Why do I think a consensus top 30 prospect is a finished product as a rookie? He also focused on mechanical changes this offseason to remove some of the cut on his 4 seamer. His whiff rate is up ~25% on his fastball despite little to know change in his spin rate. I honestly think you have no idea what you are talking about at this point.

What in the fuck are you talking about? He’s literally 30th in fWAR this year and basically has 1 1/3 seasons worth of starts. He will likely regress some due to a lack of sticky stuff, but he has plenty of room for growth and he’s made substantial improvement in this year alone. Worst case scenario, he’s a damn good #4 starter and that has plenty of value when you’re under control for four more cheap years. Joc probably has negative value at this point. It’s a completely fucking stupid trade idea.

I pray to god or Bernstein needs to call it quits ASAP. That being said, it doesn’t sound like it from that clip.

Cali - You know I’m a big fan of yours, but this is a completely ridiculously summation of how most people feel. Most of us want to take a balanced approach that optimizes a 2021 to 2024 window. Meanwhile, you seem to want to go “all in” on 2021 no matter the near-term consequences it may have.

I wouldn’t definitely skip Rodon every now and then in the rotation, but I wouldn’t shut him down per se. I also think we need to find a way to get Kopech regular starts in August & September or we will be in the same boat with him next year.

Fully agree. I do like Sheets but selling high on him now would likely be the prudent thing to do. I still think a Gallo or Marte for RF is a must.

Goodwin has been great so far, but no way does he keep this up. We should still be targeting a RF upgrade and ensuring we have some depth in case more hamstrings & knees blow up.
