  1. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 24, 2010 -> 07:15 PM) Mark issues a high-pitched, "f***!" as he grounds, yet again, to the 2b. Take a shot. why on earth is that guy swinging at a 3-0 pitch
  2. so we are now 2 months into the season and we still haven't figured out that kotsay should not be hitting 5th
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 24, 2010 -> 07:58 AM) The Indians are without Sizemore and Cabrera. If we can't take 2 of 3 in this series, with D1, Peavy, and Buehrle on the mound, there's something seriously wrong. dude i think we both know already that there is something seriously wrong
  4. I am going tonight. Might not be many people there with the Hawks on.
  5. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 20, 2010 -> 10:57 PM) Can play all three OF positions, making 500K, so far hitting at a solid production.. KW won't have a problem getting a call for him right now.. that is of course if we keep waiting and he keeps dropping. He has no value. He's not a good hitter. The sox would not get anything of value for him. It was very easy to forsee this drop as all he does is swing really hard and hope he makes contact. There is not one contender who he could help
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ May 11, 2010 -> 02:44 PM) So a guy that played 2/3 of a baseball season that hit .270, 14 homers, 28 doubles, and knocked in 63....and learned a new position at the major league level and did well, was rushed to the majors? Uh, no. This is just a slump. A slump that a lot of second year players go through (Coghlan). He will get through it, and be fine. I have no doubt about that. Could Beckham be sent down for a short time to get his swing back? Sure, that may be the right thing to do for him. But he should not be sent down for the rest of the year, and he wasn't "rushed". I hope its a slump but i am not positive about that yet. A lot of guys have had first year success and then ended up never matching it again. I think Coghlan could be one of those guys.
  7. this argument reminds me of a guy who was sitting behind me at a game years ago. he was angry that frank walked so much and kept yelling at him. i finally had to say something and he argued with me that your #3 hitter should not walk that much and it was better for him to swing at bad pitches and strike out than to walk. i hate sitting next to stupid people at sox games. what are some of the dumbest things you have heard people say at the park??
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 20, 2010 -> 10:37 AM) Ok, now you are just looking to argue. Right....the best hitter in franchise history and one of the probably best 10 hitters or so of all time didn't carry a big part of the load. Ok. cmon man you know that all of franks hits were in meaningless situations!!
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 20, 2010 -> 08:47 AM) I like your list of guys likely to move but I think you're off here. I think Buehrle is at the top of the list in terms of asking price, but that's because of emotional attachment to the team more than anything else. I put Rios above Peavy as well, because his contract actually costs less and he's performing at or above it. Buehrle and Peavy are currently under-playing their contracts,w hich also hurts them. If you really want to say "Which guy on the Sox brings the most return if you trade him right now", the answer is D1: the pitching Danks. i really dont think jones is going to get you anything in a trade. i dont see much interest in him.
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 20, 2010 -> 08:13 AM) Yeah, hard to tell if he's just in a bit of a slump or if he maybe started trying to hit a home run every time up and is reverting back to the old habits. He's had a few REALLY good pitches to hit lately and has popped them up to the shallow outfield... I'm hoping it's just a slump. everyone goes through slumps in a long season so i will just assume that is what it is. i dont expect him to hit .300 for the season so he had to tail off somewhat. he is certainly the least of our worries
  11. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 18, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) Avila?! Don Kelly?! I'm sure even Randy Williams can get these guys out. i guess jenks cant

  13. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ May 18, 2010 -> 02:30 PM) is Thornton available today? Why is the bullpen short? nope he may go on the DL
  14. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 18, 2010 -> 02:16 PM) Boom...Welcome back CQ! if he keeps going to RF we will all be happy
  15. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 18, 2010 -> 02:13 PM) I have Cabrera in fantasy baseball and Arraon Hill. When Cabreara made the out his line was switched with Hill's who has a home run and 3 rbi today....I thought cabreara hit a slam..which for fantasy would have been nice but for my well being, not so much The Blue Jays are good and the White Sox outplayed them..really is sad this season is where it is currently. anyone who cheers for their fantasy team over their real team is not a fan. one time we were in vegas and a bunch of us each lost about $500 on a football game. one guy was happy because his fantasy guy did well. i swear he was almost murdered right there
