The Offense - Near Term Actions
Add “play Sheets” to this list. In all honesty, it’s great to see the Burger for Yermin swap, Collins rocking a 135 wRC+ against RHP, and Vaughn starting to murder righties over the last four games. We need to add some more pieces prior to the deadline, but at least some of the younger guys have stopped the bleeding for now.

It’s almost like investing in him rather wasting at-bats on Leury & Hamilton is the smart thing to do.

With everyone healthy what is your lineup for game 1 of the playoffs?
Agreed, I just don’t think he can stay healthy.

100% healthy Adam Eaton was actually quite valuable in April, the problem is we’re not going to get that guy. That being said, who are the eight outfielders you are referring to?

AZ "unlikely" to deal Marte
They’re probably better off waiting until the offseason though.

Heyman: Sox interested in someone on some team. Nightengale: *nods*
So Diamondbacks feed Heyman the first leek and the Sox feed him this one. Someone should hopefully blink soon because it’s clear we’re only two teams involved in this dance.

I think so. I’m sticking with Pilkington & Bilous as the eventual return

Burger called up
For Gallo yes, as long as Burger is considered a key piece

Burger called up
I really don’t think you can trade Burger unless it’s for a controllable piece. Each & every day he produces, the more his prospect value increases.

Don’t be hating just because you don’t have access to such privileged insider information!

IF our team is 100% healthy, IF we add no one else, & IF we’re facing a righty: Anderson, SS Moncada, 3B# Abreu, 1B Jimenez, LF Grandal, C# Robert, CF Collins, DH* Eaton, RF* Mendick, 2B That being said, we 100% need to add a 2B as Mendick isn’t going to cut it offensively. And we almost certainly need to add an OF as expecting April Adam Eaton would be incredibly foolish.

Almost impossible to answer this question without seeing who they add before the deadline.

7/1 Games
I haven’t seen him play, but the reports I read suggested he’s a strong up-the-middle defender with questionable offensive abilities so I’d say yes. It sounds like he has some decent physical tools, so maybe there is chance he develops into more? Again, being 24 in Low A doesn’t make me overly optimistic and there were some rumors that he showed up to camp out of shape (not sure if those were true or not). Regardless, at some point we need to get aggressive with him.

zack collins
I’m one of Collins’ biggest fans, but he’ll still need work on his framing in the coming years. Right now he’s in the 1% percentile per Statcast and can’t frame a strike on the corners to save his life. That being said, he appears to handle the staff pretty well and is a plus hitter against RHP (135 wRC+). To me, he should be starting everyday against RHP, with a couple starts a week at catcher and the rest at DH. And he could be super valuable in that role similar to a Mike Napoli or Evan Gattis.

Moncada to miss weekend series vs. DET
Pretty much...lol

Trade Deadline Thread
I mean, the “beyond our wildest dreams” move would be Harper. At least offensively there is no better fit for this lineup. Obviously it’s never going to happen though.

7/1 Games
Whenever they move Cespedes up to AA, they should do the same for Yogurt. He’s 24 years old and has hit decent enough for a glove first guy to make the move.

All-time Soxtalk Whipping Boy
Don’t forget how much the McStans hate Grandal!

Gavin Sheets - STUD
He’s basically been a 120 wRC+ hitter since High A and that’s with poor platoon splits against LHP dragging his numbers down. The issue with him was a lack of in game power, but that started improving at AA. I still there’s a chance he can be a valuable platoon bat in the majors, especially if he can play a halfway decent RF.

He should be up to AA pretty soon I’d imagine.

6/29 Games
It helps but it’s still an incredibly weak system.

Plus two BBS. And all three hits were off RHP. Time to accept the fact that Burger may be legit.

6/29 Games
Wow, slugfest in Kanny. Rodriguez 3/5 with a 2B. Ramos 2/5 with two 2B. Neither guy with any strikeouts. Both guys flying up the prospect rankings.
