- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Why did he agree to this?- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I just don’t understand why they didn’t just sign a legit SP if you had $46M to spend?- 3/31 | White Sox @ Reds | 8:05PM CT | Radio Only
Hasn’t he batted there pretty much every game he’s played? Seems inevitable at this point.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
His issues clearly went beyond being a setup man. Personally I think he mostly wore down from a large innings increase and his mechanics got out of whack. I agree the adrenaline probably does help to some extent though and at this point I’d rather go with Kimbrel as closer and use Hendriks in a much more dynamic, high leverage role.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Hadn’t see this yet, but fully agree with everything here.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
If we’re going down this insane path, why not just make Kimbrel the closer for three months? I get it sucks for Hendriks, but he’s already said he’d be ok with it and in all honesty it allows you to use Hendriks in even higher leverage situations than Tony normally does by limiting him to the 9th. Unfortunately it’s very clear the org’s plan is to ignore Kimbrel’s dislike of a setup role and simply hope for the best.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Deal should be done yesterday then.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
While 100% true, effectively filling needs via free agency is far more critical to maximizing our chances to win a championship in 2022.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I think the value equation for them losing a pick for a short term deal with Conforto is too costly.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I know we’re out, but who is going to give him that deal?- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Wow…that’s pretty wild- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Honestly, it feels like we haven’t had a true left-handed savage since Thome, which is a dozen plus years ago. At least between Colas, Montgomery, & Kath they are finally trying to develop one or two of them. But those three aren’t helping us this year.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Oh boy…that’s a bit terrifying.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I think Romy’s got a much larger ceiling than Yogurt.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I didn’t hear it, but I’m sure any deal involves a SP. Don’t think a savage will be coming unfortunately…we gotta pray that Sheets and eventually Colas develop into them.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I’m not defending the plan, just stating what Hahn is probably thinking.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Plus you already had Leury as a temporary insurance policy at 2B. Definitely would have preferred going with Romy at 2B and buying Ray or Gausman than trading something from a weak farm system for Manaea. And have a bad feeling if a deal goes down it will end up being Ramos++ and that kid will probably turn into a superstar 3B.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Like something is actually cooking or theoretically it could happen?- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
That the Sox are still looking for improvements?- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I still can’t believe we didn’t pursue Robby Ray or Kevin Gausman if adding a starter was going to be a primary offseason goal. Both guys got super reasonable deals and would have made this roster considerably stronger than what we currently have. All it would have taken is not exercising Kimbrel’s option and not signing Harrison. And it’s not like we have an obvious starter pitching candidate to replace Keuchel after the season anyways unless they work a miracle with Crochett, so a multi-year commitment should have been far less of a concern. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be very happy if we can somehow land Manaea, but just seems like prioritizing Ray or Gausman would have been the better play.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I mean, the thought is probably to trade Kimbrel for prospects and turn around and trade those prospects for help in another area. Doesn’t make it much more logical, but I’m guessing that is Hahn’s plan.- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
What’s your beef with Sheets buddy?- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
So no left-handing hitting is ok?- Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
I’m 100% out on Conforto to the Sox after Stone’s comment and the Haseley trade. I think SP is probably the priority right now for Hahn with backup catcher a secondary consideration. - Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
