  1. I’m confident they will have better luck the second time through
  2. 116 wRC+ last year and 130 heading into night, so still one of best even with the Sox.
  3. Honestly, at bare minimum they need a utility player upgrade over Leury. Mendick & Engel make him completely redundant and he’s just a terrible hitter. Get an actual left-handed bat and not a guy Tony will continue to play in the wrong matchups.
  4. He’s routinely one of the best offensive catchers in the game
  5. That’s awesome to hear. Everyone has to work rough hours for stretches, but if there isn’t a light at the end of the tunnel you got jump ship. Life is too short to endure that stress, especially if you can find better balance without taking a huge pay cut.
  6. Maybe Tony should sit this series and give someone else on the bench a shot then.
  7. The Sox should move Grandal to the #2 spot in the lineup. Having the slap factory behind him doesn’t work well given how god damn slow he is. The value he provides in drawing walks will work much better with Yoan, Jose, & Mercedes behind him that are capable of hitting the ball out of the park.
  8. I’m expecting nothing overly exciting unless you love yourself some lawyer talk, but what if Hahn announces he is stepping down? The White Sox fan community would erupt in anger as it would confirm Tony is the top dog in the organization.
  9. The position players definitely didn’t bring it this series.
  10. Unfortunately Tony’s not going to do that unless the situation dictates it.
  11. The offense was garbage and the bullpen was bad, but Tony definitely played a large part in Friday’s loss at a minimum.
  12. I will say I don’t think Tony is doing the back-end guys any favor. Hendriks, Bummer, & Heuer shouldn’t go 4 to 7 days between outings or they will fall out of rhythm. Can’t keep saving them for situations that may never happen.
  13. Hendriks has been a huge disappointment, but he also hasn’t been bad. At a bare minimum, I think we have four quality relievers in Liam, Bummer, Heuer, & Crochet plus whatever Kopech gives you as the swingman. Those first four guys need to better, but there is no questioning their talent. We definitely need to add another piece and hope one of the other righties can figure shit out soon.
  14. I’m sorry, but La Russa is either losing it or doesn’t look at basic splits. Leury is not good as a left-handed hitter while Collins has a 114 wRC+ against RHP and is actually capable of hitting a HR and tying the game.
  15. Why are we pitch hitting with Leury?? Use Collins for Christ sake.
  16. Heuer hasn’t pitched in a week though, Bummer not since Tuesday, and Hendriks not since Wednesday. But yes, Crochet over Ruiz no doubt.
  17. We will be fine, especially when everyone is healthy. The problem is they caught us in the middle of a cold steak.
