With days off for travel, Kimbrel should only require two days off max when the team has three consecutive games. If we go the full distance (19 games) he could theoretically pitch 10% of our total innings in the playoffs, which would be super valuable.

Tough year for Benyamin Bailey. Pretty wild that they started him in Kanny and he’s since gotten demoted and has struggled in the ACL. Still young enough to rebound, but his prospect status has definitely take a hit.

And the real problem is the guys who need load management aren’t the one getting it. I’d love to rest Moncada & Abreu more frequently down the stretch so they are at their best come October. I’d also much rather maximize Vaughn’s playing time, both in terms of at-bats and playing the OF, so he’s prepared for the playoffs. Getting Leury near everyday playing time doesn’t help ourselves long-term if we’re not resting the guys in need of rest. And again, I’m not outraged by this, but definitely seems counterproductive and something that warrants discussion on a White Sox message board.

We have a chance to get home field advantage for the playoffs and should probably not overly rest one of our hottest hitters who also happens to be young & healthy. And not sure how overplaying Leury better prepares us for October. I’m not going to lose sleep over this decision, but let’s call a spade a spade. The veteran is getting a start to makeup for being on the bench last night…there is nothing more to this that is feeding some sort of greater good.

That’s all fair but Vaughn just sat out on Saturday. Don’t think this about rest, which is the concerning part.

Now I’m certain you’re just looking for attention. Dude has a .936 OPS / 155 wRC+ in his last 100 PAs against RHP. He’s probably been our best overall hitter the past month and a half. Your beef with Andrew Vaughn is very bizarre.

Without a Great Falls roster it’s going to be interesting to see how many more guys get Lency Delgado’d in the coming year or so. Guys like Krogman & Beard have legit tools, but both look like Low A repeats next year. Will there be enough OFs pushing for full season jobs at some point to create a roster crunch? Misael Gonzalez is the only OF on the ACL roster pushing for a spot right now, but other could potentially emerge. That being said, the infield situation for Low A could be pretty stacked next year with Montgomery, Kath, & Sanchez roster locks. Gladney is another guy who could quickly find himself on the bubble if he doesn’t make some strides. Nice to finally have talent pushing talent for playing time.

That’s really interesting. We basically got 1.2 years of Kimbrel, 1.2 years of Hernandez, 1.0 years of Mazara, plus whatever Stiever gives us out of the first six rounds. Not sure how to think of it when viewed through that lens, but at least there are some other guys like you mentioned where hope remains.

The best part is he said the same thing a couple weeks back and got called out, but still doesn’t get that all the brown guys aren’t from Cuba.
