QUOTE (cjgalloway @ Sep 14, 2017 -> 04:39 PM) Because many see STL as a fit for Avi. Give me Carson Kelly and a Hot N' Ready for Avi and I'd be stoked.. Mostly about the pizza though omg I need Avis new nickname to be Hot n ready.

2017-2018 NFL Thread
The Bears' are going to be bad, and their schedule is tough. Realistic wins are what? SF, New Orleans? Maybe Cleveland?

When will the Sox be competitive again?
Next year is probably going to be a tank year. So maybe by 2019 they start to add in more of the some of the younger guys, and then by 2020 try to go for a WC.

League Wide Speculation
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2017 -> 10:02 AM) God I hope the Cubs back up the truck for Verlander. It would be awesome. Eh, I'd rather our divisional rival be on the books for the money and not adding good/decent prospects to their terrible farm system. Especially the douchey one.

The Continuing Decline & Fall of Mark Buehrle
Jewel of the thread: someone's sig When is the last time they both had a winning season together? 2010?

When the Sox are ready to contend in 2019/2020, who is the manager?
Right, every fan base has gripes about their manager. I'm sure Yankees fans had their qualms with Torre, and Cardinals' fans with LaRussa. I'm not going to defend him, but it's best for him to work things out now while the team is rebuilding. And after 2019, or whatever, he's seen better as a developmental manager than a competitive one then just get someone else.

June 20th Game Thread: White Sox @Minnesota Twins
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 12:58 AM) Both are toolsy guys finally putting it together. Although to be fair their best tool is by far defense, which is much more subtle. The nice thing is when you play a premium defensive position and play it well (Leury is +3 runs in CF, Yolmer +2.5 at 2B, both pass the eye test as well, granted Leury in a small sample in CF) you don' have to hit as much to be a solid starter. If they can slash 270/320/400 they are decent starters. Anything else is bonus. There are signs that the improvements with the bat are real for both, mostly due to making more contact. sweet. thanks.

Sale is absolutely going to slay us. And that's fine, we need all the L's we can get.

I AM WHITE/AMERICAN PRIVILEGE
I'm white, and I grew up in poverty. And until I quit school and started working in a factory I lived below the poverty line. I don't think my race had anything to do with that.

Updated teams interested in Q
Do the Sox have a year they're hypothetically going for it? And if so do they target prospects who project to be in the majors around that time? Or do they go for best prospect regardless of their level? If the Sox aim is 2020 do they target players in R or A league hoping they'll be in the Chicago by 2020/2021? If the Sox aim is 2019 do they target players in AA/AAA or even ML players under control for 5 years, or whatever, like what Eaton was? Or, is it just best player regardless of where they are?

The hat pic is probably a ploy to twist the Cardinals' arm in negotiating.
