  1. If he doesn’t go, Getz should probably be fired. Unlike with Robert and even Tauchman, there is zero reason to hold onto Houser and he should be worth at least a 40 FV pitching prospect. That being said, I think he gets moved.
  2. Usually 3x the trade volume on the final day vs. the second to last. Robert & Houser will be moved. I’d expect at least one player to be moved (Tauchman or an arm). Doesn’t feel out of the ordinary. Surprisingly a lot of the bigger moves have happened early.
  3. I need Clifford or I riot. Why Gutierrez? Just because he got pulled yesterday? Also. isn’t he a catcher? I get the “don’t go for need” adage but I don’t think getting another catcher makes unless he’s got enough bat to be a legit 1B. Candidly don’t know enough about him.
  4. I definitely think they cut him before that final year, but $31M would be a lot of money for Reinsdorf to eat.
  5. His defense is terrible. You can close your eyes and pretend not to see it, but it kills pretty much all of his value. And his bat is decent but not great, so DHing him is probably not a viable option even if you ignore the Quero / Teel situation.
  6. I kind of hope they just cut Benintendi either way. We got to be getting closer to that point.
  7. Good god can you please stop with this nonsense? Like your hate for the player borderlines on creepy. The dude is at 0.8 fWAR 2/3 through the season with an xwOBA 40 points higher than his wOBA. Robert’s xwOBA of .326 is equal to Julio Rodriguez’s wOBA who is at 3.2 fWAR on the season. I’d wager large amounts of money that Robert ends up over 2 fWAR this season despite the slow start and that he ends up over 3 fWAR next year if healthy. Honestly, if you think that level of production is easily replaceable, then maybe go check the free agent list and then filter on CF. I’m not sure you’re going to love what you find there. Also, it’s strange how we don’t see constant posts from you on your boy Anthony Santander. How is he doing this year? Just weird that half your posts on this site are you tooting your own horn about Robert being bad, but there is no mention of wanting to give one of the worst players in baseball this year $90M. Funny you think finding 1 win OFers is easy when the you wanted yo hand a near nine figure contract to a guy who can’t even achieve that threshold.
  8. Jesus it looks like Robert was going to tear his Achilles when he pulled at 1B like that…lol. Put a pinch runner in ASAP!
  9. I will say I honestly didn’t think sitting them was necessary, but I certainly wouldn’t play either of them in wet conditions. That seems like a big unnecessary risk.
  10. I can’t believe these cowards benched Houser! Shouldn’t have made him man up and pitch through the rain! That would have thoroughly demonstrated TWTW!
  11. This is an absurd post. Getz signed Slater right out of the gate, dude delivered as hoped, and now has returned a prospect ranked 18th in the Yankees system by BA. We have no fucking clue if Hayes would even have considered signing with us coming off a historically bad season and what that would have cost. And honestly, Tauchman is the guy you should be comparing him to because Hayes wasn’t coming here for a platoon role. Meanwhile, Tauchman has performed nearly identical to Hayes at less than half the cost and with an extra year of control. The fact of the matter is you called both Slater and Tauchman garbage additions and wastes of money the moment we signed them when they have been arguably better signings at a lower cost in total than the guy you really wanted (who to be fair, would have also turned out to be a good signing). Just admit you were wrong on Tauchman & Slater so can end this debate once and for all.
  12. Exactly…wish we were in a position where we could trade a 4th round pick to improve our World Series chances.
  13. Because Yankees fans are apparently too stupid to look at splits. Seems like Mets fans have a similar problem.
  14. Agree, although Slater is a pretty damn good platoon OF option so not totally surprised
  15. Hopefully…he’s worth a roll of the dice for the next two months.
  16. Yup, hard to complain about this move.
  17. I don’t think you sit Houser as he just isn’t the type of player that warrants that treatment. Robert I could see the argument for, but even then, feels like you want him out there and showing he is healthy after this little groan scare.
  18. The rumors were he was resistant to change and leveraging analytics, so not too surprised to see if him get better once he left. That being said, him turning into Aaron Judge in like a month after leaving screams fluke.
