QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 27, 2010 -> 01:40 PM) I do see your "point" and I probably used the wrong word, but still the bottom line is we won the game, but I sure don't want to see that kind of melt down by Jenks again. Can he get back on track? I haven't heard much in the way of comments from the Sox on this game. Has anyone else picked up anything? bobby is still the closer

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 26, 2010 -> 03:37 PM) One of my friends says that Southpaw is a girl... i can confirm that
-
did anybody think at this time last year that contreras would end up being a better closer than jenks?
-
we won the game because the indians manager is more stupid. bunting when jenks was struggling gave us an easy out and took the bat out of choo's hands.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 26, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) Did you know Ribbie and Rhubarb were married. and southpaw is a girl

QUOTE (qwerty @ May 26, 2010 -> 02:12 PM) Things like that happen every day, and honestly much more f***ed up things than that. Chemistry is very real. I know i am a believe anyway. whats more f'd up than a teammate sleeping with your mom? thats pretty strange to me
-
and pena gets the win!!! williams is hurt?

QUOTE (qwerty @ May 26, 2010 -> 02:08 PM) I would fully disagree. None of us know the behind the scenes scenarios. Such as who slept with who, it could range from a sister, wife, or mom. People tend to get out of hand due to a drunken outrage and say things that shouldn't be said, and it could be regarding anything. The closest of friends for years can absolutely despise one another due to a disagreement, sides are taken, s*** talking behind backs are said, etc, etc. Just a bit like real life. i bet a guy sleeping with lebron's mom can't help chemistry

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 26, 2010 -> 01:52 PM) Thornton now the closer. Has to be. Please be. Santos for the 8th. dont hold your breath

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ May 26, 2010 -> 01:47 PM) This. How long will it be before his fat a$$ is taken out? when the score is 6-5 serioulsy, he clearly has nothing and on top of it he has thrown 30 pitchers. so he is now a tired nothing
-
i dont understand why he is still in the game
-
well i guess we will never know if the scorer could give the win to pena now
-
is anyone warming up
-
im scared

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 26, 2010 -> 01:17 PM) With a 4 run lead, I say you put Santos in here and see what happens. i say throw linebrink out there
-
i bet they give the win to pena now
-
the bottom of this indians order is just atrocious

QUOTE (fathom @ May 26, 2010 -> 12:04 PM) Randy would get the win if this lead holds not necessarily. in this situation the scorer can pick the pitcher the he feels was most effective and give him the win

QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ May 26, 2010 -> 11:45 AM) This is the first time I remember this season where they could've used a long guy in the pen. I think not having a long guy on thise team has been a major mistake. There have been many times where we could have used someone to throw 3 meaningless innings but instead we had to use multiple guys to finish out the game. This, in turn, of course affected the games after.

QUOTE (gordonventura38 @ May 26, 2010 -> 11:34 AM) I think were averaging about a minute on offense per inning and keeping on the 8 pitch an inning pace
-
16 pitches in 2 innings?

QUOTE (hogan873 @ May 26, 2010 -> 10:46 AM) The other Mark (Kotsay) will continue hitting well. He goes 2-3 with a walk and 2 RBIs. He will go 0-4 and back to being the mediocre player that he is. But the real Mark will give up 1 run and lead us to the series victory!

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 25, 2010 -> 05:03 PM) Rivera will make it because he's by far and away the greatest relief pitcher to ever live. yes i would argue that Rivera is the most dominant player at his position of all time

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 25, 2010 -> 11:32 AM) He has to do some spectacular things at some point in his career. Individually he hasn't had any amazing stand out seasons. He's never won 20 games. He's never placed higher than 5th in a Cy Young voting. He's never had an era of less than 3.12. It could still happen, but at this point, I would have to say he isn't even close to a HOF guy. agreed, he certainly is a very long shot at ths point but i wouldnt say he has no chance. regardless i think he will be revered by sox fans in the same light as those aforementioned cubs

QUOTE (smalls2598 @ May 25, 2010 -> 07:35 AM) I think you hit the nail on the head.... Sox fans "on here" see the 2005 as a team that jelled together, got the timely hits and pitching to win the World Series. The team really wasn't full of All-Stars, but more of players who nearly ALL played above their career averages in one hell of a season. However, if you talk to the "casual" Sox fans who don't visit this board, I almost guarantee you that they still think Pods, Rowand, Crede, etc are gods. As for the Jenkins/Banks/Williams love....come on dude, they're Hall of Famers; they deserve to be cherished by Cubs fans. I'm pretty sure everyone will agree that no one from the 2005 Sox team really has a chance to be a Hall of Famer. I disagree. I think that Mark has a chance.
