn did absolutely NOTHING to address our weakness against tough RHP this offseason? How do we overcome that in the near term? And finally, Tony La Russa is going to continue making horrible baseball decisions that cost us games. There is no cure for that when the owner has empowered him over the entire front office. I’m not looking to be a pessimist here or overreact to a bad double header, but multiple flaws were highlighted today and none of them have an easy solve. Hopefully the roster is talented enough to overcome these weaknesses, but it’s very clear to me that Jerry & Hahn have opened up this team to unnecessary risk with their coaching & personnel decisions. -

GT: Sox @ Guardians Game 2: Lambert vs. McKenzie
Chicago White Sox replied to ChiSox59's topic in 2022 Season in Review
Do you judge the process or the outcome? Anything can happen in an individual baseball game, but hoping four trash hitters carry your offense is the definition of insanity. -
I didn’t get home until the bottom of the 9th of game 2, but based on the box score alone I can’t recall a single double header more embarrassing than this one. For those who actually watched the games, how bad was it? Is Dallas basically cooked? Is Tony going to be a detriment all season? Does this team feel like they have the division locked down and are getting cocky? Is the lack of left-handed hitting going to be a routine problem? It’s easy to overreact to a bad couple of games, but it’s also hard not to be concerned when major areas of weakness were completely exploited today. Please share your thoughts for those of us not able to watch.

Because this is baseball and one bad game against Shane Bieber doesn’t mean you will automatically suck the next game? -
Definitely didn’t a quality left-handed hitter like Conforto.
