By the way, is there anything that doesn’t trigger you? Big words like “regression”, the use of magic wands by injured players, leveraging public transportation to get to Sox games, etc. Feels like you are always getting upset about something.

It sounds like the Angels are holding onto Detmers (or at least are positioning themselves as such), so he might not be attainable. He’d certainly be the most expensive. I think Carlson + two good side pieces would be the minimum price. Chapman is a rental closer but one pitching incredibly well. Looking at last year’s trades for rental relievers, I think you’re looking at one top 10 prospect and another guy in the 11 to 15 range. As for Gray, his cost will likely come down to how much money a team will take on. I’d expect him to be cheaper than Chapman if you absorb the entire contract and buyout. To get both Chapman & Gray, if we eat most of the money owed, I’ll throw out Gabe Davis, Colby Shelton, Pierce George, & Tyler Schweitzer. That might feel light to some, but to me it reflects a fair discount for taking on Gray’s money.
