QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 12:06 AM) Personally, I don't think he'll even bother coming back from his bachelor party in Mexico... Still waiting for that invite, by the way, Doc... Cmon now I offered you my playoff tickets right behind the sox on deck circle! Or maybe you don't have faith in us making the playoffs....

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 11:14 PM) Yep, and I remember having to apologize to jphat after the home run for bashing Pods...that of course was jphat was the biggest homer in the history of sports. And I remember after the homer some random 15 yr old girl sitting behind jumped into my arms and I planted one on her lips and I didn't feel one bit guilty about.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 07:46 PM) That's exactly right. Without Konerko's blast, the Sox lose the game. Without Pods, they still may have won. I think some of the bigger whipping boys were Uribe, Thome and Contreras. The biggest whipping boy of all, however, is Greg Walker. also without pods weak throwing arm Houston would never have tied the game so pods was double responsible and he wins

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 01:41 PM) I still would love to see an answer to this question: Maybe we are mad at him because we wanted to celebrate at home!!

QUOTE (SnB @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 03:59 PM) Did anyone else see this? You can plunk down $10 (or $20) to reserve the right to buy playoff tickets for face value. Apparently screwing over season ticket holders. Gone away are the days of frantically clicking on ticketmaster? http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_leagu...?urn=mlb,252857 http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/tickets/ticket_rese...=mm_mlb_tickets So who is going to take the risk with our sox?

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 03:23 PM) We missed out on Benitez, he got signed by the Marlins. It's always funny looking over the Bears roster...constantly get flashbacks and remember certain players you'd completely forgotten about or wondered what they were doing. Edgardo Alfonzo, Scott Spiezio, Brian Barton, Daryle Ward, and obviously Everett. Kala Kaaihue is on the team too, but they list him with his given first name, Isaiah, rather than by Kala. That's fun stuff. Yeah I was just thinking of guys who were on it last year. Now that I look at roster this year, Willie Banks?? Remember when the Cubs thought he was a stud...

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 01:00 PM) If they're good players, I don't care if they played for the Newark f***ing Bears, I want them on this team. Everett, Mackowiak, Benitez...

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) So is there any hope of a Fielder deal getting done? There's no way Milwaukee can afford to re-sign him. he is not being traded

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 10:21 AM) He's a guy who throws very hard, one of the few lefties in baseball who can match speed with Thornton. But he's had control issues and injuries. He's seen the majors for brief stints multiple times. Seems like maybe a good "project" for Coop, in the way that Thornton was. Lots of potential there, but a low probability of ultimate success. His command is a big issue and the reason he wasn't up here sooner. Plus Coop believed that Williams was more suited for the long relief role.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 03:20 PM) This with all the Lebron rumors is making me head explode dont forget the rumors about iamshack's cougars

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 01:45 PM) Yes, we have a chance. But it requires us to basically sell off 2 key parts of our 2011 board without the financial resources to replace them. It's all about that. If I'm the Nats and I get the Hudson + Flowers + some A baller offer, I wait a week or so until the AS break and see if I get a better offer, and if not I'd pull the trigger. Do you really want us to accept that offer? I am ok with one of them but both seems rough considering I am not convinced that Dunn puts us over the top.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 09:49 AM) He's more than capable of being a top notch defender though. He is, I think his ceiling is an Andy Van Slyke type hitter.
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 10:03 PM) Yeah, and we can't afford to sign him long term anyways... But I'd be willing to give them Hudson/Flowers/Viciedo for the chance at winning it this year. Of course, I am a short-sighted jackass. hence the double cougar lifestyle
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 09:55 PM) As I told you, it would be a huge mistake to give up Flowers or Hudson for a rental right now. There's no telling if we just go back into our struggles in the AL. Unless it's for Prince Fielder, Hudson is untouchable for me. unfortunately we were told prince isnt going amywhere, which either means they arent trading him or we have to overpay

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 09:41 PM) Alexei really is a terrible offensive player. I had zero confidence he was going to come through in that situation. Does he have a "clutch" hit since the slam against Detroit? man that was a great game
-
i dont want to hear any crap that we battled down to the end and never gave up. KC gave us everything and we still couldnt take it
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 09:34 PM) If you don't deliver here I get to f*** your wife, Mark please do it, i hate him
-
ozzie seriously did not have him bunting with one out did he?
-
by my count that is at least 3 2-0 pitches we swung at that were balls
-
i am fairly confident i can play better shortstop than betancourt

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 09:25 PM) One of the advantages of being single...no romantic comedies and two different cougars in the same day, my man... at the same time? then im impressed

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 09:21 PM) At least I have Book of Eli and a half bottle of tequila to deal with after this s***fest. Anyone want a margarita? yes please. we were deciding between book of eli and shes out of my league last night. picked the comedy, not very funny
-
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 09:19 PM) Well this is looking bleak. Not looking forward to Soria in the 9th. Kinda wonder why we re-signed Mark Kotsay if we're not going to use him when he's actually needed. he is resting today, the DH is only used to rotate bench guys
-
His bear hugs are actually hugs he gives to bears.
-
why the F*** do we swing at crap pitches when the guy cant throw a strike!! 2-0 take a pitch gordon, you should pray for a walk
