  1. Just to be clear everyone, Ishbia is buying the shares of the non Reinsdorf owners. Jerry doesn’t really benefit he sells his shares to Ishbia at a later date.
  2. This isn’t a capital call, Ishbia is simply buying up the shares of all the minority owners. The White Sox themselves won’t end up with any extra cash.
  3. I don’t get this stadium angle. If the minority owners are selling their shares to Ishbia, how does this help fund a stadium?
  4. I read those articles when I got home last night at 2:30am. My take is NBB is implying that the Reinsdorf’s won’t be selling their shares right away, but I still believe Ishbia would need control of the org to exit from his Twins pursuits. I think this will all come out after the Feb 28th deadline for minority owners to sell their shares to Ishbia. This screams Rubenstein/Angelos type deal.
  5. It’s the fucking NBA. You want an owner that will spend and bet big on stars, which is the opposite of what the Reinsdorf’s do. I can’t believe people are actually complaining about this.
  6. We just saw this exact same construct with the Orioles purchase. Rubenstein bought a minority stake but received control of the team with an agreement to buy the Angelos’ shares upon his death. I’m assuming it’s going to be something very similar as Ishbia won’t want to wait for Jerry to die to take control when he could have just bought the Twins immediately.
  7. @Balta1701 - That Kyle Tucker pipe dream might just be possible now. Might as well sign him and Guerrero. Meidroth, 2B C. Montgomery, SS* Tucker, RF* Guerrero, 1B B. Montgomery, LF# Teel, C* Quero, DH# Ramos, 3B Who Fucking Cares, CF
  8. Correct, like ~4x richer than the #2 owner in Ishbia.
  9. If this was a massive trade during the Winter Meetings, this thread would be 10+ already. We are finally free of the Reinsdorf’s. I can’t even believe this s%*# is even real. I was worried that old f*** would live to 110 and I wouldn’t be able to enjoy White Sox baseball until my 60’s. Instead, we will soon enough have one of the richest owners in the sport who will likely do what’s needed to bring out the best of this franchise. It’s simply a dream come fucking true.
  10. How long does Getz last now? Does Ishbia come in and clean house?
  11. Ishbia will be the second richest owner in the entire MLB and is a Chicago resident. We have hit the motherfucking jackpot and somehow this thread is only at three pages. I’m literally celebrating this news all weekend. This is the day we have been waiting for for decades and it’s finally fucking here. Honestly, I can’t think of a better fucking owner on paper than Ishbia. I don’t know how everyone isn’t doing cartwheels right now. This is absolutely incredible.
  12. I’m not suggesting they want to lose money, but that $2 value menus is basically unheard of and is straight up giving money back to the fans. Meanwhile, the Bulls won’t even go into the tax despite swindling their fans on an overrated, expensive experience.
  13. Hopefully this works similar to Rubenstein’s deal with the Orioles where he assumed control of the team before Angelo’s death and then purchased a full controlling stake in the team after his death. My guess is Reifert is trying to downplay things so Ishbia can pick up the bulk of the non Reinsdorf shares right now without some of the minority owners going rogue. Again, this deal is happening no matter, now it’s just a matter of when not if.
  14. The brother who owns the Suns also introduced a “$2 value menu” last year to make going to a game more affordable for all fans. These guys aren’t looking to profit, they simply want to win. I’m blown away that after decades of Jerry we finally get his exact opposite and there are people still complaining. It’s absolutely mind-boggling.
  15. It’s 100% happening and we should all be celebrating. I have no idea what Harold is talking about in regard to finding someone to fund a new stadium, but we are inching ever so close to being free of the Reinsdorfs and instead will have an owner that will likely be awesome. This s%*# almost feels surreal at this point…there is once again hope for the franchise.
  16. Sorry, while Tito had a variety of health issues, Carlos Carrasco was dealing with leukemia and was immuno-comprised at the time. So yes, Clevinger being reckless and getting COVID could have gotten his “teammate” killed. Not sure why that’s hard for you to process unless you missed the memo of the 1.2M US citizens who died from the virus.
  17. But what if he looks good for a few weeks in Spring Training? Would that change your opinion of him?
  18. lol…I’m worried about him? No, I’m just calling him a piece of s%*# human being because that’s what he is. You’re the one who has decided to make it your life’s purpose to protect the honor of men accused of domestic & sexual violence but ultimately not convicted of a crime from all these mean Soxtalk posters. And I love you downplaying him potentially getting his manager killed by calling it “doing some blow with strippers”. Not only did he put Tito’s life at risk, he lied to his entire fucking team about it. But again, you’ve dug into this hole of must protecting poor little Clevinger at all costs so none of this is all that surprising.
