  1. Oh too slow. Anyways its early in the season but the mental mistakes and lack of solid plate approach, combined with some real questionable managing, have got me pretty disheartened about this season.
  2. Well I wouldn't say stupid, but definitely a bit airheaded. He seems to blank out on what is the proper play a lot. I don't think it would be remedied by moving him back to 2nd, it just is who he is.
  3. Now all we need is Ozzie and KW calling out the players for lack of execution and it'll be a White Sox season.
  4. Interest....fading... Wonder whats on Discovery channel for the next 6 months.
  5. I'm just laughing I guess. It's moved past frustrating into hilarious. It is hilarious how bad this offense is.
  6. The only reason I hate Pierre more than Teahen is because I knew exactly what would happen and it has happened. Teahen is still a wild card but right now he is pretty worthless.
  7. Juan Pierre is already my most hated White Sox player.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 10:09 PM) We are not gonna win this game. There I said it. Yeah but I assumed this before it even started. Its still disappointing to watch.
  9. Pinch hit Nix then replace him with Kotsay in left.
  10. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 09:34 PM) Like Kotsay, who ALSO has no clue how to elevate a ball? Nix -> Kotsay in the field. There is at least a small chance Nix can get the ball off the ground.
  11. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 9, 2010 -> 09:30 PM) It seems whenever the other team is given an opportunity they score and the Sox need to work their ass off to get a run. White Sox Baseball - Losing Ugly.
  12. This may have been mentioned, but why is Ozzie not pinch hitting for Pierre, who I dont think has gotten a ball in the air yet? Anyone would have been better there.
  13. Its the time of the season for throwing crap at a wall and seeing what sticks. I'd like to see Jones in the DH spot tomorrow but on the other hand, the more chances Kotsay has to fail means he will be out of the DH role faster. Like with Wise last year.
  14. Because i'm bored 1. NYY 2. BOS 3. TBR 4. LAA 5. MIN 6. TEX 7. CHW 8. BAL 9. SEA 10. DET 11. OAK 12. CLE 13. TOR 14. KCR
  15. Span and Kubel are much better than our respective options as well.
  16. This team is vastly improved over opening day 2009. The team still has significant holes, but the outfield D is significantly improved, the infield shouldn't be worse and will likely be better, the pitching is a whole lot better, and Pierre, Teahen, Vizquel > Wise, Getz, Lillibridge. That said, I always temper my optimism with realism - on paper, this team is not measurably better than Detroit or Minnesota. There are three teams in the Central that will likely battle all season, and predicting results for this kind of contest is anything from difficult to downright maddening depending on the individual. Can they win? Certainly, they have the talent. Will they?
  17. Do computer models tend to favor offense over defense and pitching? If their pitching comes around (big if) the Indians could be tough. LaPorta could break out this year and Grady should bounce back.
  18. 12 pitchers is plenty for this staff. The 13th guy would be marginal at best anyways. Nix is the obv choice here as he does some things well and is a good bench player. He has a place on this team and i'd really hate to lose him for nothing.
  19. With all the questions surrounding the offense, there are still issues with the SP and bullpen that could sabotage the season. Peavy doesn't live up to expectations, Jenks is hurt or ineffective, Putz the same, Garcia is lousy/injured, Hudson isn't ready, Pena stinks... there's a decent chance of all those factors going wrong. Combined w other problems, I don't see much more than 80-82 wins.
  20. What if our optimal alignment ends up with Jones in left and Pierre DH.
  21. Catch all year at AAA, come up in Sept. to get some familiarity with the staff. That is something that will build with time but right now his bat is his value and he needs to work on it more, cutting down K's and getting used to more advanced pitching.
  22. Weren't they going to get him some time at C this spring, or will that be during the season.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 13, 2010 -> 04:49 PM) Between the trade for him and a contract extension, Teahen at least has to be noted. Yeah, if he is lousy he will be near the top of this list. No mention of Rios yet... has his strong spring gotten everyone encouraged? I remember some serious Rios rage around these parts.
