  1. Bowden has us connected to Montas & Happ in his last article. If true, my guess is Hahn is floating Crochet, Ramos, and/or Popeye for a difference maker and just not getting much excitement.
  2. What I find funny is even his bread & butter, which was extending young talent, has dried up in recent years. Not a single home grown starter has been signed long-term, which means we’ve got three years of control left for Cease & Kopech and one year for Giolito. And because of the awesome decision to burn a year of service time in exchange for four April games, Vaughn is only controllable for four years after this one. I get it takes two to tango, but just shocking not one of these guys was interested in locking up money after so many guys before them did.
  3. Fegan has hinted at the SP market being too expensive for our liking, so I’m starting to think it’s going to be some LH bat plus a couple relievers. Maybe that’s all that’s needed to win the Central, but it’s a shame that we can’t compete for any impact talent without completely gutting the system and/or pulling up the major league roster.
  4. I’ve been saying it for a while now, but Ramos is going to start cracking top 100 lists by the end of the year. Fangraphs had him as our #1 prospect entering the season and now has him only behind Montgomery (ranked #81 overall) in their latest update. Baseball America has him #2 in their mid-season update as well. I think if Colas continues to hit well in AA, he’ll jump onto most top 100 lists and will likely be viewed as the consensus #2 prospect in the system. Still, three top 100 caliber prospects is a massive improvement from where we were entering the season.
  5. I’m sure they’re asking, but no one is going to pay much for him. I’ve seen the Rangers speculation but don’t really get why they’d trade for Gallo. Padres make a bit more sense given the Preller connection.
  6. Colson is ranked #52 by Baseball America.
  7. ERA is great but peripherals suggest significant regression is coming.
  8. I’ve always liked Givens and would be cool with acquiring if the price is reasonable. He’s an upgrade over Ruiz, Foster, & Lambert.
  9. Imagine the outrage if we traded for Rodon
  10. I mean look at this psycho…lol
  11. This dude literally sent me a DM last night trying to make fun of me for being angry about the shitty performance last night in the game thread. Pretty sure he’s sent aggressive DMs to other posters too. I know the internet is filled with keyboard warriors, but going out of your way to rip people for not being happy about an incredibly underachieving team is straight up hilarious to me.
  12. What tweet are you referring to?
  13. Sounds like if he’s ready, it’s a DH only capacity FWIW
  14. I like Harrison as a backup IF, just asking too much of him to expect everyday production.
  15. Legendary RBI right there!
  16. Looks we got act Oller on the mound today
  17. Kath with the golden sombrero. He’s been a major disappointment for me this year, although still plenty young enough to right the ship.
  18. Updated predictions based on GOAT insider Portillo’s latest rumors. Please note that all these trades work on BBTV and I even added a ~20% premium to reflect the trade deadline effect on prices, so I think we can all agree these are 100% fair and will certainly be accepted by opposing GMs. LHP Garrett Crochet, 3B Bryan Ramos, & RHP Matthew Thompson to CIN for RHP Tyler Mahle 3B/DH Jake Burger, IF Yogurt Sánchez, & LHP Brooks Gosswein for 2B Joey Wendle & LHP Tanner Scott RHP Tyler Johnson to NYY for RF Joey Gallo RHP Andrew Dalquist to CHC for RHP Mychal Givens We’d be giving up two major league assets in Crochet & Burger while also giving up our #2, #10, #16, & #19 prospects per BA’s mid-season rankings. That being said, we keep all the savages and most of our higher ceiling prospects. Perhaps it’s too big of a cost, but look at how much stronger this roster potentially is. Anderson, SS Moncada, 3B# Vaughn, DH Abreu, 1B Gallo, RF* Jimenez, LF Robert, CF Grandal, C# Wendle, 2B* IF: Harrison OF: Pollock OF: Engel UT: Garcia# BC: McGuire* / Zavala Cease Mahle Lynn Giolito Cueto Kopech 9th: Hendriks 8th: Bunmer* 8th: Graveman 7th: Scott* 7th: Lopez 6th: Givens 6th: Kelly 5th: Lambert
