  1. Wow that’s tremendous news.
  2. Great to see...he had been slowing down quite a bit as of late.
  3. Yeah, time to go hang out with the kid. We have no business winning this game with this lineup if Lucas is going to give up six runs. Have a great 4th of July.
  4. Collins has hit righties as good as anyone on this roster not named Moncada, but he’s a platoon guy. Rip his defense if you like, but people are nuts to rip his bat, especially when it’s coming primarily at catcher.
  5. This isn’t intended to be a “gotcha”, but you can’t argue both sides of this and act like his April wasn’t a decent month because of some shitty numbers against LHP (partially driven by a flukey BABIP). Eaton put up a 129 wRC+ against RHP and actually looked the part of a legit two hole hitter in April like you said. We’d all be ecstatic right now with a Eaton/Engel platoon in RF if we were getting a wRC+ of 129 from the strong side. Also, I’m with you in not liking the signing in the first place, but that’s more because Adam simply can’t stay healthy and is a below average defender. I’m 100% for upgrading RF because we can’t bank on Eaton being the guy we saw in April as his body likely won’t allow it.
  6. Lol...let’s hope so. And let’s also hope he finds a way to stop giving up so many HRs. Seems like he’s throwing way more meatballs this year than in recent seasons and his HR rates are up on all three pitches.
  7. Haven’t his day game numbers actually been better than his night game figures?
  8. Depends on how the D-Backs view Ruiz. I’m not a huge fan of his stuff despite getting decent results this year and wouldn’t be surprised if they wanted something else.
  9. I actually said at the time it was too early to draw any conclusions, but @Look at Ray Ray Run can’t say to “relax it’s one good month” after he himself was hyping up Eaton’s bat as being a “perfect fit” for the two hole after that one month and speculating it would last all season.
  10. Story scares me a bit. Obviously super talented, but he’s much better against LHP and then you’ve got the whole Coors factor that makes you question his road / home splits. I’m fully aware of the hangover effect, but a 86 wRC+ on the road against RHP is a red flag. I’d still be down to acquire him, but you’d think he’d be one of the more costly rentals out there.
  11. How do we fit both Escobar & Story since according to Bob we’ve already acquired the former?
  12. It’s sad how much he’s regressed
  13. Leury batting 5th against a RHP while Collins is batting last is something.
  14. Eaton put up a 129 wRC+ against RHP in April and it wasn’t BABIP fueled luck. If he’s healthy, I’m 100% keeping him over Goodwin. And Billy Hamilton is nothing more than a 5th OF who provides value as a pinch runner and late inning defensive replacement. If we go out and add a legit RF then I could see the argument for Hamilton being the better bench option than Eaton, but otherwise our best bet is to keep Eaton well rested and hope he can be healthy for the playoffs.
  15. Hahn would never trade a former top 20 prospect for an overrated Adam Frazier with 1 1/2 years of control. It’s just completely nonsensical.
  16. It’s funny how many Sox fans on Twitter are like “you have to give to get” and support this shitty proposal.
